"A good rest I hope?" he asked. He always smiled, and I was terrified of that. I always the idea that he was constantly scheming, aware and patient. Even when he scolded me he did it so calmly that I felt he had both the knowledge and the skills to kill me in a way that I would only know when I laid to rest that day. "I'm sorry Master, I should've been aware", I responded getting up. To this day I remember his words, no matter how many years pass by. He said "It is okay because I had not planned your demise. But I could have other plans". That stayed with me. It was a warning to be ever mindful. I boy that helped me. On that day he also told me that I had a mission. A new target. I was only to engage after fully studying my target. So... I prepared... and Packed... Sequence 1: Chase and Escape (+3 DEX;+2 STR) Same as before, Parkour training once a week. No excuses. Even though I am not fully healed, I have to at least move a bit. Some sequences, some small challenges, technical stuff. Since this didn't work before, this time let's give it an extra notch: I have to release a small video of my training session. Must be at least one minute.Pre-challenge challenge: Get an A5 notebook and call it: Parkour Spellbook and Visions (as inspired by the Tricking Spellbook) Sequence 2: Follow your Target (+2 WIS) Also, same as before, Track the food. Right now I just want to build up the habit of tracking my intakes. I'm not even going to freaking tailor my food after every week, let's keep it simple and JUST. TRACK IT. I've already set up alarms to remind me to track it on My Fitness Pal. Bonus: Take healthy snacks. Boiled eggs, protein bars, fruit, anything "healthy" goes. (+1 CON) Sequence 3: The Mentor teaches, the Apprentice listens (+2 WIS) Back to meditation as it is a practice that I am not keeping and I've proven to myself countless times that it is beneficial for me. Everyday I must meditate for at least 5 minutes. My alarm is set up to 23h (11 pm). Bonus: Do NOT use any technology after it, since it seems to be messing my sleep schedule and quality. (+1 CON) Sequence 4: A Friendly Competition (+2 STR) I'm going to try and embrace my Sith personality (although I consider myself more like a Grey Jedi) and use the Mini Challenge to do some daily callisthenics and try to out-work the other guild members. Not to be THE BEST, but to be BETTER.Sequence 5: Entertain the Crowd. (+2 CHA) I haven't played guitar in ages. And I miss it. So, for this challenge I'm going to consciously practice guitar every other day. I need to learn AT LEAST one segment of a song (intro, verse, chorus, etc) per practice session. Pre-challenge challenge: GET THOSE STRINGS. We've been told to bring the checklist for the next level test (all the things you need to know to do to "level up") to each class, and it really is quite helpful. Even though it's going to be hard to categorize the moves (parkour speaking, almost everything is a vault, and there is no level of difficulty per se) I am going to use it to link tricks and vaults, sketches of the spots, thoughts on training, basically a Parkour journal. Later on I am going to get my gear. Really, posting videos feels a bit weird at first, but it becomes more comfortable the more you do it. "Then maybe I should send another man for the job!" he said smiling. I did not get it. "What?!" "If you believe you have everything you need, you are not ready. I cannot be certain of anything. There are strange events that endanger your plans. Your target finds out about you. There are always things you are not prepared for. In fact, you should always assume you are not prepared!". I stared at him, open mouth. "why...but... argh! Fine. You are right Mentor. I was a fool. I believe I have most of the things needed.". So he sent me. There I went, with my parchments under my arm, my lute and the location of the Bureau in the city. And there I went. Unprepared, but confident. It's starting!! I managed to get my pre-challenges challenges done, and so now I can focus on the challenge. I didn't manage to train today, but we'll see what can be done. Tracked all of my meals: 50% carbs, 26% Fats and 24% Proteins. Learning the song Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I still can't play the intro at full speed, but I will get there.4 For the Mini did 6 one arm push ups and 5 Towel assisted One arm pull ups. Focused on my breath and sensations of the body. Ended up going to my "Mind Cave". Just got the room, still haven't decorated nor filled it up, however I visualized several boxes. Something tells me this is going to be a loooong process. Since today was a 5x5 day, I only managed to do 3 one handed push ups. No Guitar practice today, since I played yesterday. At first (3 minutes I think) I was just becoming aware of my body, the feel of the clothes and relaxing. Then I went to my "mind cave" and went to the room for the true mindful meditation. At first it was just random thoughts but then I kept remembering a quiz I did long ago for fun about which character from Cowboy Bebop I was. The result was Vicious, and the sentence I kept coming back to was "if society wants an alpha dog, you have no problem in becoming that alpha dog". After the meditation what I felt was that I have been passing around the idea that I am too relaxed and that I need to start dominating my field of action. So today I feel that I am much calmer than usual, quieter, but more focused. 3 one arm push ups (But Really happy about the form, tried to do it perfectly controlled and with perfect posture. and 5 towel assisted one arm pull ups. My score sucks in this Mini Challenge. Going to push harder on the next phase of the mini. Light guitar practice since time was getting short. You told me to wait for instructions but I did not wanted to wait for the news of the mentor of the Bureau to reach you. This has been an informative week. I see that you protected me more than you said. I was constantly told to mind my actions. I remembered you. The feeling I always got that you were doing things no one would know. I see now that you are teaching by example. But on to my mission: The target seems unaware that I have been following it. I though I had to run a few times, but each time I was proven wrong. I do feel this is making me loose my focus though. Is it weird to ask for confrontations and challenges? The mentor here and everyone is doing their best to teach me. I have been foolish enough to take the knowledge you were giving me for granted. Rest assured this will not repeat itself. The Bureau here also has an interesting system. Every Week there is an objetive to be attained, and if you do attain it you are given a score. The Mentor here told me it was a way to keep the senses sharp as well has promoting good fun. Even though I had not been so active, I will strive to compete. It seems quite an enjoyment. And speaking of enjoyment, the nights here are full. When we are not on the watch the living quarters are full with jokes and music. I like it. I have discovered a passion for pleasing the crowd that I did not have. I guess we truly cannot live without being in a society and alone. Thank you for showing this to me. Without further ado, Nothing is true, Everything is Permited. -LokesbrahWeek 1 Recap: Sequence 1: Chase and Escape (+3 DEX;+2 STR) No Parkour This week. I thought I could train today, but no Training Session happened. However, the same will not be said for tomorrow, when I am going to train in the afternoon. Hopefully I'll get some shots, make a small video (I hope I can get to 1 minute), as let you all know this is happening. Sequence 2: Follow your Target (+2 WIS) Tracked every meal except one. However very few snacks were made, and therefore if I still want to complete the bonus (3/4 to count) I'll have to invest for the rest of the challenge Sequence 3: The Mentor teaches, the Apprentice listens (+2 WIS) Meditated everyday except for two days. I enjoy my visual style of meditation, and the fact that I always go to my mind cave (yes, I have a cave, not a palace) is going to help me on the long run. I still have lots of unopened crates, for some reason, but I believe everything will set up nicely. Bonus quest is holding up though.Sequence 4: A Friendly Competition (+2 STR) This was a bit lacking, I did tried to workout everyday, but apparently is simply not enough. Let's get competitive, and try to beat my score everyday. So let's say that if on one day I get 1 points, on the next day I need to have more than 1 (so that would be 2.something on the sheet). I've been trying to figure it out the whole day and I still can't seem to understand why I saw/heard both of these. Maybe today's session will clear it up. Tracked most of my meals, but didn't ate that much snacks. So this is now something I'll strive to do but I can't reward myself the Bonus. This week was a bit off in the meditation thingy. But every time I did it I at least completed the bonus requirements and did not engage in any technology devices! And My sleep has indeed get better!! Missed a lot of the mini this week :'( But alas, a new week dawns upon us!! Practice was a bit off as well. Overall this week didn't went as good as the one before. As for sunday: No parkour Tracked 2 meals (skipped breakfast) no meditation :'( no mini engaged. light practice, just jamming a few chords and lines. Today: No Parkour (maybe tomorrow morning?) Tracked 2 meals, but dinner was not tracked because it was All you Can Eat Sushi and... well... I always eat too much xD Meditation is after posting! 8 Shrimp Squats and 4 One Arm PushUps. I don't feel like I can do much more today. I need to think about how to change my methods in order to be sure to go out and train. Tracked 2 meals, lunch and dinner. Yesterday's meditation was for 10 minutes, and ended up being more of being aware of my body than being aware of my thoughts. Yet, it felt relaxing and I enjoyed it. Today's "training" was 2x6 Shrimp Squats and 2x6 Toes to Bar. Meditation of 28th Feb, led to the realization that I need to contain myself. I can be way to extroverted at times, and that usually leads to me talking too much and get out of a certain situation badly. So I need to learn by the class and become more "Assassin"ish. I need to shut up more, and listen more. I need to have my own "secrets". Shrimp Squats 8|6 and One Arm PullUps (T,A.) 4|4 No music. Today: No Parkour Tracked all 3 meals (and snacks) Meditation of March the 1st led to realize that I don't have a strict code of conduct. I lack discipline of the Soul and the Mind.I am currently working on this and creating my code. So far the two values I hold are in line with the 9 Noble Virtues: Truth and Discipline. I'll see what else I find.
