Excellent goals. Especially that perfectionism one. And the tensing. Man do I do the tensing.

Thanks :)

I believe tensing and perfectionism are related. At least in my case. When I'm not trying to be perfect I get a lot less tense.

Food

I ate clean, but more than I probably should have. I was very hungry today and a little tired, that is not a good combination :P

Fitness

I went swimming with J. And it was so great! He did everything I asked without the whining and he enjoyed himself. I made him swim a greater distance and he was so proud at himself for doing it (I did walk besides him and helped him breath, because I hadn't taught him that yet, but the swimming he did by himself without aids)

Life

Time got away from me today, so no tidying. But I did contact an other real estate agent. Mostly because the two that had been here were so different in their approaches, and they had both things I really liked and things I didn't like as much. Well, maybe the decision will be even harder when I have to pick from three different ones, but there is no harm in trying right? I also made an appointment with a mortgage specialist, and contacted a handyman to make tiny fixes in the house to make it look better. So today was not a total loss.

One of the things that helped me with perfectionism was learning about an older definition of perfect. Today we use perfect to mean flawless, with no way to criticize. 2000 years ago in the Greco-Roman world the word meant "complete." So at that time perfecting something did not mean removing flaws, but rather bringing it to completion.  Used of people, it had the idea of nurturing something to help it grow and mature.

food

So many binge attacks today. I was strong and fought them off. Even resited bying chocolate that was for sale. But after dinner I was done. I tried to get back on track, but failed.

I think the reason for this was hormones and still not being fully recovered.

Fitness

I wanted to just lay on the couch all morning,  but I gave myself a good kick in the butt and went to zumba. I was not sorry I went. It was lots of fun :D

Life

I did a little tidying,  but being so low on energy made it hard and I got less done than I wanted

Week 0, day 5

Food

So many moments that I just wanted to binge. So many moments I just wanted chocolate.

I had to do the grocery shopping today and since it's almost valentines day, there is chocolate for sale everywhere. And I wanted the chocolate. But I reminded myself that the only reason for my urge to binge eat was my urge to binge eat, and I managed to snap out of it and I didn't buy chocolate.

I ate a lot of freggies today, so that is good. But in the evening I was too tired from resisting all day and I gave in.

It could have been worse, but there just wasn't so much bad food in the house :P

I've planned my meals for tomorrow again, and I'm hoping I'll be stronger

Fitness

I skipped salsa class. Partly because I was just so tired still, and partly because I'm running way behind on chores. I think I made the right decision.

Life

The house we wanted to look at tomorrow got sold today :(

But there is still a lot to do before we can put our house on the marked. I got the moving boxes from the attic (we have 5 of them, I have no idea how we managed to move to this house with just 5 boxes...), so I can pack away some stuff we don't use too often.

We've run in to this a couple of times in the last six months.  Most houses here linger on the market forever, but the good ones seem to go quickly.

Boo on the house. This means there's another house for you!!

Thanks <4

Yes, there will be other houses :)

The problem here is that there are so many starter houses (houses for people that buy their first house), and not many family houses for sale. Our house is a typical starters house. We bought it a year before the house market collapsed with the intent to fix it up and sell it within 5 years. Now we are finally able to move, but all the others who did the same got the same idea :P Now we are all fighting for the family houses, and it's still not very feasible for young people to buy a house so they rent one.

Now that sounds extremely familiar. :)

We have the added dimension of being a predominantly military town, so nobody who buys here stays around very long.  It also means they don't maintain well, so houses that are less than 10 years old are in much worse shape than they should be.  But since soldiers get a housing allowance based on their rank it creates an artificial price floor (for rents, too) that makes it hard to find a quality home at an affordable price.  I'd rather keep renting and waiting than jump in to a bad deal.  We've got nothing but time.

We've literally grown out of our house, so we don't have the luxury of much time. The boys are sharing a very small room (bunk beds and no room to play there), and I've got my business in the middle of the living room :P

Week 0, day 6

Food

I started strong, got really hungry and just gave up.

Learning and moving on: I need more filling meals tomorrow

Fitness

Nothing planned today

Life

We had a handyman come by who can fix the little things that can make the house prettier while not costing much. Some paint here and there, replacing door handles, that kind of stuff. I also arranged for some furnature and stuff that we don't need every day to be shipped to my MIL. She has a big shed where we can put it. The goal is to make the house as empty as possible while still being able to live here so it will look big and roomy for the pictures.

I've wrote down a plan to empty the house in my BuJo. It will probably take about 2 weeks to get the house ready. I'm talking to a third real estate agent tomorrow and than I'll pick the one I like best.

Things are really moving, and I like it :D

Week 0, day 7

Food

I am an idiot.

I put it in my roadmap.

The books I've readinng (eatQ and brain over binge) both said it.

And still: I tried to follow a diet (clean eating as tosca reno describes it)

NO MORE DIETS

I binge because of them. I feel terrible because of them.

Now I'm not going to focus on restriction anymore. I'm going to focus on eating MORE freggies and drinking MORE water. And focus on feeling whether or not I am full or hungry.

Fitness

I went swimming with A. He did so well!

When he went from the giant crocodile slide he lost his earplugs, so I was able to do some diving myself. I didn't find them :( I had to buy new ones. The diving was fun though :D

Life

Almost all the pieces are set in motion: My sister is going to help us move the furniture and boxes, I rented a small trailer that my parents will put behind their car, and my MIL agreed to have the furniture stored at her house and shed. I've got two weeks to pack everything up. I think that's plenty of time.

Tomorrow the third real estate agent will come and I'll pick one and make appointments to shoot photo's and such.

We are really doing this!!! I'm so exited! And a bit scared :P But mostly excited :D

I don't know where I read it: don't make your goals something a dead person can do better than you (eat less, don't eat this, don't do that); instead try doing more of the good things.

Week 1, day one

Food

Many freggies and water today :D

And I feel better and more relaxed for not restricting myself

Fitness

I'm beat from today's adventures, so I am skipping salsa class

Moving arround stuff gave me a great workout though :D

Life

I talked to the last real estate agent today. And of all the points I was in doubt about what was best with the other two: she was somewhere in the middle. So I think we'll choose her.

I also did a lot of tidying up. There is still much to do, but this was a great first day :)

For the doodlie pvp, 3 things I'm grateful for:

- I'm grateful for my boys being healthy

- I'm grateful for both my boys to get an excellent school report

- I'm grateful for my bike that gets me everywhere
