I am sick so this is a super rough draft of this until I am feeling less like death. DAMN YOU IMMUNE SYSTEM AND STUPID SINUSES!

 

Going for something like:

 

Goals:

 

GOAL 1- STRENGTH

Strength training at least 3x per week! this can be bodyweight training, aerial, or lifting. OPTIONS, YO. (Want to get in pull work, push work, core work, and SQUATS because I have been neglecting squats and push lately since I no longer work with a powerlifting trainer who makes me do this stuff. And I actually LIKE push ups, so that should be easy to make myself do?)

 

GOAL 2 - RUNNING

Running 1x per week! Assuming this rain-pocalypse chills the F out this should be easily do-able. (Would like to ramp this up to 2X per week eventually but lets start small, yo!)

 

GOAL 3 - MACROS

Track macros on weekdays for duration of challenge!  I am trying to dial this in for a bit again to make sure I am getting enough of the right things. I am chronically under on overall calories and lately I have been craving pasta like OMG PASTA. Once I started tracking a bit and eating more protein that seemed to help a bit. (Although also I think getting some damn SUNLIGHT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD would be helpful. I actually ordered a light therapy lamp so I can give myself some artificial sun time when we don't get sun because WTF CA we have had days upon days with no direct sun and it's seriously effecting my mood. I looked into it and SAD can actually cause weird shifts in dietary cravings as well, particularly a crazed desire for carbs, on top of the emotional shit sooo strongly suspecting I has this but it has literally never come up before because I live somewhere that is obnoxiously sunny 90% of the time... USUALLY!)

 

Life Goal: GET SHIT DONE!

I have a huge list of stuff to get done (which is in progress to add here!) Goal is to get ONE of these things on my list done per week.

 

LIST OF LISTYNESS:

 

Gather 1 bag of stuffed animals or clothes for donations or to trash because no one wants it (depending on the stuff!)  I gathered 3 total! Yay!

Move a box of books into the closet.

Disassemble your old desk.

Trash/Get rid of old desk.

Move air conditioner to correct spot once desk is gone.

Set up new air conditioner once moved.

Move furniture around in more useful configuration. (Even moving one thing or like, coming up with some schemes will count for this.)

Come up with better way to organize clothes and make things more accessible (this will also be a big process.)

Deal with water-bottle graveyard in my car -- partially!

Reseal leaking window on the studio appt

DO TAXES/ Do house finances/rental income info spreadsheet for me and brother

 

Anywho, LETS DO DIS!!

Still busily plaguing along. BLEGH. But in my boredom from being stuck home sick yesterday I did gather up a few bags o stuff to donate (and I made sure to wash hands and not breath on the things I was putting in the bags I promise!)  I also did some more hanging knee raises which I realize are now kind of easy for me? The only limiting thing is me WAY not being used to hanging from bars anymore and my hands get SO ANGRY.

 

I am supposed to aerial tonight but I feel gross and cough-y still. UGH. Going to steam myself with a hot shower before hand and maaaybe I can make it through? Given that I am planning to head home early I probably should just skip class but I have to miss next week :(:(:( so I don't want to miss this week. WAAAAAH

Also, challenge update:

 

I was a good plague-y coughy sad person and did not go to aerial last night. SAAADS. But for the best.

 

The boyfriend and I hung out which was sort of pathetic since I was coughing all over the place. We watched the Rock and he sat a bit away from me/immediate coughing zone and tried to make sure I didn't cough to death. Not as cuddly as I would like for a date night but heeeey we made it work? Lololol.

Update:  my lungs still hate me! 

 

Yesterday I coughed barely any at all and had OK energy and... then I tried to sleep. Emphasis on tried. ALL THE COUGHING. It's like all of sudden my lungs decided they had hoards of phlegm they needed to get rid of (so cough suppressant was useless because that only helps with dry useless coughs.) UGHHHHHHH. Repeatedly being startled awake because you need to have a coughing fit is SO F-ING ANNOYING OMG GRR!

Ahhhh, impending flood-pocalypse is due tomorrow. I work with climate scientists and they are all pretty much unanimously: "you are a commuter DO NOT COME IN TOMORROW." Sooo yeah. (Last time we had a storm this crazy was in '95 apparently and it flooded a bunch of places and ended up closing campus.)

 

I 1) don't want to get stuck in flood water, and 2) do not want to get stuck up HERE instead of at home if I am going to get stuck somewhere. And yeah I have never seen our faculty actually this concerned about a storm before sooo yeah. If the climate scientists are freaked I am inclined to listen to them!

it's good to have reputable sources to listen to re: flooding conditions though!

 

do you have a humidifier? it helps me SO MUCH with coughs, even the super phlegmy ones.

(Which we really need to get the roof repaired and or replaced but with the constant rain it's not really doable right now. So frustrating!)

This is SO MUCH RAIN for us. It's been weird after 5 years of almost no rain! We weren't anticipating needing roof work any time soon sooooo the $$$ end is sort of stressful but hopefully we can find somewhere that does financing or something. Ugh homeowner problems.

That's one way to look for the silver lining. I've been alternating between running the humidifier to combat a dry/sore throat, and then feeling icky because it's humid and gross and sweaty and yuck. Hope everything's okay, and you're starting to feel better (and are still safe!).

Rainpocalypse was intense but I am safe! I stayed home on Friday and it sounds like at least one half of the freeway did end up with a mudslide sooo good call! (Not to mention that rain was crazy and driving in it would have been scary anyway!!!!!)

 

I am allllmooost feeling better but the cough is still lingering so I am doing all exercise-y things at home only so not as to go cough on things at the gym or at the aerial gym. BLEGH. WANTS TO PLAY ON SILKS, but yeah...not until I stop having random coughing fits I can't predict because coughing fit in air = I cough all over your silks >.<

 

So far meeting all my goal stuff for this week except running because yeah sick + rainpocalypse once I was feeling slightly better. Next week! (Assuming it stops raining enough to do it!...I guess I could consider using the dreadmill at the gym...but UGHHHH.)

WEEK 1 WRAP UP!!!

Goal 1: STRENGTH  - 3 out of 3 per week  YEP! This was all at home bodyweight stuff. ALL THE HANGING. I did lots and lots of core stuff (it's helpful that the mini encouraged me to go hanging knee/leg raise crazy this week. ABS OF DOOOOM or something.)

 

Goal 2: RUNNING -  0 out of 1 per week -  Nooooope. Because plague. But next week this will happen!

 

GOAL 3: MACROS- Tracked macros on weekdays?  Mostly yes? Early in the week when I felt like coughy UGH I did not really do this but I did try feebly to sort of do it which is pretty good for being sick and not wanting to do anything useful!

 

GOAL 4/ Life Goal- GET STUFF DONE - 2 out of 1 per week YEP! I actually gathered 2 bags of stuff for donating! Go me! I would have done more but PLAGUE ARGH. Another one not on the list but could be-- I figured out a small organization upgrade for some of my makeup (lightbulb moment to store my foundation base baggies + the spoon for measuring them in one of the cute colored zip pouches I have from my brief subscription to Ipsy. I haven't wanted to toss them because they are pretty but..like..WTF to do with them yo. Well the plastic baggie storing all my foundation bases was actually falling apart and then I saw pretty ipsy bag and DUH YOU GUYS. Sustainable storage solution--check!)

Soooo I have my CT scan of my sinuses scheduled for today which he wanted me to do once I'm feeling better...and naturally I have pretty bad sinus pain today... UGH. Like..I feel like I should have rescheduled? But I can't predict when I am going to have bad sinus shit? And it's most of the time these days anyway thus why I am going to the ENT to see about surgery. ARGH. Ah well. We shall see how this goes!
