They go to hell in two days anyway Goals will remain the same: CrossFit and Nutrition. In addition to that I'll add a third, looser goal called “Start the World”. I' ve recently finished reading “The Way of Men” by J. Donovan. Donovan is an author whose books I refused to read because of ideology incompatibilities. You know, the whole white supremacy, anti-feminism thing made me a tad uncomfortable. I decided to give it a chance; after all if it turned out to be total crap it would only cost me 6 bucks. I devoured the book(yes, even the rather disgusting bits) in two sittings and to be honest I really enjoyed it. What's more, it made me realize how I've neglected the development of the “tactical virtues”. Just as an example, I've not even once practiced the fire starting and shelter making techniques I learned during No Fear of the Setting Sun, my camping axe(which used to be my grandfather's) still has the crude handle I was going to change a million years ago and remains embarrassingly dull. I' have not lit up the forge in forever... you get the point. So the goal will be oriented towards investing some of my time in training and developing my “primal manly self”. He was worried about pullups and chin ups, which he hadn't done before- I never had a doubt he'd get them no problem: Is a skinny guy but martial arts made him strong enough to move his own body weight. Nutrition: Homemade patties and tomato salad for lunch. dinner was roasted chicken breasts and lettuce/tomato/carrot salad. Gotta start planning ahead for holiday season a.k.a. food orgy season. The last thing my BDD-y brain needs right now is fat gain. Start the World:One of the things I've ever wanted to do is learn how to shoot a gun. Guns are not that common down here. The average citizen has only seen guns from a distance in hands of a police officer. I believe every man should at least have a basic knowledge on how to safely use a firearm, even if he doesn't own one. That's one of the sub-goals for this challenge, learn to shoot or at least start taking practical classes on the subject. Found a shooting range near by and called earlier today. They dictate shooting classes and apparently have rental guns. Rx was 50kg/30kg for DT. I used 40. The time cap was 20min and I finished it in about 15. I finished last, after the dudes Rx-ing the thing. Clara, the super badass german ex-gymnast finished first using the prescribed 30kg for women. Even if she used the same elastic band as me for the pullups, the gal is a total beast! Since we finished 5 minutes earlier than coach expected, he threw in a plank/v-sit tabata. Nutrition: At the moment of writing this, about 8-10 grams of cashews and a banana, which in total make 144cal. Can't wait to get home and go berserk on my lunch. I have not been taking any suplements lately and at first I felt no difference, but after a week or so I started noticing a deficit on my recovery. My usual dealer was out of town but at last I'm meeting him tomorrow. The guy buys at the factory and resells through his facebook page and whatsapp chat, but does not have a mortar and brick store, which of course makes the products much cheaper. Besides he sells the national brand I like the most (he also sells USA made suplements but those are beyond my budget). Start the World: Going to the range later. I 'll keep you updated Notes: forgot to mention. On Tuesday I finally achived Hand Stand Pushups for reps in a WOD! 4 Rounds of (among a bunch of other stuff) 8 reps. I myself still try to get my feet against the wall for a handstand. The heat and humidity were ridiculous and we were almost passing out by the end of the tabata. Nutrition: It feels good to have my handy-dandy protein shakes again. Makes me feel replenished and I could swear my recovery is worst the days I don’ t drink my protein. Someof it is probably placebo effect, but is nice nevertheless. Start the World: Won’t be able to go shooting this week. A friend of mine, who’s been on my “tribe” since we were like 5yo, was going to join the lessons but work has him pinned down at his desk until tomorrow. Thursday and Friday are holiday so the range is closed. Krav Maga will have to wait too: This week they are teaching a Civilian Instructor Course (CIC). I even tried building a hunting trap on my back yard it sounds kinda silly, living in the city and all that, but one does not know when it might come in handy. Started "How To Become A Modern Viking" by Liam Gooding and I'm already at the last chapters. Gooding has not invented any of the elements comprised by his modern viking system(Which he acknowledges at the very beginning of the book ) but figured a way to lay it all out in a way the "average dude" won't run away from. His fitness, diet, and lifestyle advice are solid and the book itself it's just entertaining light reading material. Also, this song + videoclip Veterans all around the world suffer from the indifference of the people they put their lives on the line for. In the case of Argentina,some Malvinas/Falkland's veterans still roam the streets, deprived of their sanities. Other came back as cripples back in the '80, and yet every government has turned their backs on the country's heroes. "This is the land of the free, because of the brave" Although these are American words, they apply to all free countries around the world. I work for a veterans nursing home, and so many of the men I care for had their lives ruined in youth by Vietnam, and were then forgotten about until their old age, if even then. Only because it's a paid job it isn't less of a service for society. I don't get it.
