I had dinner out so I'm not sure how much calories it was and fitbit thinks I burned 2500kcal and I'm not sure I managed to eat 1500kcal for dinner. Goal 2: Sleep Went to sleep after 3am but slept in a bit today. Goal 3: Learn German No German (even though I should have studied because it wasn't a gym day). But I was busy and didn't have time. I'll try to make it up during the week. This weekend, even though it was social, was exhausting. I feel like I didn't rest enough, I didn't drink enough water, and I didn't eat well (not today either because I was too tired to cook so I've been on a pastry, a cup of coffee, protein bars, and yogurt). At least lifting wasn't affected by that (or, it might but I didn't think so). Anyway, I have food on the slow cooker for the week so the coming week should be fine. I tried to track yesterday's pastry but I'm not sure how accurate it is so I hope it was a bit more. Goal 2: Sleep Went to sleep about 00:30am. Goal 3: Learn German No German As I rambled yesterday, the weekend was draining. After updating my challenge I decided to take a hot shower and go to sleep. Instead the hot shower turned into a hot bath (I finally took advantage of having a bath tub - next time I should bring the laptop and listen to music too) and when I got out a friend had sent me pictures of christmas decorations in Athens so I ended up talking on the phone and making plans for Christmas (so much for complaining I've been exhausted). Well the next paragraph will probably give an explanation (not necessarily a reasonable one as to why I didn't go to sleep immediately.) In the meantime, Anyway, speaking of Christmas, on Saturday morning I went out for my usual coffee (yeah, I had a pastry again too) and walk. During the walk I noticed that one of the Christmas markets that they had been building was open so I walked around. It was very pretty. I'd have taken photographs but it was very crowded (I usually can't tolerate crowded places so that's proof that I really liked the place) and I was holding the coffee. There was lots of food (mostly candy like caramelised apples or fruits dipped in chocolate etc), but also glühwein, wooden toys, products of local producers, christmas ornaments (surprisingly not many for a christmas market) etc. I didn't have any candy (I'm not sure I'd like most of those, although they are nice as a concept) but I did try a local single malt whisky that I liked (then regretted not throwing the rest in my coffee) so I'll definitely go back to get a bottle and try glühwein too. It probably doesn't sound like it from this paragraph but I like Christmas (for the atmosphere and the christmas lights, not just for the food but for that as well ). I lived in Durham for a year but unfortunately never got to visit York. When I went home for Christmas I'd taken 2-3 bottles of mulled wine with me. I think I'll do that this year too. We used to visit quite regularly but it's always such a packed city, especially around christmas. Lovely place though. I got too lazy in the morning to divide my lunch in servings and hadn't prepared any rice so I ate at the canteen (beef gulasch, which seemed fairly lean, with salad and went easy on the potatoes because I got a brownie and a cappuccino on my way out). Goal 2: Sleep Went to sleep around 1am. Goal 3: Learn German No German (I'm behind schedule) I'm about 1kg lighter than last week but I'm sure most of it is water weight so I don't expect to continue to lose at that rate. I only ever went to Durham a few times, even thought it was only 8 minutes on the train. People were just too posh over that way. Goal 3: Learn German No German because of gym night. Not one of the best but also not one of the worst days yesterday. I left work late, reached the gym late and had to skip two circuits because the gym was closing. However, I did wake up to read that squats look stronger and bench is coming on slowly. I don't know why deadlift still resists that much, I'm convinced I'm doing something wrong but I cannot figure out what or how to describe it. Also, I was social again yesterday (kind of). I spent the rest between sets chatting with a friend and I was on the phone making Christmas plans with another one. Yeah, many people would be in danger! We all probably do have that colleague or family member who had it coming. On the other hand, I think I'm just talking to the wrong people some times.
