I know it would help to have someone who does understand the children of geeks or who maybe Geeks teaching them. Especially since most PE teachers don't. I think the kids would be lucky to have you. As a parent, how would you feel about your child having access to the forums and having access to his teacher's posts, as well? That's my only hesitation is giving my students a "social network" on which I also participate. Obviously all of my posts are health/fitness related, but I still wonder if some parents might think, "Ummmm..." That I would be more cautious about, but mostly since our family doesn't do social network to begin with. However, I know my eldest's (jr high) PE teachers have their own "google classroom" setups which have discussion boards and things. Maybe you could (with nerd fitness's approval obviously) set something up that is a bit more "contained" and use some of the things you have learned here and what not and make it more grade level specific. You could still maybe talk about classes and small changes and give them a discussion board they could posts their in and out of class successes on. I think part of it will be what will nerd fitness allow and what tools you have at hand. You could also give them the info to the nerd fitness website (let them find the forums on their own) if they are interested. And it may depend on what the district you are working in has as a policy regarding Student-Teacher online behavior (aka, would the school district be okay with you doing it.). But that is my 2 cents. Honestly, My eldest has talked of "leveling" since he was little (aka "look, I got a sharp knife to cut with, my knife skills are level 4.") and its a metaphor we still use sometimes about him reaching certain milestones or points in his life. 1 Quote You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream - C.S.
