lol. although that's true, on a related note, I did mention to someone yesterday that women have been having uterus-es (uteri?) since the dawn of woman so I need to just suck it up and workout, and so I did

I was so goshdarn tired why am I like this what is happening is it the weather is it my body is it this time of my life we may never know.

 

I didn't want to go to the gym. But the NF warrior peanut gallery gave me the unspoken side eye. @Grumble and @RedStone I then did the trick where I told myself I had to go to the gym but I could leave after 1 exercise and then I did the whole goshdarn thing. I was at my calories for the day but woke up a 1/2 lb heavier today and I guess I'm just going to ignore that and move on with my life.

 

I've been trying to take daily walks on my lunch break even if it's just for 20 min. It's raining today and then around 1 pm it switches to snow that is supposed to bring a 5" blizzard. But for some reason I really like walking when the weather is shit and cold, so I'll probably do it anyway. I can always just jump between buildings on campus and do stairs and the like.

p.s. unrelated to anything, I've been craving cozy feels lately. like snow and baked bread and homemaker type nonsense. there may be a cooking related challenge in my near future.

Thursday (a.k.a almost Friday)

 

First of all (said in the tone of the first of all memes) there was a ridiculous snow blizzard. BUT it made baking kibbeh for dinner all that much more cozy. I combined recipe 1 and recipe 2 together. Swapped the meat in the dough for potato a la the veg versions of my youth, but included the meat in the filling. Golden raisins for sultanas and slivered almonds for expensive AF pine nuts. The most flavorful and yum dinner I've had in a couple of weeks.

Then I woke up this morning and batteries in the thermostat had died and it was 60 degrees in the house. Not the worst but not the best either. Luckily we had some batteries. Then I got on the scale and the scale batteries had died too. WTF universe!

 

On the plus side there was beautiful snow to admire while I waited for the blood draw station to open this morning for my regularly scheduled blood work.

weelllllll. the one recipe said to put parsley in the filling. I forgot to mix it in, so I tossed it on top the filling and the top "crust" wasn't quittteee thick enough to hide it

I've been ramping up the ARC trainer difficulty over this past week because I realized I'm not in as great cardio shape for hiking as I thought.

 

I must be gaining muscle somewhere because I can finally: 1) do the sorinex leg curls and keep my ass off the ground for more than 2-3 reps at a time 2) actually do a side plan where my hip is more than 1 inch off the ground.
