I just need a WHOLE LOT OF WORK to get these transitions hapenning! I'll admit that I haven't really done any arm balancing for at least 3 months, so I'm really wobbly with everything. But hey, since everyone else is doing the crow to 8 angle, I gave it a try, too. I'm not even slightly close to being able to do the reverse move. Somehow, even though my leg fits through my arms (barely) while pushing forward, I really don't have the flexibility to pull it back through. 3 Quote Level 30? who the hell knows anymore? I don't think it's a question of flexibility on the way back but lack of pressing strength. On the way down to 8-angle the hips and shoulder lower down, which is much easier than the reverse movement where you need to press up without any momentum. Though actually I think you do have that strength and that it's only a matter of applying it. Quote Link to comment

Anything that shifts the weight slightly more forward may help a bit. I haven't played with that one yet so no practical advice yet from meee. @Nymeria So happy to see you in here!! I think you have the strength to get back, definitely! It's similar compression/strength to getting out there. Maybe trying to keep your hips a little bit higher or pushing them a bit higher when you try to come back will help, which I now see Mad Hatter also mentioned. I am bummed I can't find a good place to film when I try to practice in my house. I may be able to shift some things around in the living room... but it'll be tight. We'll seeee I guess! Haha I did think about taking my pants off - but especially this time of year my legs are so cold and dry they're even slippier! And using grip aid felt like overkill. Possibly , but it feeels like I can't go any further forward. I forgot to get a video but I'll take one and post it tonight. I was really shocked but just how difficult the actual transitions were. I think they make for a more convenient resting place that far out when I am trying use them to swap between sides? Not entirely sure. The trick with the headstand to sidecrow for me was to try to ground the knees on the top of the elbow/just a bit higher than the elbow and make sure they are really ON THERE before starting to come up from the headstand. I slipped on a few and I think the tuck was too tight or coming in too high on the arm compared to normal side crow so when I tried to push out of the headstand, it dumped my legs onto the ground. Also during one of my headstand -> side crow attempts, half of my abdominals totally cramped up. It was the weirdest feeling. Ooh this is interesting! I've been purposefully trying to tuck as much as possible to more easily control the descent but maybe that's the completely wrong strategy. The experiment will resume. I tried pressing upward much more aggressively than I had been, and I was able to thread the leg back through. I'm having a different problem with the headstand to side crow: I can get my legs in position just fine, but I'm putting in too much momentum and over-rotating back to my feet when I pick up my head. I also managed to do headstand to scorpion, but I failed to get a video. I'm so jealous of all of the firefly action. That is a move for which I just lack the flexibility, since my pancake is not even close to where it needs to be. This PVP is great though! It's just what I needed to rekindle my arm balancing and NF enthusiasm. 3 Quote Level 30? who the hell knows anymore? Accidentally went into tripod headstand instead of just pressing straight up. Next time I think I need to squeeze my legs together more and try to hold it for a few more seconds at the top instead of coming straight down.
