That's weird, if you take out your training short vids, doesn't look like you're spending that much time on Facebook

I probably spend a lot of time on retakes. I can't have my followers seeing a bad angle of me. Haha. (I'm kidding, of course. I have no bad angles. I also have no good ones. Just sadly overwhelmingly average. #UltimateMediocrity)

I laughed really hard at this. To be fair, I'm so busy being impressed by what you can do, I don't pay attention to what kind of angle you are using to film.

Oh wow, I see your self confidence game is through the roof :P

It's like when you're younger and girls and/or boys are all acting interested in you, and you have to say "no" or "let me think about it" to one or two of them. Except this time it's employment opportunities. Because adult life.

There must be an art to this, because some of the people I follow in Instagram are able to look stunning all the time. Or maybe they just have friends to take videos for them.

So found on the accountability report that I tend to lose a lot of hours attempting to sleep and that Wednesday and Friday (which are my days off) are usually wasted on lollygagging and BS, probably because deep inside I feel like I deserve to decompress because I have to wake up at 4:30 on Tuesday and Thursday, and end up taking it too far. I'll have to find a way to address those. Situational awareness.

Went to a Chinese Weightlifting seminar on Saturday, and I found out how much I suck at Weightlifting. Can't get the timing on the second pull.

Also, for the Instagram and Facebook followers, there was an actual job interview, but it was at a CrossFit gym, so I didn't actually wear that. (The tie and slacks were for a class presentation.)

The feels. Let me know how that works out for you, I'm in somewhat of a similar predicament myself but my plate is just too full to tackle that as well right now.

Lol at the video, hope the interview went well. People need you as a trainer ;)

I think it went well, but they're looking for someone with different availability. Oh well.

Anyway, currently suffering from soda withdrawals. Anyone with any tips here? I'm about to sprint to 7-11 to get a bottle.

Step away from the soda!

I no longer drink soda, but I remember how hard it was to stop. One thing I used to do was get sparkling water instead of soda (actually, this is my go to now when I want something other than water through the day). Sparkling Ice has some really good flavors.

I was never into soda, but I remember Teros' story of the RPG Fanatics and Sodamus, a demonic goblin-king that mixed the pus from festering blisters on his skin with loads of sugar to create "soda" drinks that had the population addicted, fat and lethargic. Every time I'm tempted, my mind instantly thinks "there's someone's pus in there"

What exactly is sparkling water? I've heard of it, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

Might not be a good idea for me. I find soda so delicious I might start tasting pus. Haha

So rough week. Finals, which I'm not really confident about, then my final Literature Review--the Colossus I've been trying to dodge the past semester but eventually had to face.

tumblr_m93j8zZHgm1r9cnbe.gif

It was a hell of a grind, but I finally got it done and submitted at 12am on the dot. 23-something pages in two days (because my time management sucks). Arguably the biggest boss I'd have to face in my Masters program. Now I'm just waiting for my grades. If all goes well, I'll have one more course I need a B in in order to graduate.

Wars like this take their toll on the body. But I believe this acute stress may be good for us in the long run, as long as we allot enough time for recovery after.

It's that chronic, low-level stress that slowly wears us down and then creeps up on us later, and we drop dead at 55 out of nowhere.

Soda quitting was almost a success. Finished the last can of Ginger Ale on Sunday, then had to fuel my college paper-writing with pizza and Mountain Dew, so Thursday and Friday were out. Otherwise, no soda. We'll see how it goes next week.

There are actually two different products that are sparkling water, even though they are all a little bit different. (Link here).

Paper writing definitely needs some kind of pick up! Good luck!

5# PR on the Snatch yesterday on the Chinese method, and did another interview. Not my best, but whatever. I'm at a point where I'm just showing up to interviews without expecting to be hired. Might be a good thing, might be bad; who knows?

I have a Soda Stream at home and make my own.  That way I have just the bubbly water with no flavors or I can add flavor but I control the syrup quantity!

Good luck on the interviews.  I find that it always helps to know the company/business you are interviewing with even if you do no other prep that one can be huge.

Oh the interviews are done. I'm just showing up for a workout tomorrow. I usually put my internet creeping skills to research the company and potentially my interviewer. (The latest one was a pretty new company, so there wasn't much info.) It's always the same though, they see a stacked résumé so they schedule an interview. Then they are treated to my social skills, which currently has about a 91% success rate of being a deal-breaker. Meh. Life. Not everyone was cut out to be a courtier.

Can I ask what type of work you are interviewing for?  I used to want to type up my answers to the most popular targeted interview questions and when asked they asked the first one say "here, I typed the answers up for you so we could save time and you could ask me something that was more meaningful".  Probably not the right thing to do though.  Would have been fun to do at a job I had no desire to get though.

Current Challenge

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
Diet is 80% of losing weight, exercise is 80% of motivation.

The only thing I am 100% sure of is my ability to be wrong.

I second Peelout's question.  After googling what "courtier" meant, I'm fairly certain those jobs don't exist anymore. :P  At least not in the United States.  Haha... but on a serious note, why did I think you actually owned a gym?  Also, what's your Masters in?

Recently it has mostly been CrossFit gyms and one kids' Gymnastics place.

Haha. I some similar plans, but never had the stones to pull any of them off.

Or a Bard. I don't know. Which class has the most charisma? (Bards do get all the chicks.)

While I'm just a know-it-all Monk hoping for a WIS check (Which one job did, asking how I would cue a squat, which led to a tangent about ankles, hips, and t-spine. That was easily a successful roll).

Haha. Masters is in Exercise Science. My family thought I owned a facility as well. I think it's because when I started my LLC the Facebook page classified me as a gym, while I don't have a physical location. I just figured out how to change it.
