Last month was a month of doing stuff. This month is the same. Some of the goals have changed, but the overall goal remains - to do all of the things in true Ranger style. Should I exceed any of my goals each week, I will be putting £5 into a savings jar per goal exceeded. At the end of the month, I'll use the money to treat myself to something on my Amazon Wish List.

Join with me as I sail the 4 Cs with regular stops along the Exercise Islands.

Goals:

1. Crochet. Last month my goal was to crochet 3 squares OR sew one row onto the blanket I'm making my son per week. This goal has not changed. By the end of this challenge I should have at least 1.5 rows worth of squares crocheted and 1 row sewed onto the blanket. I will be grading this goal by keeping track of how many squares/rows I get done throughout the week.

Squares: 0/3

2. Cook. This is a new goal, but one that I believe I mentioned either on my challenge or someone else's challenge last month. My goal is to clean out the food shelves, fridge, and freezer by cooking one meal each day that I'm home. I will only buy food that is needed to use the food that we already have. For example, if I have a BBQ pulled pork spice pack, then I can buy some pork. The reason I'm doing this is because we have loads of frozen food, sauce packs, tinned food, etc that's been sitting on various shelves for well over a year and they need to be eaten before they go off.

My version of the NFA eating plan is going to take a hit this month, but that's ok. Once all of this food is gone, I can start the second part of my plan and start stocking up on stuff that does fit with my eating plan.

I'll be tracking this goal by sharing photos of what I cook over on my FB page and will link to the photos here (though you're welcome to add me or follow me over there, if you like).

3. Clean. Because I spend most of my time during the day job hunting, taking my Android Basics course, and taking care of my son's needs, T is meant to do the majority of the housework. However, he has a bad habit of not seeing when something needs to be done (example, he left the dishes piling up for nearly 3 days because we still had clean dishes, so he didn't notice the dirty ones in the sink). So to help him out, I'm going to clean one room from top to bottom each week.

Week 0: Living Room

Week 1: Kitchen

Week 2: Paul's room

Week 3: The Master Bedroom

Week 4: My Bedroom

funny-wine-quotes-cleaning-my-house.jpg

4. Class. My Android Basics programming course is nearly done, but that doesn't mean I can slack off. My goal is to get through the rest of my course by the end of this challenge month.

(Weekly goals may be changed depending on how well I did the week before)

Week 0: Complete at least half of Lesson 3B

Week 1: Complete Lesson 3B

Week 2: Design final project

Week 3: Final project finished and posted in class forums

Week 4: Fix any problems noticed by other students and mentors

Untitled+spinoff+of+cyanide+and+happines

5. Exercise.  Welcome to exercise isles! Each week, we'll have a different goal to complete.

Week 0: Go Geocaching. Last week I tried Geocaching for the first time. It was so much fun that I decided to make it a part of this month's challenge. My goal is to find 5 caches this week. To get to their location, I'll either walk or cycle.

Week 1: Go on a Virtual Walk. I will choose one race from yes.fit and walk the entire thing this week.

Week 2: Go on a Virtual Cycle. Same as above, except instead of walking, I will cycle the entire distance.

Week 3: Do NFA Bodyweight  workouts 4A, 4B, and 4C at least once (each) this week.

Week 4: Battle NFA Bodyweight Level 4 Boss. Counts as exceeded goal if boss is defeated.

Wait, exercise doesn't begin with "c" *checks challenge title, counts*. Never mind, carry on.

The challenge was originally going to be "Sails the 7 Cs", but I couldn't come up with 7 things that started with the letter C, so I did 4 instead with Exercise as "islands" because I didn't want to leave physical fitness out. ;)

T and I are now off to Leeds centre to get the rest of the ingredients that I need to make this week's food.

I've also been working on using things up in the pantry and freezer. It's kind of fun....like a little puzzle.

This week is "use up all the sauce packets". I tend to collect the things because only P and I will eat them and T does most of the cooking which means they never get used.

========

Planned food menu for this week:

Today: Grab something out of the freezer

Tuesday: BBQ pulled pork for me and P, roast pork for T and Paul

Wednesday: Jerk Chicken for me and P, roast chicken for T and Paul

Thursday: Cheesy Pasta for me and P, whatever T and Paul wants.

Friday: Coconut Chicken Curry (or if there's leftover pork from Tuesday, I'll use that), pan

Saturday: BBQ Beef steaks for me and P, pan fried steaks for T and Paul

Sunday: Cheesy Pasta for me and P, whatever T and Paul wants.

Fun challenge. I like how every week you have another exercise challenge

Some of the weeks might bleed into each other a bit. Like this week, for example, I'm doing both geocaching and a virtual race just to iron out any bugs/problems I might have with the virtual race tech. And I might do some geocaching during the virtual race/cycle weeks, if there are any on the route that I take.

Week 0, Day 2

1. Crochet.

08872cce624d6286039721a792b045e7.jpg

I've been busy all day with other things, so I haven't done anything here yet, but the night isn't over yet!

Squares: 0/3

2. Cook.

T and I went into town today to get all of the meat needed for this week. As I mentioned above, this week is "use up all the sauce packets" week. As the week progresses, I'll also be using up some rice, pasta, tinned food, and frozen food. P doesn't understand why I'm wanting to use up all the food in the freezer and cupboards as "that's why we have a freezer and cupboards - to store food in", but hopefully he'll realise that it's a good thing once the freezer and cupboards have been emptied, cleaned, and refilled.

Supper was a very simple meal of sausages, chips, and baked beans. T won't eat 90% of what I will, so when it's just him, me, and Paul, it's  easier to just grab something out of the freezer and fix that. I didn't take a photo, but it looked pretty much like this:

3. Clean.

a1ad355b81eeb75d74630124e4ec2105.jpg

As I said this morning, I tidied my desk today. It had gotten so bad that I couldn't see the top of it. It looks better now (see the photo in my post above). Tomorrow I'll go around the room, throwing away trash and moving things that don't belong in the living room to their proper homes.

4. Class.

935da22caf2096ffafd1499289912fca.jpg

I've made a good start to getting Lesson 3B done this week. Even though T and I went into Leeds this morning I still got through half a dozen sublessons today and learned such things as how to put check boxes into an app.

Sublessons: 6/29.

Exercise Isle.

diet-ecard-exercise-funny-Favim.com-5210

Originally, my plan was to find an easy cache in Leeds City centre to find while we were there, but the geocache website decided to give me a 500 error when I tried to log in, so I wasn't able to do any geocaching today. I'll make up for it another day this week by doing two in one day. There are a few which are pretty close to each other, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

I've also decided to do a trial virtual race this week so that I can iron out any problems with the website app and my fitbit. According to my Fitbit, I walked 2.5 miles today. I've just synced it with the app, so hopefully it will show up on the yes.fit site by morning (It seems to sync at midnight each night). If not, I'm going to have to input my walks manually, which means providing proof in the form of screen shots, which will be a bit annoying.

Caches found: 0/5

Following! Loving the challenge goals so far! Sail those Cs!

I've never tried geocaching. I've heard it's fun... no idea. I did Pokemon Go instead, LOL! Too bad there aren't more places to walk around near me that are "safe". I don't live in a good part of town.

Looking forward to seeing your food porn and watching you obtain your goals!

Geocaching is loads of fun. But then, so is PG :) I tried PG but could never get the app working right on my iPad, so I did Ingress instead for a bit. Got bored of it after a couple of months though.

Week 0, Day 3

Today was a busy day. I did all of the things, and then some.

1. Crochet.

29126332746_8a20780dd1.jpg

I watched Witches of East End, Touch, and Mock the Week last night and completed one square. Two more to go!

Squares: 1/3

2. Cook.

Tonight I fixed slow cooked BBQ Pulled Pork. The sauce was powdered packet stuff, but it came out really good. The potatoes and carrots were drizzled lightly with vegetable oil and sprinkled with salt and mixed herbs, and cooked for about 30 minutes at 180C.

Spoiler

3. Clean.

Between doing everything else today, I didn't have much time to do housework, but I still did what I said I was going to do. I went around the Living Room and picked up all the trash, threw it away, and then picked up all the things that were lying around and put them where they belong. Tomorrow I'm going to dust the surfaces and empty the bins.

4. Class.

346e887312833cc8ca4fdc7263ea5c59.jpg

Today's lessons were about adding editable text and if/else statements. Two more sub lessons and I'll be half way through Lesson 3B; I'm going to keep going though.

Sub Lessons: 12/29

5. Exercise Isle

Spoiler

I walked about 2.4 miles geocaching today and found two caches, which were less than 300 yards from each other. That brings my total up to 2 for the week, which is where I should be. :) Also tonight, I went to the Tuesday night Circuit Training class. It's been like over a month since I've been and it nearly killed me. x_x But, I feel good for going! :)

Following along :D

Geocaching last week just made me realise how much I miss my geocaching friend. She loves it, and every time I got to visit we end up on some far flung adventure looking for a cache or three. I'd never tried it alone until now, and it's nowhere near as much fun.

I prefer doing it on my own, but then the only person I've geocached with is T and he isn't patient enough to wait while I take photos of the cache and surrounding views. If I found someone to go with who didn't mind me taking lots of photos, then I would probably enjoy it more. :)

I opened up a new packet of coffee this morning. It's called Mocha Djimmah and tastes just like a Mocha coffee, but without any chocolate! Absolute heaven and none of the calories.

I LOVE taking pictures. It's frustrating to go out with people when I just want to take a bunch of pictures. They get bored and impatient. I tell someone I'm going out to go take pictures... they ask to come along. I warn them that they might get bored. They insist. They come along and seem to think that I'm doing just point and shoot with my phone. Nope! I have a digital SLR that I like to try and find the perfect shot. It's frustrating sometimes. lol

I know it's not exactly the same as what you are talking about here, but I get the thing about friends being impatient about photos.
