Garlic chips are way more delcious than olives.

i mean... let's not get too crazy. olives are pretty great :P  and now that i think about it, they probably would've fit right in with this meal! but i had never cooked garlic like this before and it was heavenly. 10/10 recommend :D

Week 3 – Friday

treadmill – ran a 5k in 34mins. kind of slow because bored and got some cramps. Walked a bit more after that for a total of 3.23 miles and 140ft climbed in 36:17.

I ended up eating Hershey kisses again and failed my no work goodies goal this week. the candy train continued into the evening while watching my friend’s very dated and sexist musical. ended at 2300 and 248g carbs. yeesh. oh I also had two beers after the show bc I honestly completely forgot about the alcohol goal.

Weights: 2/3

Yoga: 36/60; 2/3

Week 3 – Saturday

two beers and apparently less than 8 hours sleep means crazy hangover headache. blech. still got up and did some yoga then went to the gym.

goblet squats

55x5

back squats

70x5

95x3

105x3

135x3

reverse lunges

65x8x4

hip thrusts

45x10x4

then only had time to get ready and go to a baby shower so no point for a cooked meal. had foods at the shower, they were tasty. did not have alcohol.

but then, since we were in the area, we went and crashed a friend of a friends bachelorette party. and I did drink… way too much. I don’t ever remember being this sick actually. it was not fun and a bit scary and definitely something I never ever want to go through again. combination of lack of food, hard cider, tequila shots, and vodka sodas. #thisis30

Week 4 – Sunday

day of nausea and recovery. pasta, reeses, naps, and pizza. I did help get the egg casserole made and grocery shopped. SO did a bunch of laundry.

2250 cals and 235g carbs

Week 4 – Monday

only got 7 hrs sleep but got up for the gymmmm

bench

45x5

70x3

85x3

95x3

shoulder was feeling wonky so I did some LYTPs

5# DBs and 10 reps of each position

underhand cable pulldowns

55x5

105x8x4

incline pushups on a bench

9

8x3

then 5 mins of yoga

leftover pizza for bfast!

no goodies at work but I had leftover reese’s from home. made a “big” batch of chili which I should’ve divided into 6 instead of 5 servings. Or added an extra can of beans and done 7 or 8 servings. Had that for dinner over spinach.

RI2dAp_Vs7DIRrIHwmaqvoHsZ1j1O4Zrzn9FeTfE

It was bomb. I did a mixture of ground turkey and beef, cooked it up and continually drained out the water to try and get it more browned than boiled. Sautéed the spices with the garlic and onion before adding everything to the pressure cooker for 10 mins. also added coconut aminos, a bit of worcestershire, and apple cider vinegar. Turned out with great flavor. i did use canned hot chilies and ended up adding hot sauce to my bowl because I’m spicy.

Chili or pasta sauce on salad greens is A++ yum!

EPIC weekend! Sounds super fun! Social events to the max!!! Glad you're A-OK after the epic outing and didn't have to deal with feeling ill till you got home.

yes! when i went paleo for the first time i was like, meat/tomato sauce on greens? sure! why not!

haha yes, it was! had a talk with SO this morning about maybe laying off overbooking ourselves. except we're already pretty booked through the summer... new englanders get that way about summer.

Presumably your summers don't last through October the way they do here. Or you have a crap ton of friends. :D

Also, it must've been a good chili week. That's what I prepped for my lunches this week. I don't think I've ever tried it over greens, though. I need to remedy that.

OH my I started doing it when paleo-ing too. It is still legit. MMmm. Lots of good habit building from that diet actually, minus the foodphobia.

Oh my gosh on the summer bookings! Everyone hibernates the other part of the year? Too funny! Always feels good to be in a place where you have to deliberately not book stuff on a given day.

no they definitely don't! seasons have been changing though so it is staying fairly warm throughout the fall months. plus it's new england so we're always really fond of fall too... lol not a crap ton but a bunch from different social circles which means i don't usually go hang out with all of them at once and they all have separate plans and i have fomo so it's a vicious cycle!

yay! enjoy your chili! as deciduous said, lots of good habit building from going paleo years ago and one of those for me was not really counting a meal real unless it had greens in it.. plus you can add baby spinach to anything! so although meat, tomatoes, and beans are delicious... it needed greenery for me to feel like it was complete :D

absolutely! the foodphobia luckily only lasted a short amount of time for me, maybe between 6mo to a year which in the grand scheme wasn't a lot of time. now i'm totally fine with once in awhile grains, beans, legumes, etc.

actually, yes lol most people do sort of hibernate in the winter! it's hard to dress for the cold, drive in the snow, park in the snow, do anything but sled in the snow really. i actually will schedule bigger house cleaning type tasks months in advance for the winter-time like cleaning out the dryer vent, putting up new shelves, etc. of course... i didn't get around to it this past winter... <.<         >.>

just had leftover chili for lunch (w/ spinach of course) and then also a banana and my belly is UBER full

I am appreciating this home chef phase the warriors are going through because it's giving me dinner inspiration. ;) That looks lovely! It's almost time to do my May meal planning and something like that shall appear.

Did they have you pre-blanch the potatoes?

yup, they were cooked perfectly if i do say so myself! i don't peel vegs if i can avoid it so i just washed, sliced thin, covered with lightly salted water in a pot, brought to a boil, reduced to a light simmer for 10 mins. strained, added cream, shallots, chives, parmesan, S&P. i don't know if this matters but i let it sit in the pot like than for 10m while i did my mobility lol

transferred to cast iron, topped with more parmesan/S&P and then baked for 15! it was done before some of the other stuff so it did stay in the turned off oven for maybe 5-10m after that too

Awww, I just caught up. It is no fun to shoot through to the sick drunk phase but your list makes it make perfect sense.  I think I only staved off sickness this past weekend by going to the same diner at like 3:30 AM both nights. #notsorryboutit #foodwillsaveusall

You've got so much awesome cooking going on in here lately. :D

Hi!!!

1.  All of your foods look delicious.  Now I can't wait for lunch.

2.  Bathing suit shopping is just the worst.  I bought my first 2 piece for Europe last year and wasn't quite where I thought I looked awesome, but I looked OK.  Now I'm half panicking it won't fit for Australia next month.  Things have been somewhat rocky on the weight/fat loss side over the last 5 months.  As in the opposite of that happened a bunch and now I'm trying to get back where I was.

3.  I missed you.
