Yes, protein powder will help in a big way. And I'm exploring all options on other protein - the chicken and salmon are more of a skill building goal - would like to get good at making TASTY and NON-DRY chicken breast and salmon - let the experiments begin! Laghail Posted February 8, 2017 Report Share Posted February 8, 2017 I'm cool with protein powder, but its satiation factor is pretty low for most people, like it can leave me feeling not-full after drinking 280 calories. But you might respond differently to liquid calories, gotta experiment I guess. Are you cool with cabbage? Haven't studied CAIA yet, but food prepped and planned - ready for the day. Fonzico Posted February 8, 2017 Report Share Posted February 8, 2017 Your challenge title speaks to me... I'm breaking up with bread too. So love/hate. And you gotta be roasting that cabbage! Chop it up, mix in your fat of choice and a splash of water, and stick it in a 375 oven for 45 mins or so, stirring a couple times and adding small amounts of water if it's burning too much. A little burning is a good thing. Also good is stove-top - a little oil, some onion and some broth, low heat and lid on. Stick the chicken, frozen, in your crock pot with soup mixings for like 8 hours, then shred it at the end. Stuff just falls apart. Another option is pan fried. Thawed chicken cooked in a little bit of olive oil or similar and a bunch of spices. Solid recommendation on crockpot chicken. I think pan fried chicken can be especially tender if you put the breasts in the pan frozen, and cook them with a little water and the lid on the pan. Once they're semi thawed, pull them out and cube the chicken, dump the water, and sauté in butter or oil along with your onions and garlic. Keep the lid on for more tender results. Or for real lazy asshole cooking, throw a bag of frozen broccoli or stir fry veg in with the raw onions. As noted above, was up 4:50am Workout - walked about 45 minutes (not much else) Eating - was clean... until evening, when my later-night snacking happens. This is where I fail most often - and it might best be solved by my early mornings (forcing earlier bed times). I'd love to have a habit of being done eating after a 5-ish dinner. Otherwise, I will just keep destroying all progress made in the day. It is kinda sad how timid I was about just doing this - there's NOBODY ELSE HERE to be intimidated by! Why so timid? ugh.
