Myrik Returns to the Ruins

Myrik returned to the ruins to test the “gift” from Tevok.  Upon entering the room he was attacking in before the presence was nowhere to be seen.  Have the free time to scout around Myrik discovered 3 paths to take from the alter room.  Each path was marked with a different rune.  Myrik recognized all 3 for the runes from the Codex. The runes represented different beast and in that instance Myrik knew which path would lead him to his goal.  Myrik decided before venturing down the tunnel he should prepare a little more and reach out to his mage friends for more information on the Scale and the ring now branded to his hand.

 

Goal I Be Creative

I want to be more creative whether it is reading, writing, drawing, or anything that gets my mind going besides gaming. My goal is 30 minutes a day of any combination of creativity.  10 points a day this is completed (270 points)

 

Goal II Conditioning

I need to improve my endurance so once a week I will work on some sort of endurance training.  Zombies! Run, HIIT training, Jumping rope etc.

20 points a week (80 points)

 

Goal III Inversion

Continue working on my handstands would like to get to 20 second free handstand by the new year.  Practice daily for at least 5 minutes.

5 Points a day this is competed (135 Points)

 

 

Bonus objectives: 20 points per completion

1) Finally build my Jump box

2) Draw a mock up of the tattoo I will probably never get.

3) Finish The Father You've Always Wanted (only 5 points)

4) Clean and organize my garage

5) Design swing set for kids

6) Design back deck and submit to HOA. 

 

Not including Bonus points the maximum points I can earn this challenge is 485 points.  To allow my self some room for error in the I will use the same scoring scale as last challenge.

 

300 points earns one nerdy reward

400 points earns one nerdy reward plus one fitness reward

500 points earns two nerdy rewards plus one fitness reward

600 points earns two nerdy rewards  plus two fitness rewards

650 points Special reward of my choice.

So here is my workout from yesterday.  Was very careful about form with my squats due to my ankle.

 

Chin up 5/5/5

Rope pull down 10@75#/10@75#/10@75#

Plyo pushup 10

Lateral squats 5

Pull up 3/3/3

Dumbbell press 10@20#

Hammer curl 10@20#

push up to dumbbell row 10@20#

Shoulder shrugs 15@20#

Dumbbell wrist curl 10@15#

Dumbbell reverse wrist curl 5@15#

Last night i did 40 minutes of rowing along side the Zombies Run app.  Oh my god I forgot how hard rowing can be.  Today i built my kids Christmas gift from their Grandparents,  A 12' Trampoline.  Im going to count the 2 hours it took to build it as my creativity for the day.

Went back to basics for today's workout.

 

Squats - 10/10/10

Pushups - 5/5/5

Plank(seconds) - 40/40/40

Chinups - 5/5/5

5 minutes of handstand practice

 

30 minutes of creativity was from finishing the final touches on my front yard for Christmas.

How many seconds can you hold right now on your free standing handstand? 20 seconds is quite the accomplishment if you're able to make it! I'm shooting for a good 15 second hold by the end of this year myself :)

I'm currently at 5 seconds consistently with a PR of 10 seconds.

Finally broke out my Christmas Present from last year.  A Star wars themed Adult coloring book.  Spent 45ish minutes coloring a Darth Maul.  It felt great.  All while listening to Afrojack -Braver.

Nice. I color while "watching" tv show(s), so I can get the stories and feel somewhat productive at the same time (I hate just sitting and doing nothing). It's gotten me through 3 seasons of Supernatural so far, at varying rates of productivity.  I'm also pretty convinced it's the only thing keeping my writing skills from going completely out the window in this age of computers. :P

Chinup - 5/5 

Pullup - 2/2

Handstand practice (minutes) -  2.5/2.5

 

Couldn't push through for a third set due to horrible heartburn.  Will make up for it tomorrow with a little extra handstand practice.

Mine is "going" to be a mural of sorts with everything that makes me well me.  Some Final Fantasy references, Zelda, Coast Guard, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.

Today i focused on setting AMRAP/AMSAP for the Mini.  My body feels good and tired, might be a little sore tomorrow but that's okay.

 

Plyo Push up (AMRAP = 10) 10/10

Bulgarian split squat (AMRAP = 15) 15/15

Chin up (AMRAP = 5) 5/5

Side Plank (AMSAP = 30 each side) 30/30

Ring Row (AMRAP = 10) 10/10

Hanging knee raises (AMRAP = 13) 13/13

1 leg assisted ring dips (AMRAP = 5) 5/5

 

Still need to get some Handstand practice in.  Might modify my goal for handstands to a set amount of time a week vs everyday.  My shoulders are super tired and need some down time to recup.

I'd love to see a picture if you end up sketching something out for the tattoo! My GF and I are currently obsessed with Ink Master and we are plowing through all of the seasons on Hulu >_<

So the last few days have been a bust.  Havent really had the energy or desire to do much but veg out and play video games.  Sleep has been so screwed because Little Bunny has been sick, Ear Infection -> Diaper area yeast infection -> stomach bug with bad diarrhea -> UTI.  I did knock out my workout Monday but didn't get any handstand or creativity done Monday or Tuesday.  Should make up for the Creativity today at work when I can color for at least 1 hour or more.   I tried to get a workout in before work but couldn't muster much energy to do it, think I have been under eating. So I am going to eat as much as my body tells me it needs and try to knock out the other 2 sets tonight.

 

Chin up 5/5

Plyo push up 10/10

Bulgarian split squat 5 (couldn't muster much power in my legs for these)

Squats 15 (these where hard today)

 

 

Will update again tonight.

Wow that stinks, I hope the little one gets better soon! And good work getting at least a little of your workout done, remember even if you can only take one step forward you're still progressing more that those who are standing still :)

Thanks guys.  This is why you all rock.  I beat myself up when I miss goals, my wife says im to hard on myself.  You guys just proved it.

 

She is doing much better already just 1 day on the new antibiotics and she is doing much better.

Glad to hear your daughter is on the mend!

 

Have you been following the NF handstand program or have you just reached this level or awesome on your own (10 sec free handstand!!)?  I have a handstand goal in my current challenge (daily practice which runs about 5 minutes) using NF handstands course.  If your aren't doing the NF program, what does your practice look like?

I started with the NF beginner handstand and progressed from there.   I think the 10 second handstand was a fluke to be honest because I am having a hard time getting to 7+ right now.

That's how I am right now. Increasing that solid hold time is HARD and its weird how much things like shoulder rotation, protraction/retraction and core, and wrist strength play into it once you start upping your time.

So working out after I got home last night didn't happen.  Got home changed out of my uniform ate a snack and jumped on WoW for all of 30 minutes before starting to fall to sleep at my Keyboard, so I was in bed before midnight, which is uncommon for me when I work the afternoon swing shift 1330 to 2130.  And I slept for 12 hours my wife woke me up at 1230 for work.  I figured I would have slept till 10 at the latest and been able to knockout some mini challenge stuff this morning before work.  Oh well there is always tonight.
