The Scarlet Pimpernel Does Something

Things have gotten crazy busy recently, and so fitness has kind of taken a back seat. I wish I could make it more of a priority, but I just can't right now.

 

I've realized with my past challenges, that I want to try to do everything, and then I end of doing nothing. So this time, my goal is to do SOMETHING. Even if it's not my highest priority, I can do SOMETHING to improve my health each day, and something is better than nothing. So this challenge is bare bones simple. No theme, no fancy goals, just hanging on and trying to squeeze in what I can to keep leveling up, even if it is slowly.

 

Goals:

1. Push, Pull, Squat, Core. Do one set of one of these movements each day. Make sure I do one of each movement by the end of each week.

2. Eat one healthy meal each day. For purposes of this challenge, a healthy meal has real vegetables and is less than 750 cal.

 

End.

I'm still here! 

 

My goals have been going ok. I did miss a couple days of the exercises, but if I can get pulls in today, then I'll at least have completed one set of each movement throughout the week.

 

I also had a meal with vegetables each day. I haven't been tracking the calories, but they haven't been huge.

I haven't been eating very well overall due to call schedules and Halloween candy, but I have at least been fitting vegetables into at least 1 meal per day. 

 

Missed Monday for exercise, but yesterday I did a set of dips for my pushing in my call room before bed, so that was something!

I'm still here! But I'm definitely in a huge rut. Some of it is being busy, but a lot of it is just laziness. And it's not just with health either. Hoping I can get out of it soon. 

 

I have not been eating healthy really at  all. I have put in one or two reps of exercises sporadically, so that's not nothing. I've also managed to drop a couple pounds despite everything, I think because I'm on l my feet all day now.

Here I said I was going to work on the mini more, and then I go and hurt my back again :(  I don't even know what set it off, so that's frustrating. Doing some of my back exercises though. 

 

I so wish exercise was a way to unwind for me like it is for some of my classmates. Unfortunately for me it's eating crap and watching Netflix. I have been trying to at least record the crap I'm eating though, and somehow I've still been dropping a few pounds.

Sorry to hear about your back, that's frustrating that it happened just as you wanted to do more of the minis. As far as exercising being a way to unwind, maybe try different things? Doing cardio was always a huge struggle for me, and I thought I just hated exercise, until I tried out weightlifting and parkour. As far as the food, they do say that observation changes the thing being observed... maybe you're being more mindful about the crap you're eating? :)

I feel you so hard on Netflix & noms to unwind. When I'm stressed, I don't want to exercise like those lucky people - I want to stuff my face with crab rangoon & watch my favorite shows

Yah I'm still out to find some form of exercise I truly like. I enjoy walking/hiking, but they take more time than I usually have available, and are harder in the winter. I would like to try out some kind of parkour or martial arts class or something, but again, tough to get a regular time with being on call and things. Excuses, I know, but it feels like the reality right now

Pft. Sometimes excuses are legitimate reasons. I totally hear you on now wanting to go out during winter - part of my xmas gift to myself is going to be a treadmill. Not as fun as walking outdoors in the fall, but now that it's below freezing....? Ugh. And it might be worth it to look into the parkour/martial arts. A lot of places that offer adult classes recognize that schedules don't always work well and offer walk-ins or flex classes. The place I go to offers a punch card option so you can just drop in at the appropriate level class when you have time. You never know if you don't ask!

I decided I am taking a real break this next challenge, instead of these pretend breaks. Hopefully I'll be able to find some motivation after the Christmas rush, and be ready to start the new year of right!
