RES: Multi-phased growth III (or: how am I so late with this thread)

Last challenged started with me starting a new job, having some areas of life running smoothly as far as nutrition and learning to live in this RV...and wondering if I should bother with a challenge...since there were only 3 (now down to 2!) left this year, and they encompass my birthday, thanksgiving, Christmas, etc...I'm just going to take the rest of the year to get everything in place to knock 2017 out of the park! (I work for a minor league baseball team, you can expect more bad puns like this...)

Yep, still planning on doing this!!

Immediate goal is to pay off/down debt...when my wife was 'restructured' this year it was a huge challenge to find the money to move and keep up with the bills, we both have student loans that are affecting our debt/credit ratio that we need to address, I would also like to pay off the vehicles early since having two car payments is a struggle right now. The progress on this is going better than expected...

I've made my other goals more specific as I've noticed some issues

(I)nvigorate - my movement and strength training goal, aiming for 5 days a week (Joined a gym, will be going a minimum of 5 days a week, when I am on break I plan on working on more of a weights, etc, routine...for now I'll work on getting my endurance back...never thought I'd be so glad to see a treadmill! LOL)

(V)ariety - social goal, aiming for getting out and doing something 'fun' once a week (this needs no adjusting...I'm almost overbooked!)

(Y)in and Yang - Work on life balance - get enough sleep, leave work on time (when not required to stay) no bailing on events I say I'm going to (unless financial) (Sleep is still an issue...work tries to throw me out unless it's an event night LOL)

I don't do nutrition goals anymore because honestly, I don't need to...I plan menus and my shopping list for the week and stick to it, with my current cash flow situation I've had no choice...I know how crappy it makes me feel when I cheat and it's not worth it...

I enjoy power walking, kettlebells, and yoga...I don't like stressing over getting a certain number of these in a week so as long as there is something done five days a week I'm okay with that...I'm just trying not to gain right now, I'll work on losing in the future, it's not a focus right now...I'm trying to stay sane

And on to the next Last challenge of 2016!!

These are pretty well-honed challenge goals by now, so I have complete faith in you.

I'll be curious to see how you go with building up your program at the gym. I also kind of hope there are a few ridiculous people at the gym because I kind of collect those stories.

(I don't mean making fun of people who are new to exercise or anything like that. More like making fun of people who seem to be rude, lazy, vain, etc.... I was honestly at the gym when a guy was vaguely trying to do situps while talking on his cell phone. What the heck is that??!)

So as has been typical for the last couple challenges it seems like I set it up and then don't return till time to recap :( I blame the 4 week format, which is why I combined the last three challenges into one...having one massive spreadsheet for this has been interesting, in that I've realized I only get 7 hours or more of sleep a night only 50% of the time...taking into account that I've been off work since the 16th and getting that much sleep almost every night explains why I'm so tired all the time a bit more!

Social goal is going good, we don't even need to visit that one...being back among people that enjoy socializing not to mention my job has helped with this immensely...I probably won't need to keep that one next year.

So, the invigorate goal...as I stated I joined a gym, initially I was only using the treadmill and trying to get my endurance back to where it was previously...when walking up stairs gets me winded (where previously I'd been able to walk a 5k in 45 minutes) I realize I needed to start at the beginning...two weeks I did that until the break came up, bit the bullet and went in to meet with the 'trainer', keep in mind that prior to this I had done basic bodyweight and light weights at home, (social phobia is a thing, fear of looking 'silly' is a bigger thing)...I put trainer in quotes because included in the membership is one that will work with you on creating a workout, but they don't work with you on it, so no one yelling in your face to motivate you or even make sure you're doing it correctly. He did work with me on my modifications for my neck and the nerve damage there, I've been doing this for the last two weeks (aaaand I just realized that since joining the gym I've hit my 5 day a week goal every week so far) and I have to say I'm starting to not only look forward to it, but am getting past some of the "everyone is looking at you and judging you" issues I have about working out in public. We also got bicycles for Xmas and went for a 4 mile ride at the beach on Xmas day after doing beach cleanup with a group I'm a part of. Looking forward to doing more of that! I do need to add that here in the great state of FL it was a beautiful 75 degrees on Xmas day :D

So this gets me caught up to current...not going to make any promises about posting here again before the new year  still looking at what I want to focus on for the next year, thinking since incorporating the last three months together seemed to work well that it might work for next year too...at least that way i won't feel like I'm 'restarting' every 4 weeks
