food so far today: 

 

bagel with cream cheese

vanilla greek yogurt

roasted brussels sprouts

rotini with ground turkey pasta sauce

obscene amount of black coffee

 

Dinner plan is tacos made from leftover crockpot pork, but I'll also probably have a pre-snack because I have an online group meeting for that project management class* that runs into dinner time. cheese and crackers. I need to buy some fruit or carrots or something. 

 

*last day of class is Tuesday. I have two quizzes and a bunch of group work due by then. but then it is FREEDOM and no more excuses for not working out.

dinner yesterday went as planned 

snack of cheese and crackers (bought fancy cheese on honeymoon)

tacos turned into burritos because the husband (!) came home with low carb tortillas instead of little corn tortillas. it was beautiful! made two burritos. I took leftover crockpot pork, cubed it and cooked it with chorizo style seasonings until starting to char. 

ate two lindor chocolates

 

food today so far: 

egg and cheese bagel

greek yogurt

 

planned for later:

brought two little frozen bean burritos (210 cals each)

will get a mini salad from the cafe to go with it

dinner plans: frozen stuffed chicken, rice, and peas

 

Water has been a serious issue of late so I have my water bottle filled next me and I'm ready to rock and roll.

It is 8 degrees F outside this morning.

I ate okay yesterday but it was so salty. Weight was up 0.8# this morning. I need to work on the processed foods thing now that I have more time to cook. I TRIED to buy dried peas yesterday so I could make crockpot pea soup today and the grocery store was SOLD OUT. Apparently everyone had the same bright idea. 

 

Water is starting to happen. I had two 22oz bottles yesterday and some sugar free lemonade. Going for 3 bottles of water today. 

 

Food plan for today: 

Breakfast: bagel & cream cheese, greek yogurt

Snack: avocado

Lunch: peanut butter & jelly sandwich and a random selection from the cafe (soup or salad)

Dinner: had a different dinner* than planned yesterday, so today it will be the stuffed chicken, rice, and roasted zucchini

 

*this was just because I remembered we had some uncooked bratwurst leftover in an open package that needed to be eaten, not because I diverged from the food plan

I'm about 50% committed to this idea, but I think I'm going to try to start working out in the mornings. The main problem being that it's cold AF in the morning and I already have a hard enough time getting out of bed for work as it is. But the thought of going back to the gym during peak evening hours boils my blood and melts my bones, etc. And it gets dark now by 5:00 pm so by late evening hours I'm already committed to being indoors where it is warm and fuzzy. 

 

I'll be prepping clothes before bed tonight and going to bed early. Send me all your best warrior wake-up vibes tomorrow morning.

I'm with you on hating rush hour gymming. You can totally do the morning workout, just break out the caffeine and get goin', lol.

Once I'm out of bed and getting dressed I actually don't need caffeine right away. I don't make my coffee until I get to work. 

 

I'll have to program the thermostat to crank the heat up right before my alarm goes off so I have no excuse. The sheer sweat volume alone should wake me.

Sooooo I tried that basically for a few months and just last week gave up on it. I did really love having my workouts done first thing in the morning though! Made the rest of the day so much easier!  I'm just having trouble now with peaking I'm not as strong in the morning (fueled) so evening is working better for me. I'll probably go back to mornings in February.

I do volume work in the morning on weekdays and intensity/PR attempts are on weekend afternoons only, I'm with you on not being my strongest before sunrise, lol.

 

Edit: also, that comp prep thing....all bets are off, given I've never done it before.

Captain's Log, Stardate 94558.36*

 

"Feels like 1 degree F"

 

Even more bloated today than yesterday, gained over a pound overnight. Need more water. 

 

Morning gym did NOT happen. Got home from shopping for stuff I need to host Christmas, after I normally go to bed. Was 15 min late to work even with not working out. Today is another day though. Yesterday's food went as planned except I ate one lindor chocolate ball. Drank the 3 bottles of water as proposed. 

 

Today's plan: 

bagel with egg white, feta, and spinach

greek yogurt

leftover rice and zucchini

stuffed pork chop I pulled out of the freezer, it looks freezer burnt but whatevs 

dinner: pea soup with ham and veggies (except I couldn't locate a store not sold out of peas so I bought one of those 16 bean blends)

4 bottles of water

 

*I used 3 different stardate calculators and they each gave me a different number. What is up with that?

Today I'm employing the tried and true method of keeping an electric kettle of hot water full. I forgot I like plain hot water in the office. Keeps me warm and hydrated! Even if people give me the side eye.

Drank plenty of water yesterday. BUT we found out a dear friend passed away. :( So instead of the crockpot soup (which wasn't done in time) we ordered a pizza and ate our feelings. I feel sad and then also like a bloated whale today.

 

Also, friends are gathering tonight to share memories. I was going to bring the crockpot of said soup....

The weather report this morning was 0.7°F. Why so specific??? I'll be glad when it warms up tomorrow. A 28°F heat wave!

 

Back to the food logging. I'm still struggling with water, just not feeling thirsty. I might start bringing the sugar free lemonade flavoring to work with me. 

 

Food today: 

breakfast: peanut butter sandwich and vanilla greek yogurt

lunch: pasta with tofu, vegetables, and a spicy peanut sauce (broccoli, carrot, onion)

dinner: probably going to make breakfast food for dinner because I need groceries. I think I'm going to make a warrior breakfast casserole!
