First challenge as a Druid, but definitely not the last!

Recommended Posts

I'm pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone on this challenge which makes me pretty excited. Last challenge I was very broad with my expectations, but this time I'm being specific. The more details the less room for error right? :)

Focus 1: Mind

Meditate for 5 minutes every day. Take time to enjoy the quiet and the stillness.

Focus 2: Body

Fitness: Practice Yoga for 15 minutes every Tuesday and Thursday (non-class days) and attend EVERY class Monday, Wednesday and Friday NO EXCUSES

Food: No snacks after dinner. This is where I ALWAYS trip myself up. I will have an awesome day, but then binge late at night and ruin my progress.

Focus 3: Soul

Write in my gratitude and prayer journal each day. Even if it's just a sentence or two take time to reflect on the things and people that bless my life

I'm excited for this next step in my journey and I look forward to walking it out among you new friends.

Hey PrincessGlam!

This is my first 4week challenges as a Druid as well!  I love how you have y our focuses laid out!

When I'm really in the mood for snacking, I try to make sure I have a slightly bigger dinner with more protein and more veggies which helps curb my absolute need for snacking.  I make sure I drink a ton of water around that time which helps as well.

The other thing I do is I try to keep all snacks out my line of sight.  It really helps me because when I see a snack I then really really want it.   Also, sometimes when I'm looking around my house for snacks, I'll work towards being mindful about what I'm doin.,  I tend to say out loud "No I do not want a snack. I am full" And sometimes that also helps.

That's not to say there are not days where I don't snack, but they've become less frequently, and if I'm snacking it's normally because I haven't hit my macros that day and I'm missing out on some nutrition.

What kind of things are you doing to help have no more snacks after dinner?

Additionally, how is your challenge going so far?

Thanks so much for the suggestions and for checking in with me! My plans have been successful so far, so I think being specific was really helpful this time around. My plan for no snacks after dinner must be working pretty well since I don't even find myself craving those munchies as much.

My battle plan: We have an upstairs loft, so after my four year old is bathed and ready for bed we go up there to play/relax for the evening instead of in the living room right off the kitchen. I make sure to take my cup of decaf coffee and lots of water with me to avoid the temptation. I also enlisted my husband as backup since he would often be involved in my nightly snacking debacles; he gets me more water if I run out so I don't have to face the fridge (Building resilience :):)

The challenge is off to a really good start for me. I'm thankful to have found exercise I enjoy and look forward to my yoga practice every day. Working out is no longer a chore it is a treat to my body and my soul. How is this challenge for you?

That's awesome!!!  I'm so glad to hear that your challenge is going well!!!  Mine has also been going really well!  For my overall strength challenge, I've been doing a great job!  I'm hoping that over the weekend I continue to do as well!  I have some friends coming into town, so I'm going to make sure to plan out my days a little more closely so I don't go overboard with food.   But I think it will go well, and it will be a good challenge to remind myself to check in with myself a bit more to make sure I'm sticking with what I want to do!

So far I have succeeded in not eating past 7 all but ONE night (wow that's basically a miracle for me!) and going to my Yoga classes/ practicing independently each day! Woo-hoo :) However... I have not been very still, in fact I think I've been busier because I have a lot more energy from practicing Yoga so faithfully. This week I'm going to refocus in that area again and try to bring the stillness of Yoga class into my work and home life.

Sounds like your are excelling with your goals! I know I'm trying to get into yoga. Do you have any advice for a complete beginner? Bravo too on not overeating in the evenings. I know that is my own downfall as well! Keep up the great work!
