Short update from my phone:

 

Thursday, 2070 cals, had one serving of pretzels at work

 

Friday, 2132

 

going to workout tomorrow morning and if my day goes well go for a walk in the afternoon. Sunday will be mowing the lawn and yard work day. 

 

also, bloated and heavy, I think it's pre-sharks

Saturday was good. Around 1900 calories. I lifted and went for a 3 mile hike in the morning. I'm in a wedding in the fall so we had a bridal party outing in the afternoon.

 

Sunday was a shit show. My best guess is 2684 calories. But I did do at least 2 hours of yard work. But then we had pizza and I'm mega bloated this morning from a salty weekend. Plan is for copious amounts of water this week. I put on 5# in the last week which is a combo of pre-sharks and salty restaurant foods. I feel gross.

 

I've been getting the garden going and started using my garden journal again. I did find what notes I did get done last year (like only through June) to be helpful. Especially how long it took stuff to germinate last time and when I planted it, etc.

 

Weekly Plan:

Keep tracking food. Post calories and work snacks here.


Monday: lifting & groceries

Tuesday: cooking, water garden & seeds

Wednesday: lifting & prep beef stew for Thursday crockpot meal

Thursday: land navigation class

Friday: date night

Saturday & Sunday: land nav practical out in the woods

It is so that I can wander in the woods with a compass and a topographic map. It's a lot of fun and I like the people in the class! I am hoping Mr T and I can do a trip with them sometime in the next year. The class is 3 classroom sessions. This week is the last classroom session and then this weekend we spend two days wandering in the woods practicing our skills. You can stay overnight in the cabin but I have an event I'm going to Saturday evening so I'm not staying the night, unfortunately!

that is so awesome! i learned these skills in school as a geology major but would totally love a refresher. have fun!

Monday: 2093 cals

Work snacks: 6 pretzel nuggets

 

Went to farfit for barbell club. We discussed again if I want to do a meet this year. I just don't know how my back will behave. But coach was all like well you could just do a baby weight DL to get a score. It's an expensive event to do just to phone in a whole lift, in my opinion. I'm considering it. There is a rookie meet in September, but then there is a full meet in October and if I do the one in October its more likely that other people will do it with me.

 

Then I got groceries and the cashier said, in regards to a case of soda, "oh you can just flip that over so I can scan it without you picking it up" me: proceeds to do several bicep curls with the case of soda "I don't mind picking it up." Sorry not sorry.

 

Me talking to myself, you can ignore:

 

I forgot I have a medical procedure Wed morning so I don't think I can lift that night. Not sure how to tackle this dilemma. I literally have no days for working out. I could get up early tomorrow (Wed) and work out at my local gym? But then I have the procedure after and ya'll I don't want to be sweaty when they are looking at my lady parts. Maybe Thursday AM lifting instead then? Except for cardio I can actually do my Day 2 workout all at home.


Then I have late night events Friday night and Saturday night and the land nav class starts at 9 am on the weekend. I think Friday's thing which is a comedy show is less likely to go super late so best plan is Saturday AM early lifting. Saturday night is more likely to go to 1 am or more.

busy busy!! if you reallllly wanted to get something heavy in but didn't have the time you could walways put a brick or two in a backpack for the land nav practicals :o

skipped right past spring straight to summer

 

Tuesday calories: 2008

Work snacks: last of the pretzel nuggets, roughly 8

 

Even though I was within cals I went to bed feeling way too full, need to be more mindful of how I'm feeling while I"m eating and not stuff my face. Weight is still very up. Holding out hope that this is just one of those period cycles where I gained more than usual.

 

Survived my appt this morning. I forgot to ask how long till hard exercise but the internet says at least a day so I'll just go with that.

Wednesday: 2169 cals

Work snacks: potato chips 1.5 serving. I forgot for a couple hours there that I was supposed to be avoiding unhealthy work snacks. :ambivalence:

 

Also, I'm super mega bloated, gained an additional 3# in 2 days. So I'm going on a low sodium kick to help bring that down. So in addition to reporting calories and work snacks I'm also going to report which high salty foods I ate. Which is bad timing because we are going out Fri and Sat, but I'll do what I can.

 

And I got blood work done, I'm very anemic. Which explains a lot of fatigue and lack of general interest in extra activity. Silly bodies.

 

Did not work this morning, I had a lot of cramping last night so I didn't even try to set my alarm early. I feel mostly better this morning.

I already failed and ate the potato chips in a boxed lunch, wasn't thinking. It's a learning process? I'll counter balance with extra fluids today.

Thursday: 2273 cals, this is a little high, but with what I've been weighing is still less than what should cause more weight gain

Work snacks: none!

Salty foods: bag of potato chips in a boxed lunch

 

Today is going to be hard in terms of nutrition because we are going out after work to the comedy show. But I'm going to pitch that we eat leftovers for dinner so we have more money for booze, that at least avoids me salt. So that if food is not on point at least it is not high cals AND salty.

 

I've also accepted that I'm just not going to get much lifting in this week. I'll try to do some at home tomorrow morning, but I also have navigation homework I have to finish before 9 am tomorrow. Which is important so I'm not the only chucklehead completely lost on Saturday.

I survived! Almost too tired to give an update. I did trip on a downed tree by not picking my foot up high enough. One of the dangers of nerve damage in my feet! But other than a massively bruised shin, I survived and had a blast. The final event was basically an orienteering event where we were broken into 4 teams and given a topographic map with flags marked on it (but no trails marked) and sent out with 1 instructor per group to find the flags. I'm hoping they decide to offer advanced navigation this fall which involves night time navigation!

Weekend food is weekend food...


Friday: ate normally, ate dinner before the comedy show

Saturday: didn't pack enough food for the day, but then we went out for mexican and I feel so fluffy

Sunday: ate fine at day 2 of the practical we went out for late lunch after, which was enough calories for two meals, and then I came home and conveniently fell asleep at 4 pm and didn't get up till this morning barring when Mr T came home in the late evening.

 

Weight is up from salty tacos and Sunday BBQ meal, but I'm okay with it for now. And my left shin is swole up.

 

I'm shifting my exercise schedule this week to give my body a day to recover:

Monday: groceries & gardening

Tuesday: lifting

Wednesday: cooking

Thursday: lifting

Friday: lifting

Monday:  2504 calories

Work snack & salty snack: 1 serving potato chips

 

I think it's time to set a calorie goal. I'm tracking foods but not always until after I've eaten the fuds. So goal time will require me to track as I go. The goal for this week will be 2100 to start moderate and evaluate every Sunday whether or not to lower the goal.

 

Did the grocery shopping and gardening last night. I still need to throw my pumpkin seedlings in the ground, but it gets dark so late now I should have time to do that after my workout today. I didn't feel this morning like wanting to go to the gym tonight, but the habit needs to be reestablished so I packed my bag and tossed into the car. It's just been a while since I've been "on program" since I had that three week long cold/sinus/lung infection.

there are a few on my FB :) I forgot to take any on Sunday though, which was the main gig. :(

Wednesday: cooking & cleaning (desperately need to clean house!)

Thursday: lifting & maybe mini hike

Friday: lifting

Saturday: first aid class and then BBQ in the PM

Sunday: first aid class day 2

 

Trying to figure out time to go do a short hike to practice stuff from the nav class while it is fresh, but it's supposed to rain a lot and I'm busy. And also because i'm backpacking the weekend after that so need to keep up the cardio. Thursday after lifting is looking like it will be the best day.

Tuesday snacks:
1 serving potato chips, 1 serving of ice cream with 6 oreo thins. *sigh* will ignore all snacks today. i.e. not eat any

 

I also didn't workout yesterday, I went home and played in the yard. But now my schedule coincides with the weather to hike tomorrow. and my shin finally feels better.

 

Monday: groceries & gardening  

Tuesday: cooking & yard work  planted my pumpkin seedlings and set up my backpacking tent trial run

Wednesday: lifting & cleaning

Thursday: hike, buy tomato plants, cook dinner

Friday: lifting

Saturday: first aid class and then BBQ in the PM

Sunday: first aid class day 2
