MOTHER CLUCKERS!!!!

 

It is time for another awesome challenge my fellow Monk Fiends!  After the success of the last challenge, I have decided that now it's time to sculpt my body the old fashioned way!  No none of this CGI nonsense, just full on practical effects for this endeavor just like they used to do it.  Just need to use this space to prepare the materials I need to make a classic make up!

 

But who am I?  Some of you may be knew contestants, aiming to join me in this competition that takes creativity, skill, and good ole Sci Fi know how!  I am  BlackTezca, GIF queen extraordinaire who started out carving out simple prosthetic in  From Lurker to (Newb) Rebel!  and slowly been detailing more make up and improvements in my trade in BlackTezca's Daily Battle Towards A Much Better Year  before creating a full on fabricated mechanized fighting masterpiece in the latest award winning cult classic  BlackTezca's 16th Trial: An Artsy Geeky Amazon Defends the Universe!After such stunning masterpiece, it was only fit that I enter into this next challenge to text out my practical effect skill!!

However, I have to make sure I use the proper materials and have the process down in order to complete this challenge!  I can't go in blindly; careful concept design, skills in sculpting out clay, creating the mold to fill with silicone, foam, and other, perhaps more fluid products are needed!  Not only that, but all this must be applied first before finally the details are fully fleshed out in last looks.  That final look hopefully leading to the finale of a long line of creature features.  The most awesome of all awesome genre films is my main goal...and that main finale Swan Song film is...

It truly be a most epic movie!  Just needs the right monstrous creature and angelically design hero to complete it!  Let's see how to do exactly that with the following materials and steps!

Concept Design: Get inspired from Nerdfitness rebels and especially from the recruits!

Details: I did really good last time so I want to do this again; this time aiming for the newbies to the challenges!  it's always good to have encouragement from fellow Rebels and I know that first challenges can be particularly difficult; thus the goal would be to not only leave comments on my solid companions, but also on those just starting out!  Any guild goes!

Contingencies: If I lack internet, that would be the only contingency.  However, as long as I have a nifty device, I should be able to make it!
Tracking: Tracking to be done here! On the forums where I need to comment!
Grading: 
A  for commenting at least once on a fellow Rebel's challenge 4 to 5 days a week! - 15 exp ( 2 Cha )

B for commenting at least once on a fellow Rebel's challenge 2 to 3 days a week! - 10 exp ( 1 Cha )

Sculpting: Lets get rid of excess clay to a sculpt a masterpiece!

Details: I started this during my last challenge but did not call it out and perhaps I should have cause it made the eating quest there a little harder: I am trying out Intermittent Fasting, grabbing a few guidelines from Lean Gains.  This is gonna a bit tough and I'm not gonna start all out seven days a week...just five days a week.  I'm also not gonna go out with NOTHING every morning...just coffee with cream and stevia.  The cream will have calories, but one could give me a break for 50 cals right?  Right?

Contingencies: Whenever I am at the In-Laws and they make breakfast.  Should not be often but just in case I need some flexibility here.

Tracking: I'll be tracking the stretching sessions using MyFitnessPal ( username BlackTezca ) with extra accountability done here.

Grading:

A for Intermittent Fasting, 9 pm to 12 pm, 5 to 7 days days a week - 20 exp ( 1 Sta 2 Con )

B for Intermittent Fasting, 9 pm to 12 pm, 3 to 4 times a week - 15 exp ( 2 Con )

C for Intermittent Fasting, 9 pm to 12 pm, 2 times a week - 10 exp ( 1 Con )

Molding: Need to fill this body with silicone (or water) to create a great appliance!

Details: So since I am doing intermittent fasting I will definitely need to consider filling me up with something!  And that something will be water!  I have been slack with my water drinking these past few months and while working out actively again has caused me to drink more water; I need to make sure I get my full amount!  Time to drink up!

Contingencies: Well if I am in a desert, trapped with no clean water; I'm just gonna need to get creative!

Application: Time to put the above together some adhesive to make sure the mold and sculpt is strong!

Details: Time to bring back some strength training for my 'application' quest!  This will build my design/body up to be strong.  This will be for all strength training workouts, including resistance training too (so snow shoveling, moving boxes, and kickboxing with heavy bags).  Let's get buff!

Contingencies: Sickness and travel will be the contigencies! 
Tracking: I'll be tracking the workouts using MyFitnessPal ( username BlackTezca ) and this lovely thread will be updated as well.
Grading: 
A for Strength workout (Kickboxing included) 3 to 4 times a week - 25 pts (  2 Dex 2 Str )
B for Strength workout (Kickboxing included) out 1 to 2 times a week - 20 pts ( 1 Dex 1 Str )

Last Looks: Time to spice up the sculpt with the final touches, including addition fabrications and some paint!

Details: Let's make some art!  Digital Painting, Model Painting, any kind of sketching, any kind of art is needed here!  Time to spice up the final piece with some color and some more detail!

Contingencies: The usual!  Friends being in town, going on possible trips else where, etc.  
Tracking: I have an art Tumblr and I also have DeviantArt (WATCH ME FOR ACCOUNTABILITY). I shall use those and this thread to keep track.

So, with the LG, there's apparently some controversy over whether or not to do cream and stevia in the fasting window. Reason being that the body reacts to taste first, and if you do something sweet, even if it's stevia, you get an insulin response, which may or may not shut down the sympathetic nervous system and the fasting process.

 

I say it's a controversy because there's not really a lot of consensus about it one way or the other, but I just want you to be warned that it's a possible confounding variable for you. That said, hey! Still rooting for you!

Hmmm I know the cream maybe an issue (calories and all) but I didn't think about the stevia.  Something I'll need to consider...We'll see how it goes and if I need to change things up!

I usually don't do Zero week stuff much but since it's Friday I wanted to get out a bit of a short summary of what I had been working on during this week for this challenge!

 

I have been tracking my water drinking and for all days except Tuesday, I have downed 8 glasses of water!  Nice!  So been doing awesome there so far in drinking all the water!  Hoping to keep that up during the actual challenge and NOT miss a day!

I have done three days of strength training already actually!  I didn't even realize that!  Here are some numbers:

Monday Upper Body:

Chest Press @ 30 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

Dumbbell Row @ 27 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

Tricep Extenstion @ 20 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

Reverse Lunges @ 17 lb per hand @ 1 * 10, 22 lb per hand @ 1 * 8, 24 lb per hand @ 1 * 6 (I skipped a level.  I skipped from 17 straight to 22, then 24.  But that ended up being the right level for me anyways!)

I have been replying to comments left on peeps threads as well as following some new Rebel threads too!  Apparently there is a cat gif theme!  I had no idea!

I have also been pretty successful the past few days on lean gains.  However I definitely need my coffee and my water to help mitigate how hungry I am in the morning...ESPECIALLY after I work out.  Most of the time I have been doing strength training and/or HIIT in the morning to help me wake up which has made me super hungry an hour afterwards if I don't have coffee and/or water.  This is hard, but I am pushing through it and like I said, I have been successful all the way through Monday to Today.  Almost today...42 more minutes to go...

The art has...not been lacking the more I think about it.  I have not been working on my adorbz picture, but I have been doing model painting!  I did some on Monday, worked on my adorable picture Tuesday, did more model painting yesterday, and will work on something today so hurray!  Art has been had!

So yeah! All in all very successful Zero week already!  Hurray!  Just one more thing...

Day 01 Details: 01/04 social days!  I made sure to check out how my fellow Rebels are starting out with their challenges, including those who are a bit newer to this awesome community!  So many cat gifs!!

Day 01 Details: 01/05 days of intermittent fasting!  It is getting easier to hold off eating till lunch time.  That makes me happy since it was really hard when first starting out.

I plan on going to Muay Thai Fundamentals after work tomorrow which will complete my workout for today, and I shall be drinking all the water!  Hoping to finish that off today too.  It'll be a bit hard for drinking water tomorrow during skiing...so we'll see how it goes.  I'll have to drink some water during the morning before we head up to the lovely mountains! 

 

As for the rest of today; I will be catching up with a few awesome threads here and after Muay Thai I will also continue the flats on my current work piece.  I hope to finish all the flats today too but we'll see.  Either way expect a WIP!  Also playing Mass Effect Andromeda...I need to fight the temptation to go straight to that or else nothing else will get done.  So far it's a lot of fun!

It's a relief to hear that ME:A is good. Apparently, the reviews haven't been very kind to it.

 

I'm also glad to hear that the IF is getting better for you! It doesn't always get better, because not all bodies take to it as well, but it sounds like it's proceeding apace for you. That is very good.

 

Good job getting the training on! Get your rest and hit it again tomorrow!

Reviews haven't been kind to recent things I have liked.  Apparently critics hated on Iron Fist something fierce and while I agree that the show was the weakest of the Defenders, it certainly didn't suck; I still finished it in two days, I had a lot of fun with it, and it was as cheesy as a (albeit dark) Kung Fu film...which was kinda the point.  I do agree that the face animations of MEA are wonky, but I still played three hours straight and so far like what I see so...

Yes, face animations.  Wonky as hell.   ESO has prettier faces and animations.   But, everything else has been good.   Music, right in the feels.   Galactic scenery and planetside exploration.  Amaze.    Characters I'm already starting to dig- each in their own way.     Except, really Cora?  All I said was I'm glad to have you here because we'd make a good team.  You didn't have to jump straight to the, "I'm not into women!" reply.   TEAM. WORK. BABE.  Sheez.

Yeah the animations and bugs I have been seeing are everywhere, but so far everything is fun and I enjoy the exploration and the characters.  I was gonna go fro Vetra and then another character appeared and well...gonna go for that guy instead!  Vetra is so pretty though...maybe another playthrough!

Heya!  Sooo...I went on a bit of a mountain escape.  Was getting a little stressed out and wanted to get in some skiing!  Got in one day of skiing of which I and a tree had a bit of a disagreement...

Remember this movie faggots?

So that hurt.  I am not seriously injured or anything but my back is still hurting and my neck was messed up for a bit.  I was planning on doing lower body lifting today but my upper back was not having it.  Yikes.  Hopefully I can do a workout tomorrow!  That also explains my very very late status updates!  Here we go!

 

Day 02 to 06

Concept Design: Get inspired from Nerdfitness rebels and especially from the recruits!

Day 02 to 06 Details: 03/04 social days!  Need to check in on some more peeps tomorrow!

 

Sculpting: Lets get rid of excess clay to a sculpt a masterpiece!

Day 02 to 06 Details: 05/05 days of intermittent fasting!  Managed to keep this up!  Didn't eat past 9 pm and didn't eat until 12 pm!  WOO!!

 

Molding: Need to fill this body with silicone (or water) to create a great appliance!

Day 02 to 06 Details: 05/05 watering days! All the water!  All the water drinking!  Especially when skiing!

 

Application: Time to put the above together some adhesive to make sure the mold and sculpt is strong!

Day 02 to 06 Details: 02.5/03 strength training days! As listed in my previous update, I did do a lower body routine.  Since skiing was hard on my elgs due to ice and slush thanks to Spring skiing, I am counting skiing as a half point.  My legs are still sore from it and so is my back.  Yeah...I shall count it a bit.

 

Last Looks: Time to spice up the sculpt with the final touches, including addition fabrications and some paint!

Day 02 to 06 Details:  03/04 arting days! Didn't get too far on my adorbz picture but still got a bit of it done with flats!  Check out my latest WIP!

I did get a bit farther on it!  Now I need to do flats on the background!

 

Tomorrows' Plan: Board game day tomorrow so maybe..just maybe...I'll be pried away from Mass Effect.  I need to do a workout tomorrow with some strength training, but that will depend on my neck and back.  I shall also continue on my art though I need to do some model painting...in fact expect next challenge to be nothing but model painting...hopefully.

 

In any case, I shall also keep an on my awesome Nerdy peeps!   I may check in with work since I have been out for a while and may have email to look into, but it was nice to get away again.  Sadly no other break planned until June.  So wish me luck till then!

Oh geez, Tree-friend not friend!!!  

 

Good plan on taking things a bit cautiously until the body is ready to really dig in.


I haven't had a chance to play Andromeda since Wed night!  So tonight, hard rule of:  Art first, then all the Andromeda I can stand to play!   I am curious who this other guy is... I can't wait to spot him.     And yes, Vetra is pretty.  And Turian.   And, man I have a soft spot for Turian!

Day 07 Details: 04/04 social days!  Complete!  Ohh I hope I make this an actual habit!

 

Sculpting: Lets get rid of excess clay to a sculpt a masterpiece!

Day 07 Details: 06/05 days of intermittent fasting!  Did this even yesterday!  Nice!  I was pretty freaking hungry after a pretty intense quest in Myth (awesome DnD-lite game in board game style).  We won, but after throwing out our care about threat penalty in order to win (I was the tank at three health and everyone else was at 2 health even after I kept tanking hits), so the meal and beer was well earned.

 

Molding: Need to fill this body with silicone (or water) to create a great appliance!

Day 07 Details: 05/05 watering days! Nothing yesterday but hey!  Still made!

 

Application: Time to put the above together some adhesive to make sure the mold and sculpt is strong!

Day 07 Details: 02.5/03 strength training days! Nope.  I decided to just go 'fuck it', and played board games and Mass Effect Andromeda.

 

Last Looks: Time to spice up the sculpt with the final touches, including addition fabrications and some paint!

Day 07 Details:  04/04 arting days! I did continue here and started on shading.  I'm updated my shading technique with a few layers of 'soft shading' before going into my usually hard shading.  I like how that has been working out with my style so we will see how that goes.

 

Todays' Plan: Kickboxing with upperbody is the plan for today!  Followed by a little bit of art (most likely model painting) for about an hour before I go back into the Andromeda galaxy.  I have a lot of work to do today so I'm gonna be busy before then!  I also haven't slept well, which makes sense since I was on vacation with odd sleeping patterns...at least my back does not hurt anymore, just minor aches.

 

I shall also peruse the forums!  Need to to check in on my peeps!  Expect a Week 1 Summary sometime today or tomorrow!  Ciao!

LOL Yes a tree-'friend'.  Though we're more like 'frenemies'.  I shall remember that tree for ever now.  So will my neck and back.

 

Yes!  I have the same rule!  I also set a timer for three hours last night so I can also go to bed.  I end up losing track of time in that game.  Though I do like Vetra, I also like Liam now and shall make a new character just for him.  He's incredible adorkable and his loyalty mission had the best dialogue options ever.  I have laughed and loved every moment of that mission.  Bring Vetra along for that one cause one of her lines is hilarious.  It helps that my current character is the casual personality most of the time.

Day 08 Details: 01/04 social days!  Done and Done!  So far so good everyone!

 

Sculpting: Lets get rid of excess clay to a sculpt a masterpiece!

Day 08 Details: 01/05 days of intermittent fasting!  I was pretty damn hungry towards lunch time, but I lived!

 

Molding: Need to fill this body with silicone (or water) to create a great appliance!

Day 08 Details: 01/05 watering days! Woo!!!  All the delicious life juice!

 

Application: Time to put the above together some adhesive to make sure the mold and sculpt is strong!

Day 08 Details: 01/03 strength training days! Lower Body day!  Let's see if I can remember some numbers:

Alternating Lunges @ 20 lb per hand @ 2 * 8 (per leg)

Side Lunges @ 20 lb per hand @ 2 * 8 (per leg)

Squats @ 30 lb per hand @ 1 * 10, 32 lb per hand @ 1 * 10

Straight-leg Deadlifts @ 40 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

Ski Squats @ 34 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

Weighted Bridge @54 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

Sumo Squats @ 27 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

Calf Raises @ 30 lb per hand @ 2 * 10

 

Yeah...my legs are talking a bit.  But good news!  One of coats no longer randomly opens up at the zipper, so yeah definitely trimming down the legs a bit :).  Yeah for strength training!

Day 08 Details:  00/04 arting days! Not yet...Mass Effect stole me away...

 

Todays' Plan: A Week 1 Summary is definitely needed.  Also I plan on going to Muay Thai Fundamentals tonight as well as doing an upper body routine afterwards (so what I didn't do yesterday).  I also really wanna play Mass Effect Andromeda, but I shall do some model painting hopefully sometime tonight cause Arting needs to happen!  Wish me luck in fighting temptation!
