Butternut

Butternut composts the scraps

Recommended Posts

This challenge I'm going to focus on 3 things:

1. Treat myself like a 3 year old:

  • I need sleep or I get cranky (sleep routine 2 pts)
  • Sometimes nap to prevent sickness(15 minutes bonus 2 pts)
  • Don't get too hungry Or I get moody (Eat wholesome food 2 pts)
  • Not too much sugar or I will be too hyper to focus (No sugar or cream 4 pts)<---- I'm drinking way to much Early Grey with honey and cream or my new favorite, Whipped cream, sugar packet and espresso.... delicious, but not every day Butternut!
  • Me Time or I'm not a happy camper and I don't share (Meditate 5 minutes, listen to podcast, 10 minute reading 2 pts)
  • Play with other kids (20 minutes a day with my kids ATLEAST!! 2 pts)

2. Out Do Josh (Josh is a young guy I work with that is always talking about how much he benched pressed, doing pull ups on the trim of the door, and does biceps curls in the stock room.  We treat each other like brother and sister, so I have the need to be better then him and plus shove it in his face that I can do it too will be magical)

  • Practice 1-2 Pull/chin ups (when ever I work out 2 pts)
  • 10-15 minute muscle building 3 times a week (5 pts each session)
  • One HIIT session (10 pts)

3. Get Organized (These are things that once I do I get the whole points)

  • Organize a kitchen cupboard a week (10 pts for every week)
  • Get the peg board on wall for bills (20 pts)
  • Post Calendar on wall (10 pts)
  • Keep my night stand clean (30 pts)
  • Get a gym membership (20 pts)
  • Journal about my day at work in car daily (2 pts for each entry)

Extra Credit

  • Check Nerd Fitness goals in the morning before work to add up points (1 pt. for everyday)
  • Get on bike Trainer every Sunday (10 points)
  • Stretch video (2 pts for whenever I do it)
  • Work is crazy, but I need to create a balance and focus on my life more.  Seems like I a lot, but if I stay focused I'm going to be so much happier.

I'm starting this tomorrow 10/26 and ending it 11/26

My Reward if I am at 80% or more at the end of this challenge is: a full day at the health center with a pool, gym, and sauna and a Steak dinner...  mmmmmmm.

This is for my copy and paste, please ignore:

Haha, I like the 3-year old goals and the extra credit! :) I really need to get organized too ... sigh. Every time I open a cupboard, five things fall out.

Your 3-year-old take is brilliant! I love your goals (and your profile pic). Following! :)

Thanks! She was my favorite x-men when I was a kid. And whenever my older siblings and I would play "x-men" outside, they never let me be her, I always had to be the younger chick that had sparkles come out of her hands... Anywho, now that I'm older, I can be her!

I was just shoving in my coconut oil in my cupboard this morning and catching the pepper, cinnamon, and garlic powder before it fell out.... I know what ya mean.

Rogue is my fave as well. Honestly the most powerful. I fell in love after I tried to develop a Texan (I'm from Britain don't judge) accent for a school skit aaaaages ago, and watched Xmen on repeat just listening to her. And then getting a few of her comics. And then falling in love. :P

My favorite Rogue line from the 90s cartoon: "You look more nervous than a long-tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs!"

I have a friend from Texas who has a very twangy accent. I told her to say the above quote one time because I thought it would be hilarious. She said it perfectly, but then apologized because she said her accent is not as thick as it used to be. She has NO idea how twangy she sounds, lol.

Lol! That's funny.  Now I can't wait to find the opportunity to use that line. I won't have the accent but the saying is awesome.

For update:

i need to get s better sleep routine. My husband loves to watch tv for him to fall asleep, but then I'll lay there listening and/or watching it... Need a game plan..

i think im getting sick. I'm on day 20 straight from working and waking at 4 am..  If I workout this weekend it's going to be long stretching and slow cadence riding or walking.

Do take care of yourself! The more you do right now, the less likely you are to actually get sick. *hugs*

Thank you! I need hugs... It's not natural for humans to wake up at 4 am every morning!! My little naps are helping though, but emotional I'm trying to stay in control.

I almost cried at work while making drinks.. A group of mentally challenge people came in and I was washed over with sadness. It hit me like if ton of bricks. Working this much is messing with me emotionally. I'm trying to control it but my lack of sleep and stress is getting to me. Coming on here every morning is helping me in the last few days.

i wrote my dads name on my right wrist so customers couldn't see but I could. That man has been working 50-60 hours he's whole life. He's almost 60 and still doing it. He looks like he's 70 and his body and health is like a 90 year old. I wrote his name to remind me he's done these hours for years with hard labor and I shouldn't be whining for working 53 hours in a coffee shop. Also reminding me that I don't want to be where he is when I'm that old. It hurts my heart listening to him telling me how tired he is, how his arms are going numb and how much medication he's on. It kills me to know he has no options. But I do. And also I'm glad he gave me the life I have to have the back bone to stick up for what's right.

Tomorrow I'm setting boundaries with my managers. Their taking advantage of my role and it's because I'm allowing it. After my crying session yesterday I'm making changes.  I can't handle these hours but I'm going to because my dad did... Man now I'm about to cry again.. Gotta stop talking. Break over!

Oh man, a lot of that sucks.

But I'm glad you'll talk with the managers about boundaries. Get everything straight and it should ease a little, right?

*so many hugs*

Oh, and Rogue IS awesome, I've never been into comics (think just 'cause I never had any to read) but I loved that show--definitely one of my favorite characters (I didn't mind Jubilee, but its silly you had to play her instead of Rogue).
