For the BIL: I'm happy to hear that he's on the mend!

For the SO: All of those questions, you will NOT have an answer to all at once. Some of those will come sooner than later but never all at once. You're still thinking a lot about What if's scenarios and that's adding more stress than you need. You need to calm down and not let these thoughts get the better of you. Secondly, you cannot control what other people are thinking so stop those thoughts right then and there! If your friend dislikes/likes your boyfriend, then you have absolutely NO control over that whatsoever, so STOP thinking about it. Who's to say that your BFF and your BF won't become friends with each other? It is outside of your control. If you're happy being single, then be happy. If you're single and someone shows you that you can also be happy not being single, then enjoy that as well! All of your thoughts that start with "If" You must eliminate them immediately, why? Because none of this will matter IF the zombie apocalypse occurs. See? It's OK to have doubts and hesitations, but it's not ok to overthrow your brain with things that you have no control over and things that haven't happened yet. Take a deep breathe, and just calm down.

Thanks for all the advice and support guys.    <3

Just finished up dinner:  filet, sauteed zucchini, yellow squash, onion and tomato, with a light sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and a half a baked potato.   So delicious.   Got about 40 minutes of art in and I did in fact throw Ezraldo into MS and see if I could adjust the pencil sketch enough to encourage me to finish it.   I think so, maybe.   He had a familiar named Edwin, so since he doesn't really have weapons I added his owl in.     Now just need to kill some time before hockey.

WEEK 3 SUMMARY

Goal #1 - Be Combat Ready!

1A.  Strong like Grog!

1B.  Move like Vex!

1C.   Center like Keyleth

giphy.gif

If my intent was to center like Keyleth, I feel like this is what it looked like!

  • Stronglifts 3x / Week  - 3 of 3, boom.
  • Run, walk, move 2x / Week - 3 Total!  Ran on Tues, Hockey Friday, Dance Central Sunday
  • Active Rest 1-2x / Week  - 1 rest day, no yoga, just chill.  (Was Thursday.)

Had to shift stuff all around this week to accommodate the hockey on Friday, but I made it work.   Only not great part of that was that my rest day was Thursday- when D&D night happens.   Least calories burnt, on a day I trend high.

Goal #2 - GM's Gotta Number!

tumblr_inline_o6d4p3Ra2R1r33r5p_540.gif

How I feel about tracking food restriction in general this week.

  • Food Tracking M-F 100% 5x/week - This week was a 5 day full tracking only.
  • Saturday/Sunday Variances 2 MEALS/week - Thursday night pizza binge and Sunday night starving binge happened.   But other meals for the weekend were tracked, so I did still make this goal.

It was a very high stress week for me.   Also a week out of routine.   Wednesday night Hawks game meant drive-thru food.   Thursday night game table drama meant pizza was ordered and cookies were had.   I had only two meals not tracked, and I managed to stay in deficit for Wed.    But by the end of the week I was in full blown food rage trying to plan outings with friends, where I could eat enough food that I felt satiated, without it being a calorie bomb.  (Restaurant food Sucks for that, btw.)   I've hung in there, so there's that at least.  But man, I am not happy about things right now.

Goal #3 - Bard's do it all!

giphy.gif

  • BuJo - Every day I'm BuJoing.   7x/week   - 5/7
  • Read 1 Chapter of Bible.   7x/week   - 7/7
  • Write affirmation.  7x/week.   - 7/7
  • SHARE an affirmation.  1x/week.   - Oh crap!  I forgot about this one!   I will post two next week.
  • Art Stuff.  3/x week  -  4/3
  • D&D planning.  2 hours/week. - Did get a fair amount of work on the D&D game.  Tons of thanks to @Oramac for letting me bounce stuff off him and basically helping me brain storm here on NF! <3

There were a couple of days the BuJo didn't get pulled out.   I did get back to it over the weekend and pre-plotted this week.  It's definitely helped me keep my sanity about all the things I feel I gotta keep track of.    It was just an all together mess of a week mentally and emotionally, and the stress made everything harder.   I am getting closer to seeing the light of the village, but I am not out of the woods yet.

Stuff Still Going On:

- The appt. with the specialist I was going to see, about my struggles with the weight loss and bodyfat?   I found out today the doctors there are NOT covered by my insurance, so with 10 days left to go, on an appt I had to wait 7 weeks for, I had to cancel.

- Tried to make a new appt with a dietician at least, and can't find one local to me so far.   (Work was busy today so I didn't get a ton of calls in.)

- Work has been absolutely crazy.   Problems, hot rushes, fires, angry customers, and too much to keep track of.

- Thursday night D&D game had some drama.   In short, GM wants to run a type of story that most of us get frustrated with, so he up and quit on us this past week.    Another player stepped up to run our next campaign, but it just feels ... strange.   Stressful.   Unnerving.   I can't put my finger on it.    It is what it is though, so I should just try and roll with it.

- Family cancer stuff.   It's as resolved as it can be, and honestly, the BIL is so upbeat and confident and optimistic about it.  It's my sister that's struggling.   And me?  I just wish he could catch a break.   Being on 'security alert red' for the foreseeable future is kinda bogus.

- Boy stuff.    I've at least come to a solid decision on things.    Which is; I am happy with the way my life is right now.  I am GOOD with being single, as it affords me the level of friendship intimacy I am currently VERY satisfied with.    Of course, that means that when I get together on Wed for some arcade fun, I need to convey this honesty with him.   That's never fun.

- Shouldn't be stressful for me, but Hi Anxious Puck!  I am working on running that D&D game and it's new and challenging, so there's some lingering nervousness there too.

UGH, I wonder if typing that all out will help me acknowledge the feelings, then let them the frak go!  (I'ma say prolly not, but wishful thinking and a thing to aim for.)

Week 4 eh?   I got this.   We can do this.    Totally.

Today Stuff.

  • Should have been a lift day.  All around weak.  Muscle strength lacking.   Still sore.  Tired.   Chose to do Yoga instead.  Active Rest day engaged.
  • Food, ended the day with 1350 calories.  Just wasn't hungry for more than that, and it was all healthy eats that left me satisfied.   Also ended up being just about exactly a 500 calorie deficit for the day.
  • Caught up on NF, so yay!
  • Arted for about 40 minutes.

Ezraldo has been given robes, which makes the pic look much better.

This is going to be an absolute challenge to shade.   It frightens me.

Greatly.

hey darling! this has been a really busy week for you. I'm so late to the thread but a couple of spoilered things related to spoilered things.

Spoiler

1. So happy to hear that your BIL is upbeat and optimistic, and that he is doing really well and the prognosis is good. I'm also so thankful that you are in a place where you can support or distract (as needed!) your sis and BIL easily. the hardest thing about having family in health crisis is not being there to do the little things. What a gift that you are right there.

2. re: dudes: I know you've already come to a decision, but I really wanted to say this to you: trust yourself. Trust your instincts. you had the right idea about this earlier, and when you sat down and talked he said just what you thought he would say. You were right. Trust your heart, and trust your ability to handle the ups and downs that come with interacting with human beings. You are a good egg, stronger than you know. you care so strongly about people, and you do so much to make their lives easier and to care for them. you have such capacity for love. trust yourself. and also, trust that God has made you this way, and given you these skills and abilities. :love_heart:

Yes!  All the yes!!

And that goes for you too!

Woke up this morning with a twingy, kinked back of the knee leg thing.   Supposed to be a run day.   It's sunny, 53 (but brutally windy -- like gusts to 40mph).    I'm thinking about gearing up for some outside sunshine time, and just throwing a backpack on with a bit of weight to up the burn.      Hopefully the wind doesn't make it too awful.    This will count as a move day.

I think that listening to the body is going to be the better long term reward, rather than pushing through for 'keeping the streak'.   Besides, it still counts as intentional MOVING.   It's just not a run!

In a twist of awesomeness, sis and bil are very much remotivated to eat super clean to boost everyone's immune systems.   BIL cooked this amazing skinny tex mex chicken and zucchini dish last night, and tonight is slow cooker barbacao something or other!    I'll be eating way more veggies and clean things at home, which is encouraging me to really dial in the work stuff.   Not that what I eat has been bad, but I am trying to up the overall veggies and stuff.

Also, between yesterday's rest day and lower calorie follow up to a week of not so low, the scale dropped back to a number I've seen just 3x in the last two months.   (I can't believe I am getting excited about that when it is only 3lbs down from my highest in Jan. :( ARG!)   Of course, it's confusing as hell because last week I actually ate a CRAP ton of calories.

DATA:

Average Daily Calorie burn from Fitbit:  2370

Total Calories burned M-Su : 16597

Consumed calorise (est) : 13436

Deficit of 3161

I have watched this whole clip like 4x now!  Each to show a new person in my circle, the hilarity, and how the 'characters' may not like the new guy, but the players find a way to give the GM/new character a gimme so as to get him in.

Of course, followed by, The Hazing.   And, the Cryings of Taryon.  Of which my favorite part is his bawling, and saying, "And I caaaan't.  And I neeeeed tooooo."       And Grog goes to bop him and Keyleth is all, "No no! We just found out he's an ugly crier, we can't!"

O M G.     I so badly want to play a character like that now, but I just came off of pun-loving Mira and I'll be traveling with a goofy halfling warlock, a gnome bard, a low int dwarven fighter and a human wizard.   I'm gonna have to be a sensible one haha.

PS.  I love watching Matt's face throughout these clips.

I love it!  Yea, that whole series was fantastic.  The loss of Scanlan and the arrival of Teryon, the Hazing, and the Cryings.

You could play a Bard!  They make plenty of puns and stupid jokes, but can easily still be the "responsible" one too.  I've actually never played a "Face" character, even though my highest level character is (mostly) Sorcerer.  I should remedy that.

If you take the combat college or valor college or whatever it's called they end up pretty damn stabby with a rapier.

Or I may just enjoy any reason to sing Hot Blooded at the table while casting Heat Metal on an enemy's armor.

I'll agree there.  The only bard I ever enjoyed was THE MOST METAL OF BARDS!  He was College of Valor, carried a GREATAXE, and slid on his knees playing a power chord before casting THUNDERSTRUCK! at the baddies in front of him.  When allies were hurt, he'd play a Healing Riff for them too.

This further fuels my theory you've been depriving yourself of the necessary food for your athletic output.

Today Stuff.

- Was another doozy at work.  I could do nothing except actual work while there!    (Yes I realize how this sounds.)    More so, it was just honestly stressful and tiring.   I didn't really get to eat my snacks so much, so I am scrambling for calories today.

- At lunch, I opted for a walk instead of a run since my knee is being weird.    In true Ranger Brain fashion, I grabbed about ten tape catalogs from our shelves, threw them into my backpack so it weighed about ten pounds, and turned my walk into a 'light' ruck?    And then proceeded to walk 2.85 miles on a windy day where the gusts were blowing to 40mph.

See!?  I wasn't lying!

aCQTQjK.jpg

Also - I really don't know if I am gonna make it until my bangs grow full out.

They are really at an unreasonable length, where they annoy me like 24/7,  Oof.

- Got home to the most delicious barbacao ever.   And at 173 calories per half cup... oh yeah baby.  Hit me up.  Followed it up with some Costa Rican decaf, and I have a 1/4 cup of pumpkin seeds ready to be munched on.

- Did some art.   Finished the base colors.   Next art day begins shading.   Soooo scary!

In other news, and inspired by another awesome person's BuJo- , ie. MOON POWER, lol.   I've decided to keep ... ahem.   A boom boom log.    My tummy/gut just doesn't seem to be acting right lately.    So I am gonna keep track of just how NOT right it is.   Thankfully.   I will just use little ciphers to keep track of what's going on.  And also, noting what day of the cycle things are lining up with.   Also.  Today's little extracurricular activity could be a result of recently adding kombucha to my diet.   A friend informed me today, that 7oz a day to start, might have been a bit ... aggressive.

yNuVOGR.jpg

Next up is to work on my druid for Thursday, then get some time in on my game.    Then I think Transistor/ ESO and anime.

Ugh sorry about the knee, but it looks like with winds like that you had PLENTY of resistance during your walk, so that's awesome.  Monday was really windy here which drove me crazy with my hair (so happy I got it cut), so yeah also understand hair + wind annoyance too!!

SHADING!! WOO!!!  Have fun!  I love shading and you have improving so it's gonna be awesome to see progress!

Wednesday News:

Continued blue skies do wonders for the soul despite much going on.    I feel like I am somehow coming closer to a place of piece.   Of course, having made a final decision on the one front has taken a load of the anxiety away.   I just have to get through one more uncomfortable bit with it before I can move on more better.     And that uncomfortable bit will happen tonight at the arcade as I am meeting up with DB and will have to let him know where my thinking has taken me.

Knee thing is still ongoing.   Last week, the pain was across the front lower part of the knee cap.  That mostly went away, but now I have pain that is kind of behind the knee, more to the right side.    I decided that for now, I will put Stronglifts aside.    I am too much of a competitor, and I don't like to stall weights- so a program that says 'increase by 5' I will just, always increase.   I think in honesty, it went up too much too fast.    Past success has always been on a more homegrown program, so I know I am capable of it.   I also tend to follow the 'functional strength' bandwagon.    I like doing things that make me stronger for hockey and life in general, and that means much more body weight and single leg work.

Since I have done it before, I decided to go back to Nia Shanks 12 Week DB and BW Workout.   I used this program to rehab my shoulder and it brought me a long way.   The only thing I disliked about it was the weeks that went to 3 x 15!!  So I might just change it so the rotation is 5x6, 4x8, 3x10  (and if I can eek out extra reps on the 3rd workout, cool.)

Week 1, Workout 1

Reverse Lunges

8#/Hand - 1x6

10#/Hand -1x6

13#/Hand - 3x6

Push Ups

5 x 6 ** Regular, good form!

Inverted Row (Rings)

Height 39" - 5 x 6

Single Leg Glute Bridge (I hate these)

5 x 6/6

Reverse Crunch (AMRAP)

35 - 35 - 30   (100 total)

DB Lateral Raise

5#/Hand - 3 x 15

Pull Up Hold/Negative: 40"

Stretching 15 minutes, including foam rolling.     I foam rolled my calves today, and I think this has a direct correlation to the right knee twinge, because the right calf was excruciating and felt like a tennis ball was wedged in there, lol!

Work is actually being more well behaved than the past few days, so after finishing this up, I hope to get the final touches put on my new druid.   Once she is all done, I'll tell you guys a bit about her.   I'm also excited to start working on HER pic, and I think for this one, I will focus on torso up, with the face/expression being the thing I want to really sell the image.    I found a RL cosplayer picture that really catches the look/feel I am going for... now just to see if I can transpose that into some kinda anime/Puck-style version of it.

Half-elf  Druid, Circle of the Moon (Shape changer focus)

Really torn on names.     Ideas that I've narrowed down are:

Talynara (Tahlee-nar-ah)  Shortens to Tali (one of my favorite Mass Effect characters)

Lyoryn (Lee-or-rin)  Shortens to Rin (I have a few characters from anime/tv that have this name.)

Azarah (Ah-zar-ah)  Shortens to ... Az?  Which sounds like ass?  Least sure on this one.  :P

Damn right.  It's blue sky here too, and it's amazing.

Keep in mind that "adding weight" is not the only measure of improvement.  Doing one more rep or taking 10 seconds less rest between sets is also improvement.  On top of that, you could stick with the Stronglifts style, but drop the app.  For example: I just keep a word doc with my workouts in it.  Print it out, cut out that day's workout and throw it in my pocket.  When I feel like it's time to increase weight/reps, I edit the doc.  That all being said....

If you've had good results from this before, there's definitely precedent for sticking with it!

Can't wait to hear all about her!

You know where I stand on names.  For the last one (Azarah), I'd say, honestly, don't shorten it at all.  Insist (in-character) on using the full name.  Names are powerful and have deep seated meanings.  There could be all sorts of reasons the character doesn't like shortening her name.

Glad you're taking it easy with the knee.  Better safe than sorry.

Regarding names, I vote for Lyorin but I think Oramac has a great character quirk built in for you if you go with the last one.

I like Lyoryn, I think it feels right for the character as I picture her. I would probably naturally shorten it to Lee though. Looking forward to hearing about her anyway.

Also, Ezraldo's robes look badass by the way.
