I'm still getting used to working out after having a c-section, but I'm able to do more with each month... just as long as I don't try to do a crazy core workout like I did last month. I'm also currently battling postpartum depression. I feel my best when I've exercised and been outside. So here's to starting another challenge with the awesome community here to keep me accountable! Move, Keep Walkin' (This is one of my favorite songs. I love the lyrics and they constantly get stuck in my head. Lol.) I need to exercise 2-3 times a week. Walking has been very beneficial for me. I want to walk twice a week and do yoga once a week. Log Those Calories Log my food and water intake daily. I can finally check my weight monthly instead of every 3-6 months when I visit my parents. My last weigh-in pre-pregnancy had me around 180 lbs. I eat pretty healthily throughout my pregnancy and worked out a lot (until the last few weeks when I was too tired to cook or care), and I lost weight the whole time I was pregnant. It took me to 20 weeks to start gaining baby weight. So I hopped on my scale and discovered... I am 10 pounds heavier than I was last year. I weigh freaking 191 lbs. But I'm smaller than I was last year, so I'm confused. Maybe the extra weight is due to breastfeeding? Anyways, I found the workouts I'm going to use. It's an 8-week workout regimen designed for post c-section recovery. It's supposed to be completed much earlier than I'm starting it, but I haven't felt up to working out until last month. Gaming_Jeweler Posted October 31, 2016 Author Report Share Posted October 31, 2016 I started my challenge yesterday. I decided to get a quick workout in before church. At the time, it didn't feel like much. But that evening I felt sore, like I had gotten a good workout in and if I tried to do more I would have pulled a muscle or something. Today has been kinda crappy. I was feeling overwhelmed and desperately in need of help when my husband and I got into a fight. I started it by saying he doesn't help me. He does help me, just not enough for me to function. Long story short, I wound up breaking down crying in the kitchen floor. I got so upset and just sat down and sobbed. I feel like I have too much weighing on me. After I calmed down, I started feeling numb. It's been hours and I still feel numb. I hate having Postpartum Depression. Move, Keep Walkin' I completed Day 1 of the C-section workout. Log Those Calories I completely forgot to do this. Discover My Inner Cook Sundays are a bit chaotic. I wound up eating breakfast at church... which meant having a cinnamon roll. Then we ate lunch out. I thought I'd be healthy and eat a salad (I love salads) and I wound up getting 2 salads with rotten lettuce. Since salad #2 was smaller than the first and I was feeling too sick to eat, I suggested we just leave. We did and hubby got me a small hamburger from a different restaurant. And I forgot what supper was. But I didn't cook.. at all. Gaming_Jeweler Posted November 12, 2016 Author Report Share Posted November 12, 2016 So I just completed week 2 of the c-section workout and I realized I hadn't posted an update. Oops. I've actually noticed a difference after 2 weeks of working out. Getting the stroller in and out of the car is no longer exhausting, although moving it around with the wheels low on air is a different story. I can now stand on my tip toes and reach the top shelf in the kitchen with ease. I still have trouble getting things out of the top shelf, but I can touch the mixing bowls now. PPD has been a roller coaster. I'm fine one day and a mess the next. But my husband has noticed a difference that I missed. I no longer have PPD meltdowns during the day. They are now limited to the night. And are limited to anxiety and paranoia. I still haven't talked to a doctor about my PPD. I probably should. But I'm worried I'd be put on antidepressants. And I'm not sure if going on meds while in medical debt is a good idea. Also, I'm worried about "getting hooked" on the pills... it's a bit of a problem that runs in the family. Logging food and water has been a mess. I either forget to do it or feel ashamed of what I eat and don't want to do log it. Gaming_Jeweler Posted November 18, 2016 Author Report Share Posted November 18, 2016 I struggled to finish week three of the workouts. I just want to quit and learn how to do chin-ups. Which is funny because I need to rebuild my chore muscles before I can do chin-ups. I've had to ditch walking outside because of all the smoke outside. There's wildfires springing up half an hour's drive from where I live and the smoke has put us under a "air quality" warning. For a few days, there was so much smoke outside it looked like fog.
