doctorake Posted March 13, 2017 Report Share Posted March 13, 2017 So in my last challenge I noticed some interesting things about my habits. I have noticed whenever I over eat or drink, I do the other one. So if I would have a bad lunch at work, it was followed by drinking in the evening, or if I had a drink in the evening I would eat some shitty food and miss my calorie goals. It seems like I have a defeatist attitude for the day as soon as I mess one thing up. Now that I have identified this I am going to hopefully correct it. For this challenge I am going to attempt to continue to eat properly(2,000 calories and < 100 grams of carbs), really cut out drinking(I can think of one event this challenge where I will drink), and focus on having productive days. If I mess up at lunch or during the day, I need to suck it up and continue down doing what I need to do. Each day I will post what I did that day, what I am doing tomorrow, and what roadblocks/problems I had. I have that same problem, doctorake... when I eat poorly at lunch I'm like, "well I already failed... might as well fail big. Go big or go home." It's a mentality that's hard to get out of. doctorake Posted March 14, 2017 Author Report Share Posted March 14, 2017 3/14 What am I doing today? Working a 5 hour day due to snowstorm. I actually have off from swimming and lifting today on my schedule since I have a playoff hockey game in goal tonight. Looks like we will be on schedule since the storm was not quite as bad. What did I do yesterday? Ate correctly, 2,003 calories and 27 grams of carbs. Also got a 10 mile bike ride in and did my pull ups/chin ups. I tried shirataki noodles for the first time and I am hooked, no bad taste and perfect consistency. Also thanks to the storm I got 10.5 hours of sleep, no screen in bed with me prior as well. I did cut some of my chores short yesterday since I was super tired. Any roadblocks? I highly doubt my game tonight will be canceled. It just got COLD last night. I was freezing this morning. <rant> I got mad at my neighbors because I saw their dog outside in my front yard. Poor baby was left outside in the freezing cold all night! I really hate them. I HATE when people mistreat animals!!!! </rant> Glad you seem to be doing good so far! I've never heard of this shirataki... doctorake Posted March 15, 2017 Author Report Share Posted March 15, 2017 3/15 What am I doing today? Working 8 hours even though I got up a little later due to hockey. I am off today for workouts so I need to get my daily chores done fast then get to work on some of my weekly goals. Likely going to run some Pomodoro technique blocks for time management. What did I do yesterday? Played hockey, lost in the first round of the playoffs(kind of good since I need a break). I did drink beer afterwards. On the bright side I was super productive at home and got a ton done before the game. I took a picture of my shirataki noodle, vodka sauce, Italian sausage and parmesan dinner. 390 calories, amazing! Calories were 2,516 and carbs were 63. The only time I have also noticed that drinking does not lead to extra eating is after hockey since I usually drink in the locker room have a shower beer then go straight to bed. Any roadblocks? Nothing today, maybe a little short on time. Going to the gym and swimming a 3,800 then hopefully lifting some light weight after. What did I do yesterday? Ate reasonably, except the two Oreos(peeps and birthday cake), I don't even like Oreos but wanted to try the frankenfood flavors. Birthday cake was ok, peeps tasted like sugar. Calories were 2,138 and 59 grams of carb(Oreos were 22 grams combined). I did get home and do nothing since I was tired from not sleeping much the night before. Tonight will be much better assuming I am not in a swim coma. Any roadblocks? Nothing really, only possible swim coma but I should at least get my lifts in. Now they are scheduling an interview in person! What did I do yesterday? Yesterday was not horrible, tried to run only made it 2 miles before IT band pain. I did not want to kill my IT band so I stopped there. Saturday was a 4 hour indoor bike ride, it was horrible. After that I became the food depository. Saturday and Thursday last week were not good. Any roadblocks? Lack of time tonight possibly? I'm not sure stretching or foam rolling really help (jury out on both of those)...what do you think? I've had issues with mine from time to time. I need to get super diligent on foam rolling I guess to try to rehab it the best I can, and no more slope running even though I love that section of trail. Hopefully will get some more non exercise stuff done tonight and finally stick to my nutritional plan. What did I do yesterday? Terrible day. Got home took it easy and had a beer. I will have to bike Wednesday now. Calories were 2,570 and 112 grams of carbs(mostly due to some blue apron meals). Any roadblocks? The consistent problem is if you are on a sideways slope, like on the sides of some roads or on a beach.
