@Big_Show: That's a great idea - I do a separate thing with our travels; kind of a hybrid scrapbook/journal with pics, little descriptions of the days, and odds and ends - and they're always fun looking back on.

 

A couple years in the sandpit would make for an interesting collection - I know my DH kinda wishes he'd saved more than a couple bucks in currency from his war contribution.

@miss_marissa: So. Much. Saaaaaaaalt.

 

Not as much as that Cobb Salad Of Death (I'm still freaking traumatized), but still ... gotta stop having those days and it feels like I'm having them a lot lately - my Sunday burger was so salty it was almost inedible too.

Nope.

Breakfast: Quest Bar & coffee

Lunch: The last of the Spanish chicken with leftover cauliflower mash

Dinner: One of the DH's tortillas with the last of the kielbasa and tons of mustard - cooked in kielbasa grease

Snack: Almond milk misto

Snack: Peanut butter fat bombs

 

Goal 3: Get A Job

 

Last office hours for class and I got to help 2 students - one pretty intensely and we may have an additional study session after class where we work on design fundamentals.

 

Worked on my daily CSS but didn't have time to finish. Gears. Cogs are finicky.

 

Applied for 14 jobs.

 

Did 2:30 of copywriting and reached out to figure out how to get paid.

 

Signed up to attend a few networking meet ups while I'll be definitely off of class, so it looks like I'll still have zero free time.

On the carb front, it's interesting that that now happens to my body - and I know I've overdone it the day before. Know empirically - not a feeling, not something I can ignore - there's a cause and clear effect.

 

I am not used to this level of unambiguity, but I'm liking it.

Goal 1: Work Out

 

Nooooope. This week, next week and maaaaaaaaaybe the week after I'm on 1 hot yoga trip + walking when it's convenient + moving.

 

Goal 2: Macros

 

Erm. Was doing great - and then the DH reminded me that we never ate the Reese's hearts I bought for Valentines Day. That have been sitting on the corner of the desk in full view of both of us since the 14th.

 

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs + Avocado + coffee

Lunch: Roasted broccoli & chicken

Snack: Garbage coffee on the way to school

Dinner: Salmon with shiritaki noodle, butter & Parmesan pasta

Snack: GD DELICIOUS Reese's heart

 

Goal 3: Get A Job

 

Finished today's CSS: a graph icon -

 

Which I find doubly hilarious because making a bar graph was the code challenge I failed last.

 

Aaaaaaaaaand the Daily CSS guy just launched a daily SVG challenge - which I'm 100% Practicing Restraint And Not Signing Up For Right Now Despite Only Wanting To Play With SVGs For The Last Week.

 

I'll sign up *after* my CSS challenge.

To be done concurrently with that vanilla JavaScript challenge I need to go back to.

 

Talked to my lead instructor about job stuff; he had no concrete leads, but will ask around.

 

Helped students out in the afternoon because final project deadline is here!

 

Talked to a woman at a dog rescue I'm interested in volunteering with - it's an all-volunteer staff, and dogs are a good enough cause that I won't feel like a sucker donating my skills. Plus: she works in tech + the HR ish person is a tech recruiter. So, there's that.

 

Soooooo .... more shit to eat my time that doesn't pay.

 

Buuuuutttt... dogs.

 

Goal 4: Minimize

 

The DH got the walls patched & painted and I did jack & shit.

 

Imma make a damn box today - the bathroom is getting packed, the rest of the dishes are getting packed, and the surplus dishes are getting dragged to the trash room.

 

Maybe I'll also pack my desk.

 

After copywriting & before school.

@Fonzico: Puppers are the best. And I'm looking at it like networking + I'll do a full UI workup, so I'll turn it into a portfolio piece as well.

 

I also just read a piece on volunteering your services for free and whether this is a good or bad thing. The general point of the article was that it *can* be a good thing - providing you have complete control over what you're donating, and you are taking the project for what it is - a chance to let yourself go creatively with something you love doing.

 

I think on that front, I'm doing well. I have creative control at the free place (which I argue constantly with the opinions guy to retain - luckily the actual leader is always on my side), and with this project I would insist on the same.

Excuse about it being the last day of class. And the pizza being from the restaurant of the student I've been helping a bunch over the past few days. It was freaking delicious.

I also had a slice of pepperoni, an additional quarter olive oil doughnut (the other flavor was ricotta stuffed with a beet glaze), and a baby glass of wine.

 

Needless to say, my stomach hurt last night.

 

It wasn't excruciating, so there's that - and I didn't overeat. I'm not sick this morning, just hungry.

 

Also had:

 

Quest Bar & coffee for breakfast

Double serving of shiritaki noodles + chicken + 2 eggs + a little Parmesan in butter for lunch

Had full of macadamias and a garbage coffee for a snack

 

Goal 3: Get A Job

 

Last day of class, and I came in early to help students with last-minute issues.

Also applied for 2 jobs.

 

And print d copies of my resume because I'm now going to 3 damn job fairs next week.

 

And did my daily CSS - the JavaScript logo.

 

Goal 4: Minimize

 

Packed most of the bathroom. Found out I can't ditch all the bowls I want to - the ones I wanted to pitch are the DH's favorites. Dammit. I don't *want* 12 bowls when I have 4 plates. When we get to the new place, 2 of each kind may disappear.

 

I feel like I packed something else ....

 

The DH booted the printer he hates with a passion out the door.

 

I can now pack clothes & pantry - I probably won't cook again after lunch today.

Yep. Made it to hot yoga, and class was good. I felt mostly strong and gave mostly full power effort during planks and stuff I hate.

 

Goal 2: Macros

Peanut butter fat bombs for snack

Delivery from the crazy Mexican place for dinner - I got a mixed grill fajita plate with kale as a side - great - aaaand we got the brownie. Goddamn those brownies are delicious. Had half a brownie.

 

Goal 3: Get A Job

 

Did my CSS, wrote some copy & called it a day.

 

Goal 4: Minimize

 

The bed is gone. The dog thinks he's too little to crawl up onto the mattress. He's an idiot.

Hey, all. I'm not dead - the move happened. I've been eating like absolute garbage and of course my body feels like shit.

 

Also: zero workouts or yoga has happened.

 

And I haven't even opened my computer since last Friday.

 

I'll be back hopefully this weekend - and hope to get some work done tomorrow!
