WEEK 4 / DAY 6

 

Training 

 

Mobility: Yep

 

Workout: Bench felt weird, couldn't find my balance for some reason. Deadlifts on the other hand felt amazing :) 

 

** Flat Barbell Bench Press **

- 82.0 lbs x 2 reps
- 82.0 lbs x 2 reps
- 82.0 lbs x 2 reps
- 82.0 lbs x 2 reps
- 82.0 lbs x 2 reps
- 82.0 lbs x 2 reps

 

** Sumo Deadlift **

- 200.0 lbs x 3 reps
- 200.0 lbs x 3 reps
- 200.0 lbs x 3 reps
- 200.0 lbs x 6 reps [PR]

 

Do Your Damn Abs: Yep -- graduating from phase 1, just in time for the end of the challenge!

 

Cutting No cheat. Weight hasn't gone down, and looking back it actually hasn't moved in a while (cheat meal consequences aside) which makes me think I'm currently at maintenance, so moving on to Cut 3 next week.

 

Adulting

 

Do every day Yep

  • Do dishes (especially pan for breakfast the next morning)
  • Defrost next day dinner
  • Do Duolinguo German lesson
  • Do Duolinguo Spanish lesson
  • Read (either Supple Leopard or fiction)
  • Put clothes worn on the day away

Do every week 

  • Send bench form check video to my trainer
  • Clean one part of the apartment

Do by end of challenge

  • Pick up clothes
  • Find a home for all the crap on the counter / stools
  • Figure out HSA / insurance
  • Return Amazon order
  • Get missing carry-over vacation days corrected
  • Request payment for freelance work

 

Plate math woes

 

Three of us were deadlifting at the same time, and my gym only has two sets of round 45s -- both of which were being used.  I don't mind hex plates as long as I have round plates too, and I didn't want the math to be (more) complicated, so I ended up with this heresy:

WEEK 4 / DAY 7

 

Training Rest day!

 

Cutting mmmmmmmmmmmmmh can we just say I ended the challenge early? :D I had drinks followed by dinner with a friend.  Nothing crazy, a couple of G&Ts and some delicious Japanese food.  We then went to a house party where I stuck to water.

 

Adulting

 

Do every day No duolinguo and I forgot to wash my pan, but all the rest good

  • Do dishes (especially pan for breakfast the next morning)
  • Defrost next day dinner
  • Do Duolinguo German lesson
  • Do Duolinguo Spanish lesson
  • Read (either Supple Leopard or fiction)
  • Put clothes worn on the day away

Hey look the challenge is over and I'm still here :P This in itself is progress.

 

I'm too lazy to read through all my updates, but overall the challenge was a success.  I did all my abs and most (ish) of the cardio, kept off plan meals and alcohol to a minimum and did all the adult things.  On top of that, I finished two books and am halfway through a third one, and my apartment is the tidiest it's been in a while, which is really nice coming home from work and means I have more time to do nothing on the weekends!

 

I shall end the same way I started this challenge: with a platypus.
