Yesterday

Goal 1: Work Out

2 days HasFit Hero 90 + 2 Yoga sessions per week + mobility work + handstands work + walking or rucking weekends. Alternate: Kettelbell routine or rucking session. 

M:       Yoga + Splits Mobility + Handstand Mobility

T:        X Hero 90

W:       Yoga Class + Splits Mobility + Handstand Mobility - we did wall-assisted L-Sit handstands in class. They were killer and fantastic.

Goal 2: Keto Macros

1375.5 of 1318 calories

19.6 of 20g net carbs

67.96 of 70g protein

109.27 of 106g fats

Breakfast: Last Smoothie of the week

Lunch: 2 Tbsp guac + 1.5 ounces chicken + 1 hard boiled egg + 2 Tbsp mayo

Dinner: A riff on fried rice with ground pork, river broccoli & an egg

Snacks: 1 coconut fat bomb

Water: 1 coffee, 1 bottle water, 2 fancy pops

Today was significantly better than yesterday. My stomach was fine, I had adequate energy, and life was good.

Goal 3: Get A Job!

Jobs Applied For: Hit my weekly quota

Interviews Completed: 2 - a quick phone screen & a round 2 with the CEO of the company I took the code challenge for last week. The interview went really well - the boss really likes my entire background and can see many different ways i could be plugged into the team. She mentioned the potential of quickly shifting the job scope if they hire me to include more of what all I bring to the table as opposed to strictly development. I really loved her feedback and think that's a more realistic job outlook.

Networking Events Attended: 0 - was supposed to go to a talk at a friend's workplace, but my interview got pushed back by an hour, so I got to go to yoga instead.

Did I Work On Gs Stuff? Yep - completed a bunch of wireframes.

Did I work on TA stuff? Nothing to do here

When Round 2 includes the CEO it's usually a good sign. Conversations like these are usually a good sign. I won't throw a hex on this, but...

Round 3 went even better - the CEO passed me to the lead designer, and she really liked me as well. We had a great time chatting and I think our personalities could work well together. She is also super excited about all the skills I bring to the table and can see a bunch of ways what I do can fill in gaps they need filling.

And this position is remote, too - with daily support meetings and a team that uses Google Hangouts to catch up and collaborate.

T:        X Hero 90 - skipped. I was at a job fair then spent time catching up & commiserating with a friend over coffee and didn't get home until I needed to make dinner or die

Breakfast: (dense little, strangely crunchy) Keto Bread & sun butter

Lunch: Roast beef sandwich on more of that bread because dammit it was expensive to make and someone needs to eat it

Dinner: Chicken, guac & mayo - I was starving to death; the DH wasn't hungry

Snacks: Emergency train rations - beef sticks, macadamias & flavored sunflower seeds

Water: Way too little - 2 cups coffee, 1 bottle water, half a fancy pop

This is even more encouraging. In my experience, you don't even get to this level of interviewing unless you're a finalist. And seeing an interviewer excited about you during the interview is usually a pretty telling sign about how they're leaning.

No word from the prospective job - to be expected, though.

In the meantime, I suddenly have two code challenges that need doing this weekend. Booooooo. We shall see what gets done - I think I technically have Monday to complete one; the other is due Sunday evening (though I warned the chick that I was busy over the weekends). I'm not a fan of working on weekends, and this does not bode well for either company.

Buuuuut, I can't put all my eggs in one basket.

S:        Walking/Rucking - took a walk around the neighborhood and soaked up as much sun possible in the couple of hours we were out. Then I got worn out by the grocery store.

S:        Walking/Rucking - walked a very little because the wind was so bad we felt beat up, and the metal street signs were wiggling so much we were legit afraid of being Final Destinationed while walking to the hipster market

Week 3: Another so-so week. That HIIT is just not happening right now. Next challenge I'm amending goals to 3 days yoga + handstand work + Stacy's yoga challenge.

Week 3: Still doing well with macros, was overall not as sick this week but still wasn't perfect.

Weekend. Didn't do that code challenge - just stewed over being expected to drop everything and do it over a weekend in the first place. Also looked at the repo she wanted me to fork, and there are 430-something forks. This company has only been around a couple of years - what are the odds that they've given it to a bazillion people in the last month and are one of those companies that either need to interview all of damn NYC, or they've already got someone in the pipeline. Red flags.

I emailed saying I could have it to her EOD Monday. I have another challenge due EOD Monday for a company I have never spoken to.

Week 3: Sucked at going to networking events again, but had fantastic interviews.

I wouldn't bother, sounds like one of those places where they expect your whole identity to be your job.

Yeah, I wouldn't have worked on it over a weekend, either, nor would I have expected an interviewee to do so. Those red flags are there for a reason.

I emailed yesterday after NFing that I would have it to her by EOD, and I sent it off in advance of that. It was actually rather fun - inline styling in an iframe - but not exactly what I'm looking for.

Also sent off the other thing, which was more of a research & graphics test than a code challenge.

Yesterday

Goal 1: Work Out

2 days HasFit Hero 90 + 2 Yoga sessions per week + mobility work + handstands work + walking or rucking weekends. Alternate: Kettelbell routine or rucking session. 

M:       X Yoga + X Splits Mobility + X Handstand Mobility

T:        X Hero 90 - did a 15-minute yoga class on jump-throughs, and my GI tract was unhappy about that much movement. Buuuuut, since I've posted elsewhere about mandatory 3 days of yoga this week, I figured I should get off my ass and do some come hell, high water, or gastric distress.

Goal 2: Keto Macros

1328.5 of 1318 calories

19.3 of 20g net carbs

65.2 of 70g protein

100.72 of 106g fats

Breakfast: Cacao & sun Butter smoothie

Lunch: Indian buffet - tandoori chicken, a cabbage side, a couple bites of fish, and salad

Dinner: Another type of Keto pancake with butter because I had. No protein left In the budget (was supposed to be a sandwich with pork Rind crusted chicken, which the DH had)

Snacks: None

Water: Coffee, half a bottle of water, 1 fancy pop, 2 mugs tea, 1 extra lunch coffee, 1 glass of lunch water

Happy (late) Turkey Day y'all!

Yesterday

Did not track macros, but did make a killer Keto-friendly spread.

Broiled green beans

My take on giblet gravy

Turkey (+ bonus bone broth with the carcass)

Loaded cauliflower (I successfully managed to only have one bite)

Lemon squares

The rest of the day was spent watching YouTube videos (because I now have a damn addiction), napping with the dog, researching Japanese Keto foods, researching Black Friday yarn deals, and half-watching the MST3K marathon.
