The Darkspawn horde approaches and the time of the Final Battle has come.

9k=

We'll need to defeat enough of the army to draw out the Archdemon before we can kill it and end this Blight.

Hurlocks make up most of the front line troops, and our Dwarven allies have taken up positions along the routes our scouts identified.  To fight the Hurlocks, perform push exercises of your chosen difficulty (the same as your Joining) and log your reps on the Final Battle.  You'll earn one point each time you perform a number of reps equal to your Joining AMRAP (you aren't required to do AMRAP sets, EG if your Joining AMRAP was 8, you can perform a set of 8, two sets of 4, four sets of 2, etc to earn 1point).  All Grey Wardens will gain a bonus for the aid of the Dwarves and effectiveness of our scouting.  The Dwarven champions will receive an additional bonus in recognition for their contribution.

Genlocks are taking up position to fire arrows into our ranks, but our wards and traps are denying them the best areas.  To return fire, perform pull exercises of your chosen difficulty (the same as your Joining) and log your reps on the Final Battle.  You'll earn one point each time you perform a number of reps equal to your Joining AMRAP (you aren't required to do AMRAP sets, EG if your Joining AMRAP was 8, you can perform a set of 8, two sets of 4, four sets of 2, etc to earn 1point).  All Grey Wardens will gain a bonus for the wards in the area.

Ogre are testing our defenses all along the line, but our Qunari allies have accepted the challenge and our fortifications are holding.  To drive back the Ogre, perform leg exercises of your chosen difficulty (the same as your Joining) and log your reps on the Final Battle.  You'll earn one point each time you perform a number of reps equal to your Joining AMRAP (you aren't required to do AMRAP sets, EG if your Joining AMRAP was 8, you can perform a set of 8, two sets of 4, four sets of 2, etc to earn 1point).  All Grey Wardens will gain a bonus for the aid of the Qunari and strength of our fortifications.  The Qunari champions will receive an additional bonus for their valor against the cave demon.

Shriek have slipped past our line and are attempting to route our forces.  Our Mage allies are using their spells to contain the assault and heal the wounded and the discipline taught during our drills is serving well.  To assist against the Shriek, perform core exercises of your chosen difficulty (the same as your Joining) and log your reps on the Final Battle.  You'll earn one point each time you perform a number of reps equal to your Joining AMRAP (you aren't required to do AMRAP sets, EG if your Joining AMRAP was 8, you can perform a set of 8, two sets of 4, four sets of 2, etc to earn 1point).  All Grey Wardens will gain a bonus for the aid of the Mages and effectiveness of our training.  Those who supported the Aequitarians will receive an additional bonus.

Additionally, any Grey Warden may receive an additional bonus to a task by showing AMRAP improvement in their chosen exercises.  Reps performed during an AMRAP test may also be counted towards defeating the Darkspawn.

We'll need a total of 200 points among all Grey Wardens, with at least 25 points per Darkspawn, to incite the Archdemon into appearing.

You have until  Saturday 11March at 11:59PM Eastern to defeat the Archdemon!

Question, how do we do that? My amrap has definitely gone up in a few areas if not all!

@Anim07734 I was able to do a few reps in the next tier of exercises, is there a way to count these towards the final battle or are we just using the ones we where doing for the Joining?

The spreadsheet has an additional AMRAP column for each of the four exercises.  Fill out any AMRAPs that have improved

Yep, just retest your AMRAP and enter the number into the AMRAP column.  You'll earn a bonus if your new AMRAP is higher than when you started.  There's no penalty if your AMRAP dropped or stayed the same though, so there's no reason not to check. :friendly_wink:

Total reps performed will go in the Reps column.  Don't forget to include those performed during your AMRAP test to earn the points.

If you want to count reps in a higher tier towards your total reps, that's fine.  But they still only counts as one rep each (no extra points).

The task sheet is updated to reflect the lower-tier exercises in Push and Core.  You're still working from your Joining scores, so you'll need more reps to get the same number of points (double for push and 8x for core).  Feel free to include any reps you've already done this week, though.

Let me know how your recovery is looking next week and I can make the same modifications for the final battle.

My sprain is healed and I'm going full bore this week.  No modifications necessary!  Thanks!

I think there might be something wrong with the spreadsheet. I was just trying to update the Final Battle sheet with my latest reps, and any time I click on any cell in my row, I get the error message "You are trying to edit a protected cell or object."

The Archdemon

http://media.giphy.com/media/13Pyp3VAoeqUY8/giphy.gif

With the Darkspawn horde stalled by the Grey Wardens and their allies, the Archdemon has decided to take matters into its own hands.  Leaving the horde to their allies, the Grey Wardens rally together to focus on the leader!

To fight the Archdemon, perform any exercises of your chosen difficulty (the same as your Joining) and log your reps on the Final Battle.  You'll earn one point each time you perform a number of reps equal to your Joining AMRAP in each exercise (you aren't required to do AMRAP sets, EG if your Joining AMRAP was 8, you can perform a set of 8, two sets of 4, four sets of 2, etc to earn 1point).

Additionally, any Grey Warden will continue to receive al bonus by showing AMRAP improvement in their chosen exercises.  Reps performed during an AMRAP test may also be counted towards defeating the Archdemon (though not if they were already counted against the Darkspawn horde).

A total of 100 points among all Grey Wardens is needed to defeat the Archdemon.  The Warden with the highest total contribution will take the final blow, making the ultimate sacrifice to save the world from the Blight.

You caught me in the middle of an update.  :playful:  Just enter any reps under the Archdemon.

Excellent Move!!!  The Archdemon's hit points have been reduced by 49 points.

This guy will be a push over.  ;-)  But I sense a Dragonlord fake out...

I have been playing Dragon Warrior for the NES on an Android Emulator for a few months now.  I just made it to Level 20 so I can finally challenge and hopefully defeat the Dragonlord.  Then do I start on the next in the series, or try something different?  Hmm...

More on the WOOT side, I have improved my Advanced Shrimp Squats AMRAP from 22 to 43 and my Typewriter Push-Ups from 6 to 19!

Is that the highest contribution at the time we reach 100 points or can I sneak in and do 49.29 points-worth and beat JediNickD to the killing blow? :D

After a bitter struggle, the Grey Wardens manage to overcome the Archdemon.  JediNickD (49.28 points) rushes forward to deal the killing blow.

Suddenly bereft of all guidance, the Darkspawn horde is routed, fleeing back to the Deep Roads and other forgotten places.  There is still much rebuilding to accomplish, but for today at least, the world is safe.

The Grey Wardens may pursue the fleeing Darkspawn to further reduce their numbers and slow their return.  To do so, continue entering reps under the Archdemon columns, for honor, glory, and bragging rights!

I totally read this as "he (JediNickD) is going to die".  As in receiving (taking) the (a) final blow (and thus dying - but not before making a lengthy dramatic monologue) instead of (or, rather, in addition to) delivering (making) the final blow.

I still think long clarinet practice sessions should count as core exercises. ;) I just spent the last three days learning and memorizing an 8-minute piece that I just got in the mail for my recital in a month!

To clarify, for those who haven't played Dragon Age (shame on you):  the Joining ritual allows a Warden to kill the Archdemon, but they die in the process.  If anyone else manages to kill an Archdemon, it's power travels to the nearest Darkspawn, which becomes the new Archdemon.
