Raptron Is Consistent Part II

Second verse same as the first! Well, almost the same at least. My GORUCK event is on November 11. I would like to not feel like dying during most of the event, so that is what my training plan is geared toward in the next few weeks. 

 

Goal 1. Condition

  • 8 conditioning sessions prior to the GORUCK

Goal 2. Ruck

  • 4 stadium runs, hikes, or weighted walks that are at least 3 miles prior to the GORUCK

Goal 3. Diaphragmatic Breathing

  • 20 diaphragmatic breathing sessions, try to create a habit around bedtime.

Goal 4. Clean

  • 20 sessions of 20 minutes of cleaning or tidying related activities 

 

While Goals 1 and 2 will be finished by the time the challenge is half over, that is ok! I am looking forward to the event being over before it has even begun... hahah! Once this training chunk is over, I think I want to focus on lifting and yoga balances/movement control. So by the end of the challenge, I hope to be on track with a new lifting program. For the cleaning, I may try to follow some kind of online step-by-step thing like Flylady or take parts of different things to try to get on track. If I work to spend more time making my home into a place I actually want to be, maybe I can actually feel a bit more relaxed when I am home instead of feeling kind of stressed by all the mess. 

 

PLAN

October 24-October 30: 2-3 conditioning sessions, 2 ruck, 1 gymnastics practice

October 31-November 6: 2-3 conditioning sessions, 2 ruck, 1 gymnastics practice

November 7-November 13: 2 lighter cardio/conditioning sessions, 1 light ruck or long walk, no gymnastics

November 14-November 20: consider starting a lifting program! lift 2x and yoga 2x, gymnastics 1x

November 21-November 27: lift 3x, gymnastics 2x, yoga if there is time

YES THIS. EXACTLY THIS. I has this issue too.

 

I am thus working on a major overhaul of my bedroom in particular where I tend to hoard the most stuff and then ignore it and be like OR I COULD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WOOPS HAHAH! Yeaaah....

And welcome alllll. I am just going to start logging in here because new forums are new and old forums are DEAD. 

 

Day 0.1

Nothing about the day made me want to do anything other than nap when I got home and maybe binge watch some 90s movies, but, that doesn't really get me anywhere does it? I got my butt to the gym. Conditioning sounded literally impossible, so there was none of that, but I did move some iron and meet another girl in the weight room which is always <3.

Uhhh, looking at my goals, I think I assumed I'd start now instead of next week, so I guess let's go with that. :P

I just looked up goruck challenges and it looks awesome/terrifying! And something that I will look into if I end up getting the job in the military band I am auditioning for this month and need to do BMQ, haha! I am looking forward to hearing about you killing it/not dying!

Day 0.2

Went grocery shopping as well as regular shopping to try to find some pieces for my costume for Saturday. I didn't like what I found, so my ruck expedition tonight will be wandering around shopping. Nothing accessorizes better than a bunch of bricks in a backpack -- goes with any activity! I'll do a bodyweight circuit at home as well when I get done with my hopefully successful shopping expedition. 

 

Condition: 0/8

Ruck: 0/4

Breathing: 0/20

Clean: 1/20

 

Plan is to do conditioning with a cardio focus tomorrow, lift on Friday with some probably mostly upper body focused conditioning, Saturday gymnastics practice + pumpkin beer fest + the down dirtiest Halloween party of the season. Sunday will probably be a couch pile day, but if not, I need to get off my ass and get outside for more rucking about.

I suddenly want to dress up like a ruck and ride piggy back on Mr Red all weekend... Not sure how he'd feel about that!!! :P

So much truth...except when your friend thinks it fun to swap your ruck with the hot pink GR1. Nothing like a big 300lb guy walking around with a heavy neon pink bag in the city to generate some stares...but you best believe I rocked it.

Hahah, I love that. I want to be the Rumpleminze warrior sometime with Hubstron as a polar bear that I can also piggy back around on.:D:D:D

DAMN RIGHT I BELIEVE. I have the hot pink one. I love it! Also almost all my coldweather gear is neon... I will be a shining beacon of color in a crowd probably mostly wearing tacticool black. :P

Day 0.3

Okay, 6 bricks and etc. and I wandered around town for 12,000 steps, which isn't a proper measure of distance but I was shopping so sometimes you take what you can get. I picked up a tank top and shorts on sale for $6.90 for my costume... who says the consumerist dream is dead? :P Other crafting did not have a chance to take place though because I got home late-ish and had some other plans. Did not do anything other than a few push-ups and pull-ups either when I got home.

Also, just so I cover all my baaaases, Hubstron and I are doing Extra Life again this year, which is a fundraiser for children's hospitals that involves a 24-hour video game marathon and stream. Hahahah, sure!

 

We're not 100% siure yet! Definitely some Overwatch, probably Vermintide, weird indie games, maybe WoW battlegrounds, some D&D through roll20... We shall see! I think we'll probably try to get some sort of order of events together in advance, but it just hasn't happened just yet.

Following for Rucking awesomeness and Extralife.  It seems that I have worked every time this comes up.  Might have to take a day of leave next year to do it.

Horde, duh. I have always been more of an antagonist than a protagonist. Plus... belfs, obviously.

 

Day 0.4

Guess who didn't really want to condition today? Meeee. I guess that is why this is a goal. Even with a fire under my ass, I still hate itttt. This is probably what it feels like for people who never find their workout passion -- resenting going to the gym, grumbling every time, feeling miserable when they actually work out. I almost talked myself into doing a full lifting workout instead, but sucked it up eventually... only after front squats. >_>

Then conditioning was 5 rounds of... 15 30" box jumps, 15 push-ups, 15 one-legged glute bridges, 30 flutterkicks, 15 tricep dips. Then I split 20 minutes between running on the treadmill and stair stepping because ugh. Boring. My legssssss were also protesting a bit. Can't imagine why. :P

 

Condition: 1/8

Ruck: 1/4

Breathing: 0/20

Clean: 1/20

 

Full set of lifts tonight plus maybe another circuit and if not a circuit then probably stationary biking. Got most of my costume sorted last night -- hot glue guns are magical things. I may need to reinforce some things tonight and make some ears, but I am just about good to go for my Nihilisa Frank get-up. :D
