Grayspeed's December Challenge

So, I was originally going to do a Star Wars theme this month because Rogue One is coming out. But I've also been replaying Assassin's Creed 2 this past week and AC just seems more "fitnessy" and relates to my goals a bit more.

Also, this is the Assassins Guild.

 

My goals right now are to grind away at NF Rings, get more sleep (I've let my sleep pattern get really messed up lately), and increase the amount of cardio I get.

Quest 1: Agility

Agility and speed are essential skills for any assassin. You can't wipe out De' Pazzi if you can't catch them. 

Increase agility and speed by performing three HIIT focussed cardio sessions per week.

 

 

Quest 2: Climbing Strength

Climbing all over buildings and looking like a badass is what makes Assassins so great. To build up the strength to do this I will need to do a Nerd Fitness Rings workout at least three times per week. 

 

 

Quest 3: Alertness

Having an alert state of mind is vital when you're heading into Templar territory. Especially when you're outnumbered 20 to 1, as Assassins often are.

To achieve Master Assassin-like awareness I will get plenty of rest by being in bed by 10:30, five nights per week.

May as well get started. Did a jump rope workout for my HIIT today, I've definitely lost some cardio capabilities but my timing and muscular endurance felt better than before - which made me not feel too bad.

 

Week 0 - Wednesday.

Rings Workouts: 1/3

HIIT Sessions: 1/3

Bed by 10:30: 0/5  - Which means I have to do this every night this week to avoid failure..

I'd be lying if I said I was only here for the assassining. :)  The videogame violence & CGI blood just calls to me. Lol

Pretty good. The sleep goal will probably be the hardest as I have a tendency to get absorbed in whatever I'm doing and forget about the clock. Week 0 was a pretty nice tester week because I didn't have anything going on, but with festivities coming up I'll have a lot more "other stuff" to do that will make questing harder.

Christmas week may be a struggle - so much family.

 

Week 1 - Monday

Found out today that work is sending me off to another site tomorrow to cover staff shortages and help out. The longer commute and hours they want me for will mean I either have to get up super early to get to the gym(not gonna happen, let's be honest) or go late at night (and fail the bedtime goal) if I want to avoid before/after work crowds. I'm thinking I'll just do a HIIT workout at home just so I've done something for the challenge. It's a shame that there isn't anywhere at home I can hang my rings..

I get paid extra for mileage though :encouragement:

I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. AC has great cinematic potential if done right.

Bed by 10:30: 4/5. Pre-counting as it's only 8:45 and I'm already exhausted.

I hope so! A lot of film adaptions of games aren't the best, so I agree - cautiously optimistic sounds like the best way to think for now. :):P
