Yasha92
Hello my friends! The Plan: Leading up to the silly season I will make an effort to continue on with the positive changes I have made so far and not slide back- there will be situations where it will be tricky (compulsory work Christmas parties, Friend’s Christmas Eve, potentially Family Christmas also…) particularly in terms of food, but instead of just chalking the whole month off into the ‘too hard basket’ I will do the best I can around those commitments, and try not to go too wild on those days particularly in terms of my kryptonite: fizzy beverages. I will aim to take TWO glasses only and otherwise drink water, juice, or tea. The final week is a concessional week at work as the university is closed, so I will make an effort to keep up the good work without the structure of actual work. The way that I aim to achieve this is such~ The List (aka adulting): I am going to trial having a checklist to mark off of an evening to try and encourage a few daily habits I want to incorporate by end of the year ready for a nice fresh 2017. Similar I guess to a bullet journal/ checklist I’ll write it with a whiteboard marker on my bedroom mirror to check off of an evening before bed: water plants, water self, 15min hot-spot clean (with photo!), take vitamins, brush teeth, sleep (go to bed by 10pm on non-game nights), daily affirmation (I will think on this and write a statement/battle cry/ self-care statement to read each morning). It seems like a lot, but none of these things will take very long to complete. I will take a photo each evening of the list with ticks rather than writing it out again every day. The Exercise: I will continue with 4 gym sessions/week (ROAR on Mon/Wed/Fri plus boxing on Thurs) and add one ‘bonus activity’ (eg swimming, bike ride, walk, ZRC25K, back strength program ) of a weekend/Tuesday. Being active is really helping my mood to not be too awful and I’d like to continue that, I’ve also been reminded of just how much I really like boxing. Unsure if the Monday ROAR on Boxing Day will be running or not, if not I will sub in another bonus activity. In zero week I will find out whether my gym membership will allow me to visit the sister gym in my parent’s home town just in case I end up travelling back to go to any Christmas shindigs (unplanned at this stage, aren’t we organised!). The Food: Mr and I will be trying out some new recipes in an attempt to stick to our calorie goals (roughly 1500 for me and 1800 for Mr). We have signed up for a meal plan from our gym and already day one meal one and packing for meal two Mr has things he won’t eat (bananas, any fish but sushi, eggs unless an omelette) so he is looking to find some recipes to use instead of ones with those ingredients. For now I’ll eat on without him and hoping to develop one we can both follow together by end of zero week. In terms of the great giftmas celebrations I will first have a plate of meat and veg/ devilled eggs, wait a polite amount of time and then decide if I’m eating anything else on offer once I’ve already got food in my belly. I’m planning to take a box of cherries to any ‘bring a plate’ type deals so there will definitely be some fruit. Sub goal - I will weigh and measure waist at the beginning of each week so that I have an idea of how I'm tracking rather than finding out at the end of the challenge whether it was working. (Not my tree, but suited the nerdy Christmas theme) 10 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment

Yasha92
The list: 4/7, can easily improve on that to be full marks by official start of the challenge. The exercise: rest day, rested. Had an odd muscle twitch in my back ribs this afternoon, will need to book in with the chiropractor to get back to regular appointments. The food: had been doing really well today, then I ate a whole pack of rice chips while watching Gilmore girls. 5 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment

Yasha92
Good job cleaning, I love the integrated drying shelf on your sink. Thanks it never takes as long as I think it will (I timed it once and the dishwasher flip takes 7mins, no excuses!) the drying section is pretty standard here, some sinks have one on either side (our old house did and it took me months to figure out if I moved the drying rack to the other side I'd have an additional 15inches of 'bench'- albeit rippled bench). Feeling pretty filth this morning, woke up with a bit of a sore throat, but my nose will just not stop running. Did both PT session (at 5.30am, groan) and boxing (double punched the second half since Mr hurt his wrist a week or two ago and the pain was travelling up his arm- will try to get him to go to the Dr to get it checked out) this morning and feeling pretty drained, though I did well in both. I've taken a bunch of vitamins and had an enemy drink all before 9am, aiming to get through the interviews for some new casuals then head on home to initiate plague protocols. 4 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment

Yasha92
The list: 6.?/7, bed was the only non-full-marks as we got home from the game a little before midnight... I'm pretty sure I was giving a pass for game nights but can't be arsed going back to check at the moment... heavy on the vitamins today, and I've taken a cold and flu tablet to hopefully kick this sick right out. In bed writing this by midnight, not going to try for the 6am gym tomorrow. The exercise: the PT picked Mr and me up and drove us to the gym for our 5.30am PT session - (we only did 2 sets seeing as we were rolling straight onto boxing, usually it will be three) Back extensions 2x10 Close grip lat pulldowns 2x10 Wide grip seated row 2x10 Face pulls 1x15 Bridges 2x30 seconds Then on to boxing - I double boxed in the second half since Mr hurt his wrist a while back and all the punching was aggregating it. The food: I utilised both an enemy drink and an enemified mt dew to get through the interviews and deciding (I felt so grotty when people went to shake my hand and I said 'I won't touch you I'm sick', ugh less than lovely feeling) then in the evening I had a handful of crisps and a handful of peanuts as I'd had around 4L water (which seems to be immediately converting to the nose-tap) and was starting to feel too diluted. I did not have the offered cake, I instead had some lovely grapes. So Mr has told me I'm not going to the gym or work tomorrow if I look anything like how I am today. Seeing as I came home early and have blown most of the skin from my nostrils I tend to agree, I'm counting today's double class to strike off tomorrow's as a rest day, will still aim for a weekend swim if the weather is nice and plague protocols allow for it. 4 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment

Yasha92
Plague protocols well underway. Mr dragged the mattress into the living room in front of the TV for me and I spent the whole day horizontal except for a tiny walk down to get a frozen icy drink to help with my mouth itching like crazy. I had to stop three times to rest on a walk that usually takes me three minutes. The hankies I bought on a whim some weeks ago are coming in very handy and I'm eating like an absolute turd or not at all. Writing this early Saturday morning and I expect the same to continue today, though I will attempt to include a banana... Yasha92
She liiiiiiiives! Thank goodness today I actually felt like a person again after three days in bed in plague protocols, eating grossly and drinking plenty of fizzy awful, I also skipped two gym sessions, but considering I broke a sweat and had to stop to rest walking down to get a frozen drink and spent the rest of the time sleeping/dozing I'm giving myself a pass, this was not laziness but true illness, I don't think I've been that sick in a long time. Good news is that I feel much better and tomorrow is a scheduled rest day so I will spend my energy on work and then on Wednesday take back up at the gym. The food: made a tiny foray back into healthy options and more importantly bought some groceries so I can get back to real real food from tomorrow. Giving myself a pass on the dregs of illness. The list: 6/7 a generally good effort. We moved the game to a friend's since our place is a massive mess and I fear the germs that might still be kicking around. The exercise: took a pass rest day to recover some drained HP, will get back to it properly on Wednesday with potential for a bonus tomorrow -if- I feel well enough (I'm thinking a little swim if it's as hot as today was) 5 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment

Yasha92
Still recovering today, but much improved- as I was telling people today 'I'm better than I was but still not exactly well'. Had a gentle day at work and after it finished my manager dropped me home because it was raining and I looked so pale. Played some phone-based charades with Mr and ate then into bed nice and early, planning for the gym tomorrow (I'll be gentle) so rest is important. The food: tracked and came in under the total but not confident I tracked properly, about a 50/50 split for good foods and bad, pancakes and a carrot for breakfast, tuna and rice for lunch, chicken wings for dinner... thinking I'll reintroduce the freggie goal as it was 'have more x' rather than 'have less y'. The list: 7/7, even though I reeeeeally didn't want to clean, I flipped the dishwasher and cleared all the rubbish from the bench (also flipped the laundry but won't be folding it any time soon). Get 'er done. The exercise: scheduled rest day and I still really needed it, no bonus exercises, but a bonus point for listening to my body 4 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment

Yasha92
It's taking a long time to shake this funk, plus low immune system = cold sore so I feel double nasty, at least I'm squirrelled away doing projects this week instead of being front facing... was able to function pretty well today but did have an enemy drink (spread out over the first half of the day) to get/keep me going. The food: decided to bring back the freggie goal- 2 bananas, apricot, nectarine. Under MFP tracking even with the enemy drink and the left over chicken wings. Coworker laughed at my mismatched 'breakfast'... The list: 8/8 (what Yasha? I thought you only had 7?!) I've added 15mins of Chinese practice to the list as I am thinking of taking up my offer for a Diploma of Languages in the new year and would like to dabble a bit/get a head start if I do decide to go ahead with it (waiting on the outcome of a job application which will shape whether I go for it or not). Almost forgot my affirmation and did it in the evening instead of the morning. Otherwise pretty good- flipped another dishwasher and another laundry (still no folding). The exercise: yep and boy was I feeling weak and pathetic, I was averaging a round and a half behind everyone else, still I went and I got my sweat on and that's what counts (plus I was doing 'real' burpees today instead of modified, which is a big win for me). 5 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment
Yasha92
Bleeeergh, I'm ready to be better now, kaythxbai? Skipped boxing this morning with the intention to save my energy for work, got up and ready and was halfway through making my smoothie when I suddenly had to puke so I ended up not going to work either. I'm pretty well over all the missed things and would like to be well again. Food: hit the freggies- 2bananas, spinach, a carrot, a handful of berries. Calories unknown but I suspect ok, I did have some cake but it was way too sweet for me so I only had a tiny piece, did also have half an enemy drink. The list: 7/8, didn't do any tidying, in bed super late but it's a game night so it's allowable. The exercise: another rest day. Debating whether or not to even try to gym tomorrow... Mr is not allowing me to go to the work giftmas party tomorrow (partly to keep me from trying to make a costume today I suspect) which will take up most of the day, so likely won't be at work tomorrow either. 2 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 || Halfway thru 2020 || Yasha High-5s herself || Jan 2023 || Current Challenge: Yasha holds steady (Feb-Mar 2023) Link to comment
