So like most other members, my 2016 was not the best but it was definitely not the worst. I started the year at my highest weight and ended up losing 26lbs. I did 2 5ks, stopped drinking soda (8/30/16) and completed a Whole30. All of those things were awesome but this year I want to do better.

Each week I will do the following with a bonus task (see below for week bonuses). 

 

  1. Workout - Salvage 3 gadgets per workout
  2. Weight myself on Sundays - Loot 1 Dinglehopper for each weigh in
  3. 10 min Yoga - Discover 2 gizmos every 10 mins
  4. 1 Mobility exercise a day - Recover 1 whosits per mobility exercise
  5. Read for 5 hours - Acquire 5 thingamabobs every week
  6. Bullet Journal tracking - Find 1 whatsits per day of tracking 
  7. Bullet Journal page designs - Obtain 2 whatsits per page design

 

Points : 100 antiques/artifacts = passing

 

Bonus Tasks Per week (8 artifacts available to collect)

Week 1 : Life isn't perfect but that doesn't mean you stop living. (Pocket Watch + Grandfather Clock)

 

Tasks : Create a workout routine & cleaning schedule I can stick with. It doesn't have to be perfect but it needs to be done.

Week 2 : Don't let anyone take your voice away! (A birdcage + A Sword)

 

Tasks : Do the Women's March in Seattle (1/21) & Knit pussyhat for the March. Find other opportunities to be heard.

Week 3 : Have impossible dreams and work towards a goal. (Books + Helm)

 

Tasks : Figure out what my fitness end game is. Find my purpose.

Tasks : Create my costume for the Disney Princess 5k and post finished product pictures to Instagram

So I have an idea for my outfit. My ideas tend to be sort of overly detailed and usually clash horribly with reality. I'm trying to keep it simple but who knows what will happen. Lol

Not sure if I can be of any help on the princess costume but I'll try.

Diet is 80% of losing weight, exercise is 80% of motivation.

The only thing I am 100% sure of is my ability to be wrong.

What kind of mobility?  I've been doing some primal movement stuff on my non-strength training days.  They are more tiring than they look.  The following 2 videos are what I've been using one after the other during the same workout, but there are tons of them out there.  The third is just one I like to watch when I'm doing basic stretching.  Not sure if its because I enjoy watching the girl, the types of movements possible, or both. lol  Primal movement has introduced me to a whole new type of exercising.

I avoided the bad stuff and decided to focus on the good. :) I think a lot of us forget to look back at all we've done. I know for me sometimes my progress is not that noticeable. It's good to remember that while some parts truly sucked, we all had moments where we kicked total butt!

When you mentioned the Disney princess 5k I immediately thought of Princess Leia.  Not a typical Disney princess but a totally baddass one. 

 

I'm so ready! That is a great Princess aka General to think about. :)

I'm at the place where I know I need to work on mobility and flexibility but not sure where to start. I love the first video you linked and I think that might be a great starting point for me. The 2nd one looks super tiring but how do you stand the shaky camera? 

 

Thank you for bringing up primal movements, I'll need to dig more into that.

I really dislike using colored pencils but practice makes perfect right? Not my favorite and was going to use acrylic but I was worried about the paper. It still works...

Thanks guys! I struggle a lot with the human form so it was a simple way to push myself. Ariel looks perfect because of camera angle and lighting. Lol :D

I started my biggest loser type contest today at work. I figured why not participate since I'm already trying to get healthier. Now my official weight comes from my home scale but it's interesting to see the difference between the one I use all the time and the one at work, it was 4lbs different today.

Finishing 2 books this week for book club has been the most productive thing I've done all week. 

 

Oh and returned some art supplies to buy groceries. So much adulting.
