Reboot Valere

Recommended Posts

Alright, time to get back on the horse.

Valere, 35 years old, living on an island on the west coast of Sweden.

Tried doing a SWC about a year ago, but things got in the way and I never finished. Pretty much haven't done any working out since then, but just bought my first ever gym card. A bit terrified because I've hardly ever set foot in a gym, and I'm not good with new things. But, card also includes swimming and classes, so I'll try to get a nice balance between gym work and other activities.

I'll probably add to this introductory post when I'm less tired, but I figured I should at least get it up and running.

I'll be starting easy this week, with swimming tomorrow, and yoga on Thursday. I'll try to book an intro to the gym(s) as well, so that I can get over my fear of getting trapped in the machines and being laughed at by all the other gym goers.

Ok, so swimming went well, even though I didn't really push myself. Didn't want to overdo it the first time, but rather work on making it a habit. Arms are tired, though, which feels rather nice. :)

Already looking forward to yoga on Thursday, even though it was supposed to be before school, and school got cancelled. So now I'll be doing 2x1 hours on public transport, for one hour of yoga. Feels a bit silly, but I'd rather not cancel. And besides, I can find some nice library in town, and do some school work. All is well.

Yoga today was lovely. Very soft, while still managing to make my legs sore, and no positions that felt rough on my joints. Unfortunately, this was apparently not a regular class, so after next Thursday I might have to take regular yoga instead. Not a huge deal, but a pity since this one felt so perfect.

I'll be away for the weekend, so no workouts, although there will probably be plenty of walks.

Next week is intro to the gym, and then whatever exercises they tell me to do.

So far, so good.

This has been a pretty crappy week, for no clearly definable reason. Almost no activity, not even yoga, and eating has been irregular. But, next week will be better, I think.

If you like yoga, do you think you'd be interested in videos to use at home?

I've tried doing yoga at home, but I suck at getting things done, so I usually end up just not doing it, and then feeling bad about it. Maybe I should give it another go.

Well, I ended up getting sick, so maybe the week didn't turn out as great as I thought. But the sun has been out for a couple of hours almost every day, I'm feeling much better, and even though I have a ton of schoolwork to do, I've finally been able to schedule an introduction to the gym for Saturday, so after that it'll be a lot easier to squeeze in spontaneous workouts.

So, all in all, it's not too bad. :)
