It is time once again to regenerate. It's been a fun run in this body, but seriously it's time to go...

ninth+doctor+regeneration+1.gif

but one can hope I'm going to end up with a much healthier model. Maybe ginger?

This time around I'm going to try to keep it simple, we'll not be saving the world, just taking in the sights, getting acquainted with my companion(s) and see if we can survive.

ca79bc6a100976ce6057211710e9b79b.gif

Step One: Nutrition

After a regeneration it is important to get the right nutrition -

I will be doing the elimination diet again this challenge. I was sooooo close last time I tried, almost made it to the end, and choked 2 days before the reintroduction phase and went wild on alcohol and sweet treats.

This time in order to keep on track more, I will be posting my meals on youfood daily still, but also keeping a detailed journal about how I am feeling. I will also be making a reintroduction plan to make sure once I get to the end I know in what order I'm doing things.

scoring for this: Each Meal posted on Youfood is worth 1 point with a maximum of 3 pts per day, with a half pt for snacks. bonus point at end of week for posting a meal plan on Friday.

Step Two: Movement

The doctor and his companions are always on the go, running... and running... and dancing... lots of dancing

tumblr_inline_nh6yenxVhJ1t16ovi.gif

second goal this month is to move every day. on alternating days I'll go between bodyweight workouts designed to help get me ready for aerial silks when I can afford it, and dancing to kpop music. For bonus points I will post a Wednesday bridgeclub photo on Facebook, on Friday I will post a video of my kpop dancing progress. I think this challenge I will continue working on Dope by BTS as this one is seriously killing me.  At least once a week I will have a rest day, which will consist of yoga/stretching for flexibility.

Scoring: 3 pts for each completed workout (less awarded if not completed, but started), 2 pt for a bridge club photo, 2 points for Kpop Video.

Step Three: Rest

sleep.gif

I just got news today that I will be starting a new job on Sunday night, and it's the first time I will be working 3rd shift. I need to establish a workable sleep schedule to be productive in everything else, so I will be making a goal to wear my cpap to bed every day, and will award myself points for how long I sleep, and bonus points for hacking my sleep.

Scoring: 3 pts daily for sleeping 8 hours with CPAP, 2 pts for 6 hours with CPAP, 1pt if below 6 hours or without CPAP. bonus points for these hacks:

.5 pt for each time an essential oil is used to aid sleep. 5 points for purchasing blackout curtains and clearing them with landlord. 5 points for purchasing mouth guard, 5 points for purchasing eye mask, .5 pt for using soothing music or white noise.

BONUS LIFE GOAL: Cleaning House

Each day I will be taking 20-60 minutes to deep clean one aspect of the apartment. We recently had a city inspection which did not go so well, so my landlord is breathing down our necks to get the place cleaned up. Each day I will pick a room or section of a room (such as a set of cabinets, or an oven or closet) to work for 20-60 minutes (depending on the size of the project) and really clean organize and consolidate. I'm tired of living in clutter.

For accountability I will take Daily Before and After photos which will be posted once a week for tips, or if there's anything that looks like it may have been missed.  This will be a passed goal if at the end of the challenge the apartment is inspection worthy, A/O passes a follow up inspection if we have one in this time.

Thank you, I am slowly but surely getting better at this whole sticking with it thing. Each time I go longer and longer, maybe this time I'll actually make it all four weeks lol.

And yes K-pop dances ftw!

What's an elimination diet?

Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

It's a diet used to determine what you are sensitive or allergic to food wise. You start off by eliminating the common allergens and foods that people are generally sensitive to (nuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, corn, most red meats (lamb and wild game are okay), most grains (rice is allowed), caffeine, sugar, alcohol, yeast, and some even goes as far as to eliminate nightshades) and do this for 3 weeks to really flush your system of not only the toxins, and food, but the antibodies your body builds for them. After 21 days you start adding foods back in one at a time. You start with eating one food for a day, and tracking how your body handles it for that day, then don't eat it for the next two days and track any long term effects. If your body doesn't react adversely, you can add it back into your diet no problem, and you move on to the next item, until you've tried adding everything back in. then you know what foods affect you and how, and can make better decisions on your nutritional needs when creating your nutritional plans. Its really pretty hard at first if you're like me and like variety... cuz you're basically just eating veggies and chicken or fish... but i think it's definitely orth the work, I was feeling amazing by the 3rd week in the elimination phase, but then a party happened and i was stressed out and totally threw it out the window... right before the reintro phase started >_< it was ridiculous.

it took forever for me to get to the point where I could follow it. Basically i got to a point where i was in so much pain and i was constantly having migraines, and having stomach issues that were causing me to be late to work and losing money... and even then it still took going to camp to really let me release and just do it.

I love the K-pop dancing challenge, that's awesome!!

And I really think the hardest part of the elimination diet is the reintroduction period.  It's like, finally you get to have some of the foods again, and after all of this deprivation suddenly you're supposed to exercise moderation?  Moderation is way harder than exclusion, if you ask me.

But you can do it!  We're all rooting for you!

Hurray the challenge is here. Starting off strong with a weeks meals planned. Prepping will commence today. Also got 6.5 hours on my cpap, and used a new essential oil for sleeping, and a new one to wake up (which is reminiscent of carrot cake) so excited!

sorry for the lack of update.

It's been a pretty rough start to my goals, but we just keep trucking, yeah?

So here's the thing:

I didn't get as much food prepped as I had planned on Sunday, I'm thinking I will need to move my food prep day to Saturday so I can get enough sleep after church to get to work Sunday night. This means that shopping day will be moved to Friday afternoon/evening (minus farmer's market which is on Saturday only) This will give me the time and prep I need to get this done and stay on better track with my eating. Hopefully by this week all the candy and ice cream and other junk in this house will be gone also, so I won't have the temptation of it in the house.

Doctor+who+gif+dump+_9d948c_5256258.gif

on the exercise front... well this one's a bit tricky. My new job is actually a lot more manual labor than I was really expecting, so basically I do a ton of picking up and moving heavy things and so when I come home I just stretch everything out and massage. I have been doing inversions to help decompress my back, and will still do Wednesday Bridge club (photo will be loaded in about an hour or two, it was too dark to take a pic of one this morning when I got home.) but I may change Friday dance day to a flexible Friday, and instead take a pic of splits or something else flexible after all my bendy work after work. I'll figure it out and surprise you guys on Friday.

tumblr_static_doctor_surprise.gif

(I expect this to be your faces btw)

Sleep: This is actually probably the only area I am doing pretty well in. Yesterday I got a full 8 hours sleep, and was pleasantly shocked about it, the day before only got about 5, and today only about 6 but I will likely take a nap too, something loud woke me up today and I couldn't fall back to sleep, so i decided to run errands (gotta pay that rent >_<)

tumblr_mcd0vupnRL1qhap1n.gif

but I have been using my cpap every day, eye mask, and essential oils (although I skipped the essential oils for sleeping today) it's been very pleasant!

Cleaning House...

umm...

tumblr_nw3f7c41eD1urxr04o1_500.gif

finally got the dishes done Monday afternoon... and promptly used them all for dinners. It doesn't help that we are cooking separate meals for myself and then my SO and son, since I'm (supposed to be) following this crazy elimination diet, and also on a totally different time clock. so 2 separate meals a night, means soooo many dishes. The kitchen is a disaster and I want nothing to do with it, cuz it just gets worse every time I make it better

TVqYTkm.gif

but it has to get done, so I will keep at it. Reading a book about keeping the kitchen organized and clutter free, and how to make it functional, so hopefully this will help.

Thanks for being patient with me you guys, I'm still adjusting to all this... newness...

(btw can you tell who my favorite doctor is yet? xD)

Sorry you had a rough start to the challenge, but that's ok. Part of the regen process. :)

Yeah if it was easy I wouldn't be restarting xD
