“[Mr. Six] plunged over the side into the madness of the darkness below.

 

He felt rushing cold water envelop him, swallowing him, sucking him under, and twisting him in circles, and then propelling him up to the surface—only to grasp a single breath of air.”

 

And so it begins…a journey of survival and self-discovery.  To reach my goal and survive the challenge I must accomplish 90 tasks within the four-week mission time-frame.

Strengthen the body:  After being plucked from the water outside of Marseilles, Bourne had to recover and strengthen his body.

To acquire a task accomplishment in this area I must perform:

q  100 elevated push-ups in a day;

q  250 bodyweight squats in a day;

q  A HIIT workout;

q  Arnold’s 1%; or

q  A run exceeding 2.5 mi or 8x 100m sprints

 

Find yourself (strengthen the mind): Following his fall into the sea, Bourne had to re-discover his identity.

To acquire a task accomplishment in this area I must perform:

q  Wim Hof Breathing Exercises

o    Bonus if breath holding exceeds 3:30

q  Meditation for 5 min

 

HUMINT (strengthen connections): In order to succeed, Bourne had to rely on human assets.

q  Date with K

q  Zoo with kids

q  Coffee with Dad

q  Professional Networking

 

Evade Capture: Certain death awaits Bourne if he allows himself to be captured by Treadstone or the agents of Carlos.

I've found that I have a very hard time with 'daily achievement' goals and so I'm aiming for a more open-ended approach that is more aggregate than specific.  I need to emphasize the or in the strength section -- no way I could do all of that in one day ;)

Thank's for the advice.  This ^^^ was another reason that I went for an aggregate challenge rather than a challenge focusing on daily tasks.  Do you mind @peelout, if I PM my habit loop analysis to you?  I'd definitely value your insight.

Be glad to look.  Just remember I'm still a babe in the woods on this stuff.  And stopping a bad habit is far harder than starting a good one.

So I got out at lunch yesterday and did Arnold's 1%, but I was thinking about trying to build some kind of spy game into my routine/challenge.  Does anyone have any ideas for tasks?  These are things I've thought of to challenge myself...

  • Remember 3 license plates from the run.
  • Convince a place of business to let me exit through the back door.

I love this. Maybe this article will provide some inspiration? (Given your Bourne theme, you have probably seen it before?)

Accomplish some challenge tasks "undercover" - somewhere people would never expect you to do them (and without their noticing).

  • Stand in front of a federal govt building and take lots of pictures.
  • Go to an airport wearing a backpack and just walk around for hours while looking shifty
  • Go to a bank dressed in a disguise (hat, dark glasses, trench coat, fake beard or wig, and tell the teller you want to make a withdraw.

All of these should provide some excitement. Now if you don't want to get arrested, try these:

  • A spy needs an expensive sports car.  Go test drive the most expensive car you can manage at a car dealership.
  • A spy needs fancy clothes.  Go to an expensive suit store and try on the most expensive suit you dare.
  • Go to a building where you would not normally be and just walk around in it (take the stairs to each floor so it counts as exercise).  For instance, hospitals, some gov't buildings like court houses, universities, whatever building you can find.  Keep an eye out for people you might think are assassins.

Go someplace public and just watch people. Come up with as accurate of a story of them as you can.

 

If you are at the same place enough - try and pick out someone who is there at the same time as you quite often (that you don't already know). Catch their eye, say hello, move on. Do it again the next time. Make a conversation. Boom make a friend. 

 

Learn about body language and facial expressions. Practice mirroring with someone in your life - see if you can get the reaction you want. 

 

Go skydiving.

Challenge accepted.  I will have to determine the rules of such an "undercover" challenge, but I think it will align well with:

I've found that you can get into almost anywhere if you are smartly dressed and carry yourself like you know what you're doing.  I may have done this once...or twice.  One of my epic goals is to complete a 'balcony challenge' (skip to 2:50).

I'm really, really enjoying this. The spy tasks are really cool. You should start a trend akin to the cat challenge...

 

Or I'll steal it for the next Rebel mini under the guise of "mindfullness".
