5 days HasFit Hero 90 + 2 Yoga sessions per week + walking or rucking weekends. Alternate: Kettelbell routine or rucking session.

S:        Walking/Rucking - a very little bit of walking was had - did see Dr. Strange, though.

Week 1: Kicking into high gear while my body adjusts to keto was a foolish plan. For Week 2, I'll definitely keep the yoga and mobility and drop down to 1 HIIT workout + 1 additional if I keep feeling good all week.

Breakfast: Coffee with almond milk + fat bomb

Lunch: Ate out. Had a Cobb salad with grilled chicken & no cheese from SmashBurger

Snacks: 2 Tbsp. coconut butter + 1 Tbsp. guac while batch cooking

Water: A pot of tea at the movies, a bottle of water, a fancy pop & coffee

Week 1: This week was all about adjustments and getting my brain and body to play nice together. I'm still not quite there with the meal adjusting - I'm still getting too much protein to fat - but I'm getting there. Dropping the calorie judgement has helped immensely. My body is also getting back to normal, though I *did* have a dream about accidentally eating sweet potato fries in a burrito last night. I was om nom nom about it. No idea what that means.

@tishnicden: see, to me - I'm only vaguely close to my metrics. I realize *intellectually* that they're never going to be dead-on, but I still get irked.

Speaking of ...

Had another vivid-ass dream last night. For me, vivid dreams are really not that uncommon - but it's interesting to note that keto people report more vivid dreams.

So last night - this dream was inspired by the book I'm reading - Seven Eves - about the moon breaking up and people living in space. I woke up in the middle of the night crazy full of anxiety (but still really sleep-heavy) about my scheduled ship taking off without me.

Possible causes: Job hunting drama. Control issues brought up by new diet. Wanting to do allthethings but not being able to afford anyofthethings.

Interesting stuff.

No making yourself crazy! I'm glad to hear you're backing off on the calorie counting and hasfit insanity... That did not sound like it was treating you well. Also, totally to be expected that it'll take some transition time with keto - I know you think it's not too far off from what you were doing before, but for your body it's a major change!

@Fonzico: Yeeeeeah. I may have been a little over-zealous last week with the desire for fitness gainz aaaaand a little optimistic about how my body would handle the transition.

It's been rough.

And I'm trying not to drive myself crazy - it's hard, but I'm trying. Debt sucks and likes to throw me into a tailspin.

T:        X Hero 90 - Skipped

W:       Yoga Class + Splits Mobility + Handstand Mobility - yoga class was an asskicker. She had us dealing with being uncomfortable by holding hard poses for a bit. Woof that was a workout. 100% needed. I did a little hip work - what I could remember from the GMB video - before class started, and worked on some wrist mobility, balance point finding, and crow afterward.

The big muscles in my left thigh + strangely my back were not having full wheel tonight. My left arm also has something ripped up somewhere in there. Not sure why - my Monday yoga wasn't power yoga ...

Goal 2: Keto Macros

Snacks: 2 coconut Fat Bombs

Interviews Completed: 3. These were rough.

1. Interview at 9 am with an uber liberal PR firm. Needless to say, the interviewer was in no condition to be holding an interview. I was not in a good frame to be there either. She talked over me the whole time, we didn't even get to my qualifications, and she was generally disinterested in what I had to say. Awesome.

2. Google Hangout interview with someone in Poland who expected me to live code tic tac toe in JS in an hour. I addressed my crazy anxiety; I finished after the call and will send him today.

3. In-person at an office in Brooklyn. This one went better, and the workspace is cool. The company sounds cool - they're sending me a code challenge I'm nervous about.

Networking Events Attended: 0. There was an event at GA, but I just couldn't do it.

I know! It was freaking rough.

Aaaaand seems to have sparked some not-so-great shit aaaaalllll up in my head. #goodtimes

To the tune of I bailed on a yoga class I've really been missing with an instructor whose energy I could totally use in my life because I got all up in my head and too socially anxious to feel like I could walk through the door without being a weirdo, so I stayed home and had a little cry about it; DH comes home and has zero capacity for support to give (diet switches really fuck with his brain & he'd had a shit day too) - which made things of course worse.

Last night was fantastic.

Snack: Had 2 slices of cheese while cooking something for a friend's party (dumbass), and some of those delectable Fat Bombs (recipe went up on the blog this morning)

Dinner: Had zero time for dinner - had teacher training - stopped at Walgreens and bought a sleeve of smoked Almonds + bacon jerky

Snacks: A second serving of bacon jerky

Water: Not enough. 2 coffees, a third of a bottle of fancy pop before the instructor accidentally picked my bottle up and drank some, a mug of green tea, 2 tiny little cups of seltzer.

Yesterday

Goal 1: Work Out

2 days HasFit Hero 90 + 2 Yoga sessions per week + mobility work + handstands work + walking or rucking weekends. Alternate: Kettelbell routine or rucking session. 

M:       Yoga + Splits Mobility + Handstand Mobility

T:        X Hero 90 - skipped

W:       Yoga Class + Splits Mobility + Handstand Mobility

T:        X Hero 90 - skipped

F:        X Mobility work if I'm feeling froggy - was not feeling froggy

S:        Walking/Rucking - groceries & back

S:        X Walking/Rucking - I'm not counting this as a walk day, since we walked very little. Everyone's sleep was jacked up because the DH worked from 2 - 6 am and we stayed up for the fights, so no one was feeling like moving much - let alone walk all over creation. Stayed in bed as long as possible and only left the house around 2:30.

Week 2: So-so. I got half my workouts in, let my brain get the best of me, and had a ho-him weekend. I can do better.

Goal 2: Keto Macros

Breakfast: Rocketfuel latte

Lunch: Snacks - beef stick, almond butter squeezie, cheese chip & guac

Week 2: Overall, feeling much better this week. Still dealing with bouts of nausea, but handling the hangries and protein MUCH better overall.

@darkfoxx Do you mind sharing what is in the Rocketfuel latte?  I did hunt through your blog, but didn't find a recipe, so using my Google-Fu, I found this recipe.  Is this what you're using, or did you tweak it to something more awesome?

@BlamedCat: That's exactly the recipe I'm using!

It's ok. Definitely doesn't fill me up until lunch, but it gives a little more substance than just coffee.

That's good to know.  I've been craving something a little more to my coffee and or teas as of late, since i cut out all the 'dessert' coffees n such.  I'll have to give this a shot to see if it'll at least partially fill that void on occasion. :)

Yesterday

Goal 1: Work Out

2 days HasFit Hero 90 + 2 Yoga sessions per week + mobility work + handstands work + walking or rucking weekends. Alternate: Kettelbell routine or rucking session. 

M:       Yoga (:25 harder than I wanted baths yoga for arm strength) + Splits Mobility + Handstand Mobility - did the mobility and then got annoyed I wasn't actually practicing handstands, so worked on getting up without kicking (unsuccessful) and then kicking up (success - and I didn't even leap/kick like I used to have to).

Goal 2: Keto Macros

Today's food was set on difficult level.

The smoothies I've made this week are a little carb-heavy, so I have to be careful.

One of my lunches (a salad) is a little carby too.

My DH ate double breakfast this morning, and shoved lunch down, so we couldn't have the salmon dinner I wanted - after carefully mapping my day so the protein-heavy salmon would fit.

Which left me with no meat at lunch, making for a very sad and very unfulfilled me.

1431 of 1318 calories

20 of 20g net carbs

64.74 of 70g protein

112.55 of 106g fats

Breakfast: A different smoothie involving coconut water + coffee

Lunch: An unsatisfying cruciferous crunch salad with lemon rosemary dressing

Snacks: 2 coconut fat Bombs + 1 ounce pepperoni because lunch had zero protein

Dinner: Cheese crust pizza with ground beef & guac

Water: 1 coffee, 2 mugs of tea, 1 fancy pop, half a bottle water
