That girl's battle log!

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone! How's it going?

So it's been a few weeks since I signed up on here, not really posting much but did a lot of lurking. Lol

Anyways,  I have always wanted to post my workouts somewhere so I can keep track of them, and I figured this would be the best place.

So a little about me:

female, 5'6", 164lbs

body fat 28%

goal is to drop weight and body fat to ideal

So for my workouts, I try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week, sometimes because of work I barely make it happen. Lol. Weekends, I try to head for outdoor workouts like running, whatever that'll keep me sweating. For my diet, I follow a low-carb high protein diet, I eat at least 1800 on off days, 2,200 on gym days. Supplements..  well going au naturel for now, but will probably try something soon.

Today I trained arms, and here's what I did:

25 minute run on treadmill
8x3 10lb bent over barbell rows
8x3 10lbs shoulder overhead press
8x3 20lb triceps pushdown
8x3 bench dips
10x3 10lb dumbbell alt bicep curls
10x3 10lb pushup rows
10x3 10lb triceps kickbacks
5 minute walk on treadmill (cool down)

Update:

Today was just cardio:

15 minutes jump rope
4 sets, 5 minutes burpees
4 sets, 3 minutes minutes jumping jacks
20x4 wall balls
20x4 tuck jumps
20x4 mountain climbers
20x4 squat jumps
20x4 high knees
20x4 plank jacks
20x4 skater plyos

Supplement -wise, still looking for the right products. But I've been considering these:

http://www.gnc.com/Royal-Sport-LTD-Cardio-Rush-Blue-Raspberry/product.jsp?productId=65317406 - I do a lot of cardio mostly so this might work best for me

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/gym-angel/energy-angel.html - or this one that is a formula that is specially designed for women

Has anybody ever tried these? How did they work for you guys? Thanks for your input!

Okay glad that the holidays are over, been terribly busy. Skipped a few workouts... boo. But its good to be back!

So here is today's workout:

15 minutes stationary bike

10 burpees x 15 jumping jacks x 20 ventral jacks x 25 half burpees x 10 jump squats

set of 5

So for a preworkout, I bought a liquid L carnitine and I'm only 2 days into trying it. I got the one from GNC: http://www.gnc.com/GNC-Total-Lean-Liquid-L-Carnitine-Iced-Tea-with-Lemon/product.jsp?productId=4452496

Heard that the prices are ridiculous at GNC, lol, but the one I purchased is only $17 dollars, enough for 30 days, so I guess it's not so bad. I'll see how it works. Hopefully it helps in melting down the fat fast. I'll keep you all posted.

Happy New Year!

Hey ThatGirl! Keep up the good work! I am not sure about these products here cause I haven't tried them. Is the first one supposed to be a Pre workout? Seems to be something like that. What makes it more "cardio?" Also, it seem pricey :). Second one looks like a typical pre workout. You may want to pick ONE of those for pre workout, then add a BCAA for while you're working out. Just my two cents :P.

Hello, thank you for your reply! Yes, I'm just posting down the links here for me to look at when I've finally decided which ones to buy. So basically, I'm just keeping them on here for future reference, and for you guys to check out and comment your thoughts. The cardio thing sure is a little pricey, but I do a lot of cardio most of the time so I thought that might be good for me.. but Idk, still checking and doing my research. How are BCAAs working for you? Heard a lot of good things about them!

I myself love BCAAs ;). That and creatine! I feel like I have less problem with losing muscle mass if I use BCAAs and I also find it curbs the sweet tooth a bit since it tastes like fruit bunch :P.

I will def get myself some BCAAs. Read that they help in fat loss, too. Which is my goal. :)

Here's a quick workout from today:

200 counts jump rope
5 minutes HIIT on stationary bike

4 rounds
15 15lb single arm kettlebell swing to press
15 20lb ball slam
15 20lb kettlebell swing

Fat loss has been slow lately, been thinking about getting some CLA.

Looking at this from MuscleTech - http://www.gnc.com/MuscleTech-CLA-4X-SX-7-Black-Onyx/product.jsp?productId=81017536

vs this one from BPI - http://www.gnc.com/BPI-CLA-Carnitine/product.jsp?productId=121147756

What do you guys think? Anybody tried this? The one from BPI is cheaper and also has some L-Carnitine to it so I guess it works better than just CLA alone?
