Sunday: (wow, I'm actually here 2 days in a row!)

Workout was a trip into NYC with about 7 miles of walking. We did the MoMA and had tons of fun. It wasn't dry, but that's okay, the beer was delicious. (Can I post beer pics on a thread where a goal is to drink less? IDK, but I'm going to).

I promise, cross my heart, that I will do mobility and sweep the floor tonight, so I'm claiming those points now :P Last night (Saturday) I actually got up out of bed because I hadn't done my mobility and I had put it down as something I would do on this thread. The commitment is realz!

Week 1 wrap-up:

I'm pretty proud for how the week went, given it was my first week back to NF and to working out at all in 2017. I'm behind in points a bit. I want to be at 37.5/week (5.35/day), so thankfully I'm not too far behind. Week 2 is often my best week, so I'm ready to kick some ass! Though in the most important criteria, cute animal gifs/post, I'm falling way behind and I apologize for my failure. I hope you will accept this gift as an apology.

Thanks! They all were so tempting, but I thought they might be awful. Then my husband pointed out that they had a flight option and I was sold. He drank more of the nitro blood orange IPA than I did, I think he's hooked :)

Monday!

 

It was a super productive day, both work-wise (got lots of things done I've been staring at on my to-do list for a while) and life-wise! I got my adult thing done for the week (hitting that goal early) and booked my car an oil change for Thursday. I also did my check in here (twice actually) and stood an hour at work. At home I did my workout (exercise bike because I was feeling antsy), didn't drink anything (i've now gotten into the habit of drinking tonic water straight, mmm tasty), did my mobility routine plus wall angels, and swept the floor! I did break down today and watch youtube while getting ready/doing chores, so that's a point down, but still a productive day over all.

Math: 5+1+1+2+1+1+1-1=11

Total: 48

Tuesday:

I didn't get a chance to work out, partially because of time, and partially because I left my wireless ear buds at work and I can't stand working out with a cord anymore. But I got a lot of other stuff done, I stood probably 2 hours at work, did my mobility, swept the floor, didn't drink, and checked in here.  I also feel like I ate really well yesterday, delicious and healthy, which isn't a specific goal, but something I'm working on, so I'm feeling pretty good overall. Bonus is I think I'm back on track for points, as I should be at 53 today. (Though since I've already gotten my adult points for the week, I'll have to keep pushing)

Thanks! I'm working on staying positive and keeping on keeping on even on "failure" days :) NYC is always fun, especially because all the walking means I can justify all the yummy food!

Wednesday:

This was a fitness-y day! I had my weekly meeting with my boss and he spent a lot of it pacing. I said I'd would be up for a walking meeting for the last 15 minutes. He got very excited and said he'd take me to his favorite place to walk (after he asked me if my knees were strong/ok). Turns out that his favorite place to walk is up and down (and up and down...) is the 4 flights of stairs in the building. Sooo much cardio! 

 

At home I decided to put in some time on the exercise bike while dinner was in oven. And after dinner, I decided I hadn't done enough strength this week and did S&S. I had a really good stretch session after S&S and it has been far too long since I did that. I finished it up with my mobility. I also stood at work for a ton of time, and checked in here over lunch. 

 

Reviewing the beginning of the challenge I see that I haven't done any math yet, oops. This week/weekend I will fix that!

Total: 58

He's an intense person, but definitely into his fitness :) We were at a fancy dinner for an event and by the end he and the people he was chatting with were discussing workouts and was demonstrating the plank variations he knows.

He certainly kicked my ass in stair climbing abilities. I was very proud of my abilities to explain why we needed to get a new website host while climbing stairs.

I love them because I think so much better when I'm walking. But often we need access to email or papers and they don't work out, so I try to get them in when I can. Plus it's finally getting nice here and I take any chance I can to get outside!

Thursday:

Much less productive. I totally meant to workout and do mobility, but we binged the last two episodes of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, because you can't watch the penultimate episode and stop. I did sweep and stand and not drink though. And I checked in here! I had the oil change that I scheduled earlier in the week as my adult thing, so that 5 point thing was completed. 

Math: 1+1+1+1=4 

Total: 62

 

Friday:

I stood and swept and would have had my s&s done by now, but I realized my headphones needed to charge for a bit, so I came here first instead. I promise I'll workout and do mobility right after I post here/on other threads! 

Math: 1+1+2+1+1 =6

Total: 68

Reporting back for Friday, I did do S&S and mobility as promised, and some good stretching. I think I'm going to keep adding in the stretching when I can, but not make it a true challenge goal, just a mental goal. I've recently been in the mental space where I don't want to exercise, but once I start I want to keep going.

 

I timed how long it took me to do S&S   and it was just about 16 min. That's very exciting because it means I'm probably doing about the right timing to hit the S&S goals, even though I'm not at the weight. I can also use the time to trick myself into starting S&S, it always feels longer than that. I also did 4 TGUs with my 25lb instead of 2 last night and I don't feel dead today, so progress!

 

I'm so ready for the weekend, it's been a long week!

Saturday:

I had a great day! There was porch beer to celebrate the 70F weather, so it wasn't dry, but that's okay. I did S&S and did 40 35lb swings, instead of my usual 20 and it felt great! I also did my mobility and swept (and mopped!) the kitchen floor. I also checked in here.

Math: 2+1+1+1=5

Total: 73

 

Sunday:

I did S&S again, with the extra weight and it felt great! I think my body is getting used to the daily S&S again, which is awesome! I'm also checking in here, didn't drink, did my mobility and swept the floor. We went to a small town on the border and walked across the river to Pennsylvania and had another small town to explore, lots of fun and was lots of extra walking.

Total: 79

Thanks! My muscles are starting to realize that this is new weight is an everyday thing and they are beginning to protest the change :) I'm excited because once I get fully transitioned to these new weights, the next transition will be to the Simple goals!

Monday (part 1):

Checking in here over lunch because I'm not sure how my evening will shake out. I already did my S&S for the day, because I was actually thinking this morning (amazing for a Monday) and remembered I have a teleconference this evening and thus probably not have time to workout. I also have already gotten my hour of standing in. I'm feeling good and productive today (and not too hungry, unlike the past few days) I'm hoping it doesn't all fall apart this afternoon.
