SnowOwl
Three day weekend! I might go in one day to get things organized, but we’ll see howI'm feeling. Quests: Tuesday Leave work at 4pm: Yes, I left at 3:30. Do not go into work on the weekends: 1/1 Build consistency in my classroom: Still steadily improving, had a few difficult moments with two of my boys today though. Bring fitness back: I did broad jumps for the mini! (Not sure what I was doing, but my wrists hurt afterwards, lol.) I did my broad jumps across the living room back and forth. My dog thought it was the most exciting thing ever and tried to jump up to my face everytime I jumped. It's very difficult to jump when you are pushing a dog out of the way and laughing so hard. Makes it a lot more fun though! 4 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment
SnowOwl
Slight bump in the road last night. My husband broke his big toe pretty badly. The emergency room doc thought he better get it set by a specialist so he has to elevate and ice it until a specialist can see him. Due to the emergency room visit, we didn't even get dinner until almost 11pm and we're both very tired today. (We usually go to bed by 9:30 since I have to get up at 5:30 for school so that's really late for us.) I spent much of today getting the house tidied up and getting groceries for the week and trying to stay awake. Quests: Friday and Saturday Leave work at 4pm: n/a Do not go into work on the weekends: Yes, I’m doing good with this. Build consistency in my classroom: n/a Bring fitness back: 24 tuck jumps for the mini 2 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment

SnowOwl
Mood not great, seems to be getting worse every time I take a break from work. I did get out for a few minutes to take my dog for a walk though. I also took some 5htp and did some work from home, my mood seems a bit better. I think I'm very overwhelmed at planning for this week with my husband injured. He really supports me through the week. I made a call and may have someone who can come over and help get dishes washed and take the dog out for a hike, but I have to find time to return her call and meet with her. Quests: Friday and Saturday Leave work at 4pm: n/a Do not go into work on the weekends: Yes, I’m doing good with this. SnowOwl
Husband made it in to podiatrist today and his bone is set, but not stable. He is supposed to stay off it this week (air cast for bathroom trips) and then go in for more x-rays on Monday. Praying he does not need surgery. I am falling behind at school with grading and my classroom is a mess, so I hired a friend of a friend to come in and clean tomorrow. I’m super excited, (I’ve never had someone clean before) but a bit nervous too - right now I’m not sure she can find things to clean under the mess…but at least we’ll have clean dishes when I get home! Quests: Monday Leave work at 4pm: yes - left a mess, but I did it. Do not go into work on the weekends: n/a (but I think I will have to go in one day next weekend and get things organized) Build consistency in my classroom: I didn’t do so good with this today. I’m not sure why I didn’t keep up, I think I was just tired. Mondays are super important discipline days as the kids are always hyper and way too chatty on Mondays. Bring fitness back: nothing today 1 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment

I know a lot of people who would let mood become an obstacle for them. As for the other stuff, take it one moment at a time. SnowOwl
Hiring someone to help clean was the Best Decision Ever! Coming home after a long day to clean dishes, clean sheets, clean bathtub is better than Christmas morning! Quests: Monday Leave work at 4pm: yes! Do not go into work on the weekends: n/a (so far 100%) Build consistency in my classroom: My kids were so good today I didn't have to do anything, but I will keep working on making everyday good by being consistent with expectations and consequences. Bring fitness back: walked to the neighbor's house and back? (sad, but better than nothing) You know what's not fun? Being all excited for a nice hot bath in your clean tub and ending up deskunking your dog in there instead. Oh well, at least it wasn't too bad, mostly a side swipe. 5 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment
SnowOwl
Quests: Wednesday (I keep copying and pasting days wrong...) Leave work at 4pm: today is a required late day, so no, but I left the very second the clock struck 4:30. (I actually packed up and headed to the door 30 seconds before my end time. ) Yes Do not go into work on the weekends: n/a (so far 100%) Build consistency in my classroom: I restructured my class and delegated some of this over to "prefects" to help me be more consistent. Bring fitness back: yoga class - went even though I was almost in tears wanting to just have some quiet time at home, feeling better afterwards (of course) 3 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment
SnowOwl
Have you seen this idea floating around of spaghetti dinners? You invite everyone from friends to random travelers over for dinner and make a big pot of spaghetti. I went to one tonight at a neighbor's house and it was wonderful - messy house, kids running around, completely informal and welcoming. Many people host it every week. I was thinking I would be really stressed out to try something like that, but after tonight I am going to think about it (just as a one time thing). Their sink was full of dirty dishes and no-one cared. The food was simple and it was great. Everyone was just so happy to be there. I'm really glad I responded to the Facebook announcement and went! Quests: Thursday Leave work at 4pm: yes! Do not go into work on the weekends: n/a (so far 100%) Build consistency in my classroom: I restructured my class and delegated some of this over to "prefects" to help me be more consistent. Day one of this plan went awesome! I had 5th/6th graders sitting at their desks, eyes on me, hands folded on their desks looking eager! The room was clean at the end of day too. I just said "5 points to Hippogriffin" and all the other "houses" were trying everything they could think of to earn points for their house. I sure hope this continues to be fun and effective for them. Bring fitness back: no, must get on this tomorrow before the mini-challenge is over for this week (dinner with real adult conversation was more important tonight) 6 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment
Owlet
Spaghetti night sounds amazing! Even though I'm trying to eat less carbs haha. I think the benefits of such a social gathering would outweigh the carb effects though. Good on you for going! And good idea with the house points, sounds like it worked a treat. 1 Quote Current Challenge Link to comment
SnowOwl
Friday! Quests: Friday Leave work at 4pm: yes! Do not go into work on the weekends: n/a (so far 100%) Build consistency in my classroom: I still suck at this. I need to post a reminder to myself so I don't forget to give out formal warnings early on. The house system was still awesome today. I had two boys who would not stop talking and I was thinking I'm going to have to do something about them after this lesson and then the next time I walked over there their prefect had already separated their desks and the problem was taken care of! Bring fitness back: yes, I accomplished the first of three mini tasks for the week (I was sitting here waiting for "perfect" and realized that was just procrastinating and did what I could now.) 4 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment
Ensi
The forum unsubscribed me x__x Oooh having someone clean up for you sounds like a bliss!! Why not use services like that, if you can? Maybe organize a spaghetti evening and hire someone clean up afterwards 1 Quote -:*~ Journal ~*:- Link to comment

I'm thinking we may for some deep cleaning once every month or two. Now that I'm employed full-time we can afford occasional help, but not very often. The problem will be finding someone in our area. This time I hired someone from my yoga class who happened to be between jobs, but she won't be for long and she's not an experienced cleaner. It was amazing though and very worth the money. (I actually thought, I wouldn't mind all my salary going to this if she would only cook for me too, lol.) I somehow lost Saturday...I did one thing for the mini, had a nap, worked from bed, and occasionally waited on my injured husband. I did good today! I did some housecleaning and laundry. Organized a dog playgroup and took my dog to it (which included a 1 mile people walk too). Grocery shopped for Thanksgiving and did a mini intro to pilates video with my husband. My eating was not good today, but with Thanksgiving coming it should get better - I bought all real food with good ingredients, except for the stuffing/dressing mix because it was the only choice and I LOVE stuffing/dressing. Quests: Sunday Leave work at 4pm: n/a Do not go into work on the weekends: Yes! Build consistency in my classroom: n/a Bring fitness back: getting better! I went for a walk today and I did a short pilates video. 6 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment
SnowOwl
Umm, I guess I forgot to post this week. Things have been going well though. Quests: All week... Leave work at 4pm: I did pretty well. I left at 4:15 a couple of days, but it was a planned decision and made my week much smoother. Do not go into work on the weekends: I have not been in on a weekend in weeks! Build consistency in my classroom: Still working on this. I made some progress, but I need to set up some things to help me get this down. Bring fitness back: Consistent improvement! I did all four tasks for the mini-challenge this week, plus walked the dog a few times. This challenge was very basic, but it has helped me get back on track. Next challenge will continue with this theme - baby steps. 6 Quote Race: Elf ~ Class: Druid Apprentice ~ Level: 12 Current Challenge 2015-2016 Challenges: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve 2018-2019 Challenges: (first one in progress) Link to comment
