First Daily Dare of 2017! (Jan 02 - Feb 04)

Recommended Posts

Did the squats hold. Tried for EC, but ack the quad pain got to me. Did 1:00, the 45s then 15 s. Seemed like with the 45 seconds I could just make myself keep going, but I was falling over, so I had to stop:lol:

Did this in about four stages, so just the 1 point for me. Still felt good when my stopwatch hit 2 minutes though :)

Wow that was horrible, but I was very happy that my first set was 55 seconds...better than I expected.  These first 2 days have been horrible for a newbie...but doing them is always better than doing nothing.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow's.

Are you new to exercising? And you did 55 seconds-that's super impressive. I managed 60 seconds but thought I was going to die, and I've been doing BW exercises for a bit.

Not really, but I mostly lift very heavy stuff...I don't do much body weight work except for warmups.  But my old trainer loved using the Sally Goes Up thing for warmups, so we got lots of practice in the bottom of a sit.  I freaking' hate that song.

Riiiiiggghhht? I freakin' love that song.

Oh and daily dare 60sec reverse plank hold done. I thought I would die. But I didn't. 3 dares 3 extra credits... boooyaa!

Have you done that with pushups? That's freaking brutal.

Reverse planks with EC done! I had to use chalk to stop my hands from sliding all over the mat but once I did that it was fairly cool to hold.

I'm in again, after totally failing to meet my goal on this last time I'll try and do a bit better this time around!

Also, belated congratulations to @jonfirestar for getting Daredevil on the last challenge!

My expectations yesterday were that I'd ace the squat hold but I had to split it up into 2x 1 minute. Today I thought I'd do horrible with the reverse plank but could easily hold it for one more minute. I guess this challenge will be full of surprises for me.

Reverse plank wasn't something I'd heard of before. I figured that doing the Daily Dares might introduce me to a few new exercises here and there, but it's only the second day for me! Got it done in one go. Might even add that one into a home bodyweight workout when I can't get to the gym :)

Revers plank done with EC. I've done this once before, for the Daily Dare PvP early last year!

I tried it and got to about 20 seconds , and got a massive foot cramp:angry: After stretching my foot, I decided to give it another go, and was able to hold it for 60 seconds.

All done for today, in stages of 10-10-5 each side. That started off easy and got hard very quickly!

I think I cheated a bit with just laying my spare arm against my side, but those yoga side stretches were probably really good for this

I did it this way too. Didn't notice that the picture has him with his spare arm in front. Not sure if that would have made it harder?

I decided to go back and try the way his spare arm was in the picture. I don't think it changed the level of difficulty, both ways seemed pretty tough to me. A good way to get the blood pumping on a cold winter day.
