Though I have been at the gym pretty consistently for 3 weeks or so, I will restart my battle log with my reborn alter ego of Gaelic Samurai. Inspired by my heritage, my deep interest in Japanese and eastern thinking, my family in Japan, and by the picture, Wolverine and his relentlessness despite all the troubles.

Yesterday was a weight session and I started with bench after the warmup. Then it was arm day, good choice doofus it was a Monday AND the New Years crowd, and all went swimmingly.

Bench 3x5 @180lbs

EZ Bar curl 3x10 @50,60,60

DB Hammer Curl 3x10 @25

EZ Bar reverse curl 3x10 @40

Triceps Pressdown 4x10 @ 50,57.5,57.5,65

Push-ups 2x20

Overhead Tricep extension 2x15 @15,20

First workout of the 250k challenge from bodybuilding.com. Scheduled workouts for the next 3 weeks and although in general I didn't feel great, I got it done. I might tweak my workouts to do more back and rear delt, other than the bench because I am definitely imbalanced still in terms of shoulders.

Alternating db bench press 3x20 @47.5

Standing Arnold Press 3x24 @25

Standing L raises 3x14 @10

Days got mixed up due to a brain fart and forgetting gym shoes one day. Yesterday was legs and I am still fighting back through injuries so the volume was enough for sure.

Deadlifts 3x5 @245

Bulgarian split squats 3x10 each w/25lb dbs leg.

Yesterday was a good start to the week, although I almost didn't go. Going to stay at current weights for bench and deadlifts for a week or so and make sure I am good on form before moving to higher weights.

Bench 3x5 @190

Inverted rows 12,12,12,10 @bw

Standing DB Rows 3x10 @32.5 db

ez bar curl 3x10 @60

Hammer curls 3x10 @20

Russian twists with 4lb medicine ball. 4 sets to failure.

It was a light day yesterday, just Deadlifts and a cardio session. Felt good but I was having some joint soreness today so I took the day off to get after it again tomorrow.

Had to get my workout in quick today due to some work issues. Still felt good, and I hit 3 days this week even though some of my other goals are falling behind.

Wishing I had healthier knees, because I could really go out and kick some a$$ today, and I mean in a workout way. Yesterday went well, taking a week off from bench just because of a lingering shoulder thing and seeing if I can fix that little nagging point. Also I am not counting Bodyweight exercises in my quest to lift 1 Million pounds, wahahahahaha. It sucks, because pullups should really be like 200lbs a rep, but it is my rule and I am sticking to it.

 

Pullups 4 sets 8,6,5,5

Standing DB rows 10,10,12 reps @37.5,40, 40

Single Arm high cable pulls 2x15 each arm 22.5, 27.5

Alternating incline DB curl 4x10 @22.5

W curls 3x12 @20

3 sets of russian twists to failure

Got some pointers on my Deadlift form yesterday from a nice fellow named Chad. Really helped my starting position and though the initial pull was a little harder, it felt much more stable after that. I wish I could do more explosive leg work, but my knees are definitely holding me back still.

The problem with bodyweight exercises, they don't contribute to my goal of 1 million pounds haha. Felt good to start the week right in the gym, and I will be using the next week and a half to try and solve my other aspects that have not been as consistent as my workouts. Getting the body right, now I have to start working on the mind.

 

Inverted rows 4x12

Dumb bell row kickback 3x12 @20

DB Curls 3x10 @27.5

Russian twists w/3kg ball 4x25
