Week 2 wrap up:

The week overall went really well, though I'm still a touch behind in points. I did a great job of checking in, primarily because I started doing it while I was eating lunch. That habit also helped with my workday, because it gave me a nice reset, so I think I'm going to keep it up. I also did a great job of working out a lot, and on my alcohol/food goals. I'm in that precarious point where I'm worried that I'm going to mess it up and fall back into bad habits. I think this is a symptom of an all or nothing (and/or perfectionist) mentality and I need to get better at allowing myself to mess up.

Monday (part 2)

Continuing from earlier, I didn't drink, I swept the floor, and did mobility!

Math: 4+1+1+1=7

Total: 86

 

Tuesday:

I again managed to work out in the morning. My tendons in my right elbow have lodged an official complaint about the new weight (I remember a similar complaint the last time I went up in weight) so today I had an easier day and went back to my standard weight. To keep up the challenge level, I went as fast as I could and strung multiple sets of swings together (40 in a row, a new pr for me, 20 each side) and completed the whole S&S in 11 minutes. My tendons still felt a little cranky today, so tomorrow may be a bike day. Calorie wise today was hard because I forgot my lunch (and it was a super tasty and healthy one, so I was sad to not have it) so I had to make due with the food trucks at work (starbucks and the "grease truck") I held myself to healthier choices (breakfast sandwich and a falafel pita). If it hadn't been for the challenge, I probably would have done some ridiculous sandwich with mozz sticks on top (their specialty) but I refrained. Since I didn't make it myself, my calorie estimates weren't great, but I think I stayed within my goal (though the sodium from pizza yesterday and that today may freak my system out, yay bloating!)

 

I also stood at work, and did my mobility. It wasn't dry, because we did a rosé with dinner (red snapper and roasted broccoli). I wish I had thought ahead and done something more mardi gras fun related, but oh well. My big win of the day was that I did an adult thing! I went in and got my 2017 parking pass for work, only 2 months late. (One of those months was because their systems weren't ready in Jan, and the other was because I changed classifications which messed up the system billing, but it's finally done!) I even had 2 whole days left on the grace period before they start to ticket, whoooo adult! ;) 

 

Math: 2+5+1+1+1=10

Total: 96

11 minutes on S and S that's impressive! Good idea to back offa bit if your tendons bother you. My elbow is one of the first things to complain too.Way to go on choosing the healthier lunch.

 

I need to make Jambalaya.  Had it in New Orleans and it was sooo good.

Ha ha I'm the same: "yay I'm doing really well" - "oh I just went backwards again".  Keep it up though - you're doing really well and just keep adding up those points :-)

Yeah, a few less than ideal things do not ruin all the other progress. :)

Thanks! I like to switch hands without pausing between sets of 10 swings, it makes me feel fancy and means I don't get to rest. It's strange, but it's my right elbow that's unhappy, even though that's my stronger arm.

 

I really want Jambalaya now, and po-boys, and all the tasty NOLA food!

Very true :) I'm working on switching up that mentality, I'm very good at "well now that it isn't perfect, it's over and I should just give up" which is not the right kind of self-talk.

Thanks :) I need to keep on reminding myself that the good stuff is still good, even if there is some bad stuff in there. 

 

Speed PRs are fun, especially when my elbow is being frustrating.

Wednesday quick check in:

I stood at work, swept, did mobility and didn't drink. I was feeling really weird all day and low on energy, so my workout was a short session on the bike (my elbow is still angry when I try to open doors), not a great workout, but I tried, so I'm counting it :)

 

Math: 1+1+1+1+2+1=7

Total: 103

(More relaxed) Thursday update:

 

Today was a very satisfying day. I was pretty productive at work (and stood a lot), despite (or maybe because of) several last minute meetings. My crazy eyeshadow was also complemented by several coworkers (including my supervisor, which I was slightly worried about) so I'm going to keep on having fun with it! It makes my mornings much more enjoyable when I have the time to do fun stuff.

 

I channeled the good vibes into my workout and kicked some ass at S&S! My elbow was feeling back to 100% after the break, and held up through my first 60 swings (my usual 20 at 25lbs, and 40 at 35lbs) so I decided to do another 20 at 35lbs! I decided that I had to kick more ass and did the same level up to 6 TGUs at 25lbs. Mobility and sweeping happened too :)

 

Math:1+2+1+1+1=6

Total: 109

Thanks! Unfortunately I already took it off for the night. It was hot pink with blue glitter on the inner corner, lavender with gold glitter in the middle, and then grey with pink glitter on the outside edge. Next time I promise there will be pics :)

Friday:

I stood at work and was planning on working out at home, but my husband was super bummed out because he had to turn down a job that he kinda wanted, so I spent time with him instead (lots of 30 rock watching, including the best moment ever)

I'm starting to think that I'm not eating enough. I have been getting super tired in the afternoon and as soon as I eat dinner, I get much more energy. People at work even commented on how exhausted I looked at the end of the day. I haven't been eating back any exercise calories and I may start doing an extra 100 cal or so on days when I exercise. Or maybe just throw in some night cheese :P

 

I also didn't drink, swept, and did mobility and came here and checked in with eyeshadow photos :)

Total: 114

Why thank you :) I learned by watching a lot of youtube videos and reading about how other people do the looks. A few years ago I went slightly crazy and bought a ton of loose pigment eyeshadows from assorted tiny companies and I realized that I needed to learn how to use them. I think it's only in the past few months I've figured it out. It's all about the right base and patting, not blending normally is what I've found so far :)
