Trying to find what works, but stumbling over what doesn't, kinda sucks. But, I have to keep trying until I can find my groove. Also, even though I am not looking forward to winter (eventually, maybe, someday) showing up, I am always excited to watch Channing Tatum perform as Elsa. :love_heart:

My challenge this round will be fairly simple and easy to track. Still thinking of a good bujo layout to track this, but I'm leaning towards simplifying that as well to a "monthly" spread with little check boxes for each item. *ponders*

Exercise (per week)

1 Yoga

1 Alternate Exercise

3 PT

5 Walks

Food (per day)

1 Fruit/Veggie

6 glasses of water

Channing Tatum is fantastic as Elsa!

A great simplified layout would be great for your goals. :)

Simplified layout, ho!

(The poor 'e' hanging all by himself.....)

Plan is that tonight will be yoga for the challenge. Tomorrow morning will be my first spin class with sis to be followed later in the day with birthday shenanigans in her honor (and apartment).

Yesterday and today were travel days for my daughter's last dance competition as a high schooler. We brought the baby since it's frowned upon to leave babies pn their lonesome, but it's OK because he's great at traveling. My exercise the past couple days included carrying of the almost 19lb baby, holding the squirmy and wobbly baby while he tried to stand, or while he was on a lap, holding him during feeding times without a good chair or pillows... And lots of walking.

So, also lots of various full body exercising going on. My sides are sore... :P

Thanks!

They didn't place for their variety performance (they dressed up like stormtroopers), but they got 4th for their pom routine! This is the first time they've placed in the past 7 years, so daughter was super excited about it since it's her last one. ^_^

To finish up week 0 (not that I'm really counting anything), I made it to spin class. Wow. I managed to pedal through the whole thing, but stayed on my butt for the majority of it, though I did adjust the tension along with the rest of the class. When I tried to do the standing cycles, my knee was all jelly feeling, so I figured it would be better to strengthen the muscles around it first before adding more complexity. After class I was shaky (because of riding a bike for an hour... and also possibly because I didn't eat beforehand which was probably dumb, though I did drink a lot). @tourennatrix took me to a different room afterwards where she proceeded to show me how to foam roll my legs. That kind of sucked. And what was unexpected, though should have been obvious in retrospect, was how sore my triceps were after class. The trip down the stairs after class was slow going, again, not because my knees were sore, but because they were wobbly. Stupid knees.

Overall, I think it was a good exercise (after the first 5 minutes and my knees got used to the movement). Will try again. :D

After I got home, I ate food (because by then I was starving), finished up my yoga routine from Friday night (it was interrupted halfway through by baby Friday night), ate a little bit more, did some finance stuff, and then finally got in the shower. Later, I spent a few baby-free hours hanging out with my sis and her friends for her birthday party and ate lots of snacks and had lots of fun. It was a pretty good day. ^_^

Today, for day 1 of the challenge, I'm planning on doing some more yoga, might get in my PT, and I'm gonna start with some holiday decorating! Yay!! :D

LOL I think everyone's knees get wobbly after spin class, at least the first time! Don't be too harsh on them. :)

Nice yoga streak!

Hmm. Today is...Wednesday. Good. Because I thought it was maybe Tuesday and I was all... uggggghhhhh.

Didn't get to yoga last night because Christmas Tree Time!

So, that made a 4-day streak. :D Hoping to get back to it today, but the past few nights have been super rough getting baby to sleep (he sleeps the soundest sleep until I get him in his crib and then he's *pop!* wide awake.....) so I'm struggling today with either a regular lack 'o sleep headache, or possibly a migraine. Trying to stay hydrated and keep to gentle movements for now and I'll see how I'm feeling later today to see if I can handle any yoga moving. The thing that most sucks about the headache is that baby has been sleeping for over an hour and I soooo could have used this time to get in some good exercise. Stupid head. :P

I feel like I've been failing at updates, though in reality, it's only been 3 days. >.>

Week 1 Summary:

Yoga: 5/1

Alternative Exercise: 1/1

PT: 0/3

Walk: 0/5

Fruit/veggies: 5/7

Water: 32/42

Not horrible. Though I'm wondering if, for future challenges, I need to pick something super easy to do all the time so that I can just not do it. I'm looking at you "walk". >.> Though, to be fair to myself, my exercise room kind of becomes the Christmas "staging area" this time of the year with all of the wrapping paper and other paraphenalia, so getting in there to do anything is a bit of a chore. I am proud that I managed to get in there and have enough room to do yoga, so that's a thing - yay!

Went to spin class again on Saturday with @tourennatrix. My butt was a lot more unhappy with the bike seat during class - especially the last 10 minutes - but hasn't bothered me as much afterwards as last week's. My legs (and knees) also seemed more ok with class than last week's. I took it "easy" during class and remained seated the entire time though I still adjusted tension as appropriate, in part because I didn't want to stress my knees out, and in part because of my first cold of the season. Breathing while biking was fun. >.>

As odd as it sounds, the timing of my cold was pretty good because if I needed antibiotics for it, I just got some for a bout of mastitis I'm now recovering from, so yay for various bodily infections and general all-purpose antibiotics! In addition to this crap, it's also shark week, so hello bloating and general malaise feeling (but thankfully no cramps this go 'round!).

Not fitness related stuff, but stuff that's making me all ugh.

Spoiler

In addition to everything else, my husband's job is in flux so hello various forms of anxiety. He may have to move to California which means financial anxiety, separation anxiety, packing anxiety... If he does, he will move first and I'll stay here until daughter graduates, then the rest of us will join him if it turns out he'll be staying there longer term (that's the other thing we don't know yet - how long he'll have to stay there... 6mo? a year? longer? ugh. He's looking at other potential jobs that may not require a move, so really, I'm just trying to accept and not worry about info he gets, ask intelligent questions about what's expected, and then not worry until we have answers.

And while he's doing that stuff, he's also hardcore doing cleaning through the house and garage and getting stuff ready for dump trips (all of those "i'll fix it up someday" items), or burning in out pit for all of the rotted scrap wood. It'll help if we do end up having to all move, but also means bebe and I get to spend all the time together. Ah well. He's definitely doing things that would be more difficult for me to do, and I know he would rather spend time playing with bebe (especially if he does have to move and won't be able to see him...), but it's stuff that needs done. Ugh.

Anxiety - I don't need your bullshit at Christmas time. :P

I should be getting over all of that crap in the next day or so, here's to moving forward!

aw crap, uncertainty at the holidays is the worst. because we want the holidays to be so perfect! and that means CERTAINTY and DETERMINED TRADITION!

I'm right there with you girl, even though we are feeling pretty ok about my husbands job situation (as in he doesn't have one right now) it's still sneaking in around the edges and making me feel worried about stuff I can't control. deep breaths, more corpse poses, and require a significant increase in hugs from husband. that helps a lot.

I understand that you're a bit stressed about the living situation, but isn't a potential move also kinda exciting? :)

If you'd asked last year, or even last month, I'd be all "yes!!" But within the past two weeks, we have been having the "serious talk" (as opposed to the "wouldn't it be nice if... talk") about a move overseas* that we're planning to take place in a couple years or so. A move to California now would likely/could potentially disrupt those plans because we definitely can't afford a move now while also saving for a move later.

*Ireland.... I want to live in you....

Mostly, my "tradition" is to just have a good month. Lots of Christmas music, much happies, and so many gift giving and. of course, cramming 10 people into our tiny-ass living room full of a huge tree and baby stuff. (We literally do not have room for all the people to have a place to sit, but it makes it super cozy, so that's fun, right? :P)

So many corpse poses. And child poses. And hugs.
