Like your "bro" bench session?  Only one plate on the bar...

I was sharing with two other guys of varying strength levels so it had to be approachable for everyone.

And 10 reps of 135# after 7rds/20 minutes sure starts to feel heavy, man!

That's exactly it.  And thank you!  That's exactly the kind of advice I needed. :) I can't wait to get back to a weight day so I can do this.

Thank you!

I was thinking about this. The past 2 NF articles have featured Dumbbell RDLs. :) If you haven't read through them, they would be GREAT articles for you to read. Particularly the "how to gym" one.

General reminder to all, this is not a competition. If you'd like to, knock yourselves out but for the newbies watching it's ok to not be the best :)

This goes for pretty much every mini-challenge. We want them to be accessible to everyone, challenging for the advanced lifters, and something everyone learns something from. It's a hard balance to strike. The biggest things we want to encourage are community participation/bonding and learning something about yourself or lifting.

This was EXACTLY how I was thinking throughout the whole thing. If I could have figured out how to speed my video up I would have posted the full version including me looking at the timer at the top of my video going, "oh for fucks sake I can only rest for 10 seconds". Plus my breathing was much worse than yours in between! Congrats on 41 BW deadlifts, I am "lucky" that my BW is much more so my reps were at more like ~60% BW. I would have died much earlier at BW :)

Haha thanks. It was definitely brutal. I didn't realize it was bodyweight until after the fact, and then I was really pleased with being able to do 41 deadlifts at bodyweight haha

2x BW here I come!

Dude,  Is it just me or are you really not lifting straight up when you did these?  Looks like a lot of the reps you leaned to (your) left and a couple to the right.

The right side of my back is the side I have the injury history on. I'm guessing that fatigued faster than the other side, causing the initial leaning. The leaning then caused the bar to hit on one side first, which was throwing me all out of whack since I was doing it with bumpers and that side would bounce a bit with the touch and go. I noticed it at one point and started trying to correct it.

I had the same question.

A whole lot of ouch lol basically it's what it sounds like, you load up with BBs, start at one end of the turf/track/room/whatever, and every time you take a step you do a split stance one or two legged RDL. For distance... Foreveerrrrrrr...

(I feel like this kid got begrudgingly picked out of training to make this video :P)

Ok, as long as you recognize that you're doing it.  Watching it set off a bunch of alarms and red flags in my head.

Doing crap for time leads to some form slippage, gonna happen and is fine within reason. Just gotta be smart with it.

He is certainly a polarizing person in the weightlifting world. For those who dont know, he had major beef with USAW and then got 2 year ban for ducking drug testing while in parallel created his own federation which he says is the reason he wasn't doing testing for USAW. But he really rubbed people the wrong way for slamming the barbells after lifts and being really "in your face". Then in like October he went into cardiac arrest and saw "life beyond death" and has a blog about post death spirituality now. Strange turn of events but he is/was a solid weighlifter(who may have been on PEDs)
