Yes I know this should have been the title for part 2.0 but whatever. JUST THOUGHT OF IT  WOO and I am bored of using the exact same challenge title! This will be mostly the same set up for goals although I am thinking I will substitute the exercise goal with something else since that should not be a problem as we get closer to the show.....

 

So, this challenge marks the entry into HOLY SHIT AAAH crunch time for the dance production I am working on. I am done wearing choreographer hat mostly BUT we have like....10+ more dances and transition scenes etc. to get done in only 6 weeks and only 6 of those are actually on the schedule already so yeaaaaah.... My weeknight and weekend downtime goals will likely have to be reduced in final weeks of this challenge (or HEY maybe we can get this shit scheduled now so I can maybe average out 1 day per week instead of 2 days per week to ZERO but hey, I don't get to decide the schedule unfortunately!)

 

Goal 1: EXERCISE

Maintain exercise plan for maximum happiness but NOT into oh hey where did my life go? territory. Parameters: work out at least 3 x per week

(Brainstorming how to revise this to account for me likely getting 5+ days of dance rehearsals by the end of challenge. Open to suggestions!!)

 

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS

(Yes left shark has nothing to do with this but whatever. LEFT SHARK FOREVER!)

Have AT LEAST one evening off during weeknights in order to hang out with friends OR cook stuff/ downtime whatever I need, and at least one day a weekend with at least a 6 hours IN A ROW chunk of downtime/friendtime.

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING

 Dedicate at least 2 hours per week to adulting pursuits! (Does not need to be in a row.) Cleaning, reorganizing, meal prep, anything adulting related is fair game!!

 

 

GOAL 4:  To be decided? Or maybe I should be more minimalist because AAAH BUSY hmm...

No Goal 4 because busy!

 

 

 

Life Goal- BALANCE!

Maintain balance!!! I shall strive to be self aware of if the above plan is NOT working and make alterations if necessary.

I say FAH to a goal 4. You have plenty on that plate. It is a plentiful plate.

I agree with @raptron

 

I love that you made downtime a goal for you. With as busy as you are going to be, it's good to have something low-key that makes you relax and be happy. :)

Today in things....If finally occurred to me that lunch time is in fact the perfect length to watch an episode of all the shows I want to watch but that my mom aka regular show watching buddy has already watched on Netflix. YAY LUNCHTIME DAREDEVIL! 

 

And then I need to do Agents of Shield and Arrow and once my mom finishes Luke Cage I can start that one up again (don't want to confuse her since she watches on my account and technology is not her strong suit. Lolol.)

I'm currently watching Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow (and Supergirl once I get to episode 18 of Flash). I found a list for the optimal watching order so it's been fun. Although some of the cliffhangers make me want to keep watching!

Today's week 0 thoughts:

 

Oh hey. Probably should have kept at minimum doing lunchtime walks as far as cardio!

 

Rehearsal last night kind of kicked my ass =/ UGH and we weren't even like, sprinting or anything. Though to be fair I think I also just did not eat enough yesterday because I felt like I ran through all my food energy by 8pm and then I had 2.5 more hours of rehearsal to go... enter me being hangry and unfocused and struggling to remember the choreography! 

 

I must figure out how to keep enough food energy to not crash out mid rehearsal -- wasn't super hungry yesterday OR Monday because I missed lifting day on Sunday because of sick trainer. How can I manage to find the appetite to eat a bunch more than I really am hungry for?!?!?! Any suggestions appreciated!

Even if you aren't hungry, you can plan on having a nice snack before rehearsal? Yogurt, granola, fruit, etc. Carbs! Some slow digesting carbs will help keep you going through the practice!

Maybe I need to eat right before rehearsal? I had a second lunch (meal size vs snack size!) at 4pm and rehearsal is at 7pm, but 4pm meal was still not enough apparently. UGH. Whats a good slow digesting carb? Do you think something like beans would work? I just made a hoard of black beans in the pressure cooker!

 

I am also thinking I could chug a quick protein shake too but I'll need to make sure I keep enough supplies on hand for that! (I drink so many milk + protein powder shakes that I run out of milk faaast!)

Bahahaha... in typical me fashion now enters the part where I volunteer to take on extra things in a show because I am me...

 

One, I am taking the place of this super irresponsible girl that dropped out of our production late because she wanted to MISS A NIGHT OF THE PERFORMANCE, the dates which we have known from the beginning and known were MANDATORY. Like seriously WTF is wrong with you girl?? Anyway, a friend of mine has an awesome piece, probably the most technically difficult one in our show so far that was DONE and now he has a late drop and either has to completely re-set the formations OR find a person crazy enough to volunteer to learn the whole thing on their own. Lucky for him I really really would love to be in a piece where I am actually doing some serious dancing! The two pieces I am in so far, I was at least semi in charge of choreographing and teaching, but they are both more musical theater than serious concert dance pieces, aka not very hard/more about character work. I love me some modern/contemporary with a lot of acrobatic floor work, so I am happy to be able to add into this one!

 

Incidentally I am also in TWO pieces that are both supposed to be taught on Thursday nights and I am not magic, so I am going to have to put in an extra rehearsal to learn the choreography for the additional piece sometime outside of class. It's also an easier, musical theater-y piece, so doable with little work for me! And it sounds like they want me to do more cartwheels which I am always happy to add more things that involve acrobatic stuff and me being upside down. Woot woot!

 

But yeah.... CRUNCH TIME YA'LL and I am making it...crunchier?  Hahhahahaha :)

<3 I've come to learn that I am really good at taking on too much at once and not realizing it until I am SO OVERWHELMED. I am so thankful to have you fabulous people around to try and keep me at least a little reeled in. :)

In other news, sinuses are stupid and I hate them. We have entered the time of year when I fight near constant sinus pain problems for about 6 months. DO NOT WANT. This has been a thing that has gotten worse and for longer for the past few years. I did decide that going to an ear, nose and throat specialist would be a good idea in case there is something else I could be doing as a better solution soooo I has an appointment next week.

 

Anywhoooo, let's attempt a challenge update!

 

 

Week 1, Day 1/2/3 report!

 

 

Goal 1: EXERCISE  - 2 out of 3 per week  -- Almost there already. I have 2 more dance rehearsals this week so this will be done and done extra!

 

Goal 2: DOWNTIME & FRIENDS -  1 out of 1 weeknight offnights;  1 out of 1 weekend downtimes  -- I guess I can kind of count Sunday? I still hate Sunday starts. Ugh!

 

GOAL 3: ADULTING - 2 out of 2 hours per week adulting     --  I did a lot of stuff on Sunday, which once again ugh Sunday start but yay getting stuff done?

 

Life Goal- BALANCE!

Feeling balanced (Y/N)? Yes!  So far good this week. The sinus infection shit is not helping but that isn't taking up time so much as just making time feel sloooow and my brain feel sloow and oww. WAAAAAH

ME TOO. I hate sinus headaches plus the lovely brain fog and exhaustion that comes with them. I feel like I've spent the majority of the last 3 days massaging my sinus accupressure points which helps but only temporarily/ it seems like pressure rebuilds pretty fast. UGH WHY.

OK seriously sinuses. UGH!  Actually feeling worse today. I stayed home for the morning to get more sleep and to be able to take a long hot shower to try and steam my sinuses into being happy but my plot does not seem to be working. Hot shower + neti pot twice + sinus blaster (basically huffing capsaicin up your nostrils. lololol) and still all the sinus pressure. DO NOT WANT.
