Week 2 – Thursday

 

slept in since SO got home around 12:45am. I totally forgot to leave the door unlocked and I had SO’s keys in the house so I had to get up to let her in, oops!

 

at work:

3 planks @75s

wall sit @60s

boat pose @60s

 

work birthday celebrations happened but I didn’t partake in the goodies. when I got home I practiced my lines, did some foam rolling, and roasted up some chicken thighs / brussel sprouts for dinner.

Oh yeah, I do not have any prescriptivism about high waisted but definitely agree that they look REALLY GOOD on some people and just look kind of strange on most of the population...? Not that the rest of the population looks strange, obviously! Swimsuiiiiits. Tricky tricky. I KNOW there are some bottoms out there for both YOU AND KOO that you'll feel happy in! There are tons of them out in the world these days because of all those spring breakers.

re: high-waisted swimsuit bottoms

 

The way I carry what fat I have is such that it pooches over mid-rise bottoms in an unflattering way. A previously invisible flaw becomes an obvious muffin top, even if the bottoms are on the big side. High-waisted helps a lot with that, but honestly I'm very very shy about showing midsection at all and end up going with one-piece suits. #teampalebelly

that's pretty much where I'm at too, girl! i wore a tankini for the first time last summer but it covers the whole midsection lol

 

i like cute and functional fashion. two-pieces are SO much easier. and the variety of cute bikinis seem much more vast than tankinis. so i'm trying out some body positivity and seeing if i can get myself comfortable in a bikini this year! i'll be sure to keep you all posted with the screaming, crying, pull-my-hair-out details throughout this process :P

HMMM perhaps I will hunt down a tankini and see what I think this year!

(I don't have a lot of pool access anyway, but it's important to have an emergency swimsuit!)

absolutely!! it really is a game changer when you have to go to the bathroom and don't have to completely take off and put back on a gross wet bathing suit lol

plus if you do high-ish waisted bottoms and a tankini top, you're completely covered! good luck :D

Week 2 – Friday

 

treadmillllll – 3.1 miles; 31:42 mins; 90 feet climbed. did some sprinting intervals at the beginning and then went back to steady state 6-6.5mph.

 

at work:

cranky day at work with some server issues. also I took a coworkers Claritin bc I forgot to take mine but it was Claritin-D and it made me feel high. I’ve taken pseudoephedrine before but not when I actually didn’t have a stuffed nose…

 

went to a hot yoga class with a friend after work. then we juiced some juice at her house. it was delicious! I went home and had some cod and cabbage for dinner.

made a sausage and sauerkraut dish for lunch to check off my recipe goal. things got a bit screwy with my day as I was picking up my mom and step dad from the airport and they missed their connecting flight. so we went to the mall and were successful with a new vest for SO and I exchanged my bikini for another one. I stuck with the high waisted style. I tried on a lower waist bottom in-store and didn’t like it.

 

went home and had some chicken and sweet potato before heading up to logan. ended up not dropping them off back in walpole until 9pm. had a few drinks with walpole people since I missed out on other plans I had for the evening.

went for brunch with SO and a friend, got a corned beef hash omelet that was delicious. added broccoli to it too for some veg action.

 

went to visit my dad and work out some healthcare options.

I need to make more casserole thingies.

 

Also, I'll bring it up here because it seems relevant to most CM posts... This morning I came across a recipe for a slow cooker French toast casserole. So yeah, giant bowls of French toast are a thing... now to find a sensible way to make them a part of my life without gaining thirty to forty pounds.

casseroles are the best. usually super easy too! i made a lot more of them though before reading ingredient labels and stocking my pantry with cream of chicken soup. these days it's mostly that egg casserole and i really love the spaghetti squash casserole i tried out for the first time recently.

 

i have known of this phenomenon! but... i let my friend use my slow cooker to make one and the mess was ridiculous. so make sure to read through the comments and see how to avoid rock hard french toast sticking to your insert.

 

that last sentence seems like PHRASING! but i can't figure out how

I had a few new ideas in between that post and now along the same lines but involving pancake batter and sausage. The recipe I saw definitely mentioned using non stick cooking spray.

slept in. shark cramps had me up for some of the night and I needed moar sleep.

cardio’d at the gym. was bored of treadmill so I did:

15 min run at 6mph

5 min walk at 3.8mph and 2% incline

then some treadmill time ~9 mins walking at a steep incline and 5 mins jogging at 6mph. not sure whether or not to count it as a full cardio session… went 1.05miles.

 

work was kind of stressful and by like 3pm I was hangry, out of snacks, and dipped into the candy jar. 12 hershey kisses. shrug.

 

made homechef salmon for dinner and left out the cream kind of because of the candy and kind of because I didn’t think it was really necessary:
