Hmm are you eating enough?

Sometimes too little, sometimes too much :P  I really need to focus on getting substantial meals.

Getting enough rest?

I'm getting my 9 hours a night plus some naps. So yes, I think so ;)

Is selling the apartment giving you stress?

Definitely. I'm hoping we'll put this behind us soon.

Week 2, day 2

The stardust has settled a bit ;) I was not as tired as the days before. Freggies for the win! :D

Quest 1: 3 meals a day, no snacking

Close. SH had the day off and took me to the city to get a cup of tea with a piece of pie <3

Otherwise the day was perfect. I started with a green thicky and had a salad for lunch.

Quest 2: Work on my business

Yes :) I worked a few hours on an order and did two mistery visits.

And to make today even better: it ended in a zumba class :D Time flew by way too quickly ;)

So sorry to hear about your house sale falling through.  Any news on that?

As I understand it, there is moister in the walls which can be risky for the wooden foundation that lies in the walls. That's what scared him off.

I'm now contacting people that can fix this, so hopefully someone else will buy it.

We are participating in the open house route where people can come look at your house without making an appointment. That's next Saturday.

I'm pretty overwhelmed right now with everything that needs to be done, but I'm trying to take it one step at the time.

I'm curious how this moisture in the walls was detected.  It would be fairly uncommon to have that as a problem, and even more uncommon for a typical home inspector to find it on a pre-sale inspection here in the U.S.

Best of luck to you, Terah.

He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of

you but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

I'm not schooled in construction stuff, let alone translate the stuff I do know to English :P

The wall soaked up the moister from the air outside and the rain. It caused the stucco(?) on the inside wall to crack. The inspector said the white stuff between the stones (google translate calls it 'joints', but I don't think it's called that) wasn't so great anymore either, letting the water get through. As I understand it this is a common problem in older homes (ours was build around 1930).

Thanks. This whole moving thing is starting to cost us more and more money...

I see, and that makes sense.  You did a fine job explaining. :)

The inside wall is probably covered with plaster (as opposed to stucco, which is a little different).  The white stuff between the stones is likely "mortar" which fills the joint and stabilizes the stones.  If that's not intact then it will definitely let moisture migrate in to the outer wall.  Mortar replacement isn't terribly difficult, so it should be an easy repair.  That's not to say it will be cheap, though. :(  Plaster repairs should be fairly straightforward, too.  I hope you're able to get it all squared away in a timely fashion.

Moving is definitely a pain in the butt.  No matter what I end up spending, I'm always glad when it's done.

The problem with the stucco (yes it's stucco, I checked google :P ) is that when you replace it on a little part of the wall, you should do the entire wall or you'll have color differences, Yes, the white stuff is mortar! (The first thing google told me that it was some kind of gun ;), but it's also the white stuff.) I hope it will be an easy job. The hardest part will be to find someone that will do a good job and not rip us off. There are a lot of bad handyman (moonlighters?) around unfortunately.

I will be so relieved when we're done! :D

Week 2, day 3 and 4

That whole moving thing is causing me lots of stress. Besides that: both boys are having a cold and I'm not feeling too hot myself. It's been hard to keep up with my goals, but I'm still trying.

Food

There have been a few mishaps, but I won't let that get me down. My problems can't be solved with food, I need to keep that in mind.

Work

I've been working hard on making orders, answering mails and keeping an eye out for job openings. It looks like things are getting more and more expensive with the moving, so I'm really going to need a job. Unfortunately there are a lot of teenagers that can do the same work for less money :( And lot's of companies are looking for full timers, and as important as money is, I feel it's more important to be there for my boys. Besides: childcare is really expensive. I would save more money being home with the boys than I would make working during that time.

Week 2, day 5

I woke up sick last night. I haven't been able to keep food or water down all day.

I'm starting to feel a little better now and even eaten some ontbijtkoek (low fat pound cake stuff with lots of cinnamon) and drank a few sips, but I still feel weak.

And I am craving all things cinnamon, no idea why. Fruit an veggies upset my stomach, but anything with cinnamon in it is okay :D

I'm going to take it easy tomorrow and kick all the butts again on Monday :)

Thanks guys <3 I am feeling better. Not there yet, but well enough to get stuff done.

Week 3, day 1 and 2

I'm still not feeling 100%, so I'm taking this week off from my goals and just focus on eating healthy. My stomach keeps protesting when I try to eat normal portions, so I often leave half of my meal, with the result that I'm terribly hungry hours before it's time to eat again. So in stead of forcing three bigger meals, I'll listen to my body and eat smaller, more frequent meals when I'm hungry.

I had my work and chores all planned out for this week and next, and I got really behind because of getting sick. So I'm making a new plan and I'll do my best to get as much work done as I can.

When you're a mom and own a business you really can't get sick, can you? I've been working hard on getting things back on track the last few days and on regaining my energy. But I believe I'm ready to continue this challenge now :D

bitmoji-2141800146.png

With one week left in the challenge I will pick things back up. But since the 3 meals a day goal clearly is not working for me I'm going to change my goals for this last week:

Quest 1: Breathe

Breathe deep before, during and after I eat something. This way I will eat relaxed and I will eat slower.

Quest 2: Work

Okay, this one stays the same: work on my business daily.

Focussing in breathing made me realise how often I hold my breath. It also made me more relaxed throughout the day.

And for my second quest I spend some time behind the sowing machine.

It's good to havea successful day again :)

Week 3, day 7. Week 4, day 1 and 2

Full blown shark attack happened. No work on Sunday, but Monday and Tuesday where right on track.

And after applying to a lot of boring meaningless jobs I came across a facebook add that gave me an idea: I'm becoming a Virtual Assistant! Basically small business owners can hire me for a few hours a week to answer e-mails, talk to customers, create work flows, do administrative work etc. This way I can actually do things that require thinking on the level I've been trained for AND I can work when the boys are at school or in bed :D

I started on building a website today. It's not done yet, but you can take a look if you want.

And I got a phone call to make an appointment for a job interview today. It's for assembling orders for a large clothing company. It's on Saturdays, so that is perfect because SH will always be home for the boys. And the work, ah well, it's not for forever and it gives us that little extra money we need. The interview is on Thursday.
