Anyone who thinks about venturing into this madness needs all the luck they can wrangle I dabbled with selling paintings in person and online but it is no where near full time. I have an Instagram and Facebook where I share works in progress and I networked a lot to find some awesome Maker's Markets/ Art shows/ and galleries in the area. But I don't have a car right now nor do I have an EZ Up or comparable tent and I don't ever feel like my paintings are where I want them to be. To make it happen I have to get over the fear that my work isn't good enough, then I need to make prints, and finally I need to get a nice booth set up. ^^ Yeah just those things. 3 Quote Link to comment

I think it's important to remember that the people buying your work will see it very differently than you do. The average lay person doesn't have the same eye that an artist does and is more willing to accept what you would call flaws as enhancements. Also, I think your stuff is gorgeous and I can't wait to buy all of it (as soon as I have a place to hang it in my disaster of a house, oi). 2 Quote Duolingo (Spanish) Memrise (Japanese) Languaphiles Anonymous on Memrise SMS Respawns at Level 1 CFO and Associate Editor, Caffeinated Press Link to comment

Luciana Valerosa Culming
I watched a documentation about Lovecraft yesterday. He seemed to be a really hard critic on himself, too. People working in the craft have a much more trained eye. I can't watch movies for more than 15 minutes anymore before I start noticing things that were done well or badly in VFX. For instance; in the Rogue One Star Wars spin off. There are two actors that have been completely reconstituted by VFX. For a layperson, that is awe-inducing. For me... well, I saw every single detail that was a dead giveaway of the VFX. They were impressive, that is for sure, but they were not perfect by any means. 1 Quote Goblin | Level 7 | STR: 4 | DEX: 2 | STA: 3 | CON: 3.5 | WIS: 8 | CHA: 2.5 Nerdfitness Character, Past challenges: 1 1 2 2 3 4 5 5 6, Current challenge (March 19 - April 15): click Tough Mudder Ireland || Battle for Graduation || My Neverending Story (on hiatus) Link to comment

I thought Leia was ok, but thats because her screen-time was like... 2.5 seconds With Tarkin.... omg the eyes. The eyes! If you spent more than five seconds on them, they were just creepy. The person who added that weird glint there should be sacked. Also, it probably was even worse than it appeared since he was in half-darkness the entire time. Very smart of the supervisors there. Leia did not have any expression whatsoever and that is what allowed them to get away with it. Which is sad because the Tarkin books were excellent and that character is a fan favorite (and Star Wars novels need all the excellence they can get to combat all the, "their blades sang the song of battle," nonsense that they usually contain). I will admit that I haven't read most of the novels. The only one I've read is this first one by Chuck Wendig, which I really enjoyed. Day 2 of the challenge! Do you want to be my food tracker accountabilibuddy?
