The Surviving Infinity

Recommended Posts

New goal = to survive. New class = survivor (monk ranger hybrid, but I'm not training martial arts for a while)

Anything I aim to do is going to go towards survival. Sheer and basic, I want to be adaptable to any situation that life throws at me. It's a mix of everything and a touch of anything. I want to be capable and strong and able of surviving anything that comes at me. Heavily inspired by fictional characters (Korra, Shepard, Corvo, Croft, etc), I want to survive all of life's challenges. No matter if I'm stranded in the woods or struggling with school grades, I will survive, and improve from it.

I've got an RP element I'm going to add to this instead of my usual signature tracking. Over the course of the challenge, I shall start with a number of Hit Points. These are lost by not completing a habit, and every time I complete a week of any one habit, I shall gain 2 Hit Dice back. If I lose consciousness 3 times (dip under 0HP), my character is reincarnated. I lose a Hit Dice (and their respective points) and will have to choose lesser evils to combat with.

This is because merely tracking is no longer enough motivation for me, and I've been playing too much D&D recently. The risk of death is a scary thing!

Hit Dice = 4d10

Hit Points = 10 + 4*d10 + 4*CONmod(0) = 30

How to survive #1 - Food

Berries, food caught in traps, wild grain, home made kimchi, food is an essence of culture and creation. But to ensure long term survival, correct food stuffs must be consumed. Poison is avoided at all times.

Do not eat cereal. (-1HP every cereal bowl)

How to survive #2 - Fitness

It's a struggle to survive when unfit. (survival of the fittest and all that jazz) Eventually I shall progress to Nathan Drake levels of maneuverability, but for now, I shall be a supple as the wind and flexible no matter the day's challenge.

Do the Daily Dare. Stretch every day. (-HP per for every day missed)

How to survive #3 - Knowledge

If you don't know how to construct traps, or whether a certain plant will kill you, or how to navigate terrain, the chances of survival just plummeted. Forethought and general skills make life much easier.

Study. (-HP every homework handed in late) Bible reading (-HP per day missed)

How to survive #4 - Record keeping

Perhaps someone will come after you. Maybe you'll have to share your knowledge. Maybe you need proof of some act that was committed, it which case, an accurate recall of events that transpired will become essential.

Journal. (-HP per night missed)

Following to see how you survive :)

It's sure to be an adventure, no matter how I scrape along xD

Following to watch you destroy this challenge.

Looking ahead in the plot, it might be slowly and barely, it might be with a kick in high heels, and the challenges will probably exist at the end, but I shall still be alive.

Looks like a fun challenge. I like the RP elements. Good luck in week 1!

Thanks! Ive stuck some pictures on the wall of Lara Croft and Korra etc as motivation and a reminder. I tend to snack most in my room. What Would They Do? I think its finally added the bit of RP element I've needed, but survival is gonna be a fun adventure xD

Hopefully it shall be! ;D

Didn't manage to read my Bible last night, so that's one down, and had cereal for dinner today because I was too lazy to cook.

Tomorrow there shall be prepared meals so I won't snack (if I do it will be on yogurt), but everything else is getting ticked off. I forgot how it good it was to settle into a habit that made me feel good!

I'm fan of cereals too :D

Trying to eat them just on breakfast (and not all at once.)

The issue is that I like them sweet (honey or sugar) and I snack on them when I get home when I shouldn't be eating as much - it's just because I got home and am bored.

The first few days were a struggle, trying to avoid the cereal and get around to reading the Bible.

But then I made a daily plan for the Bible reading, and the pressure that Easter is coming soon means that that is back on target and I'm into Jeremiah.

For the cereal it has been currently resolved by swapping it for a mug of hot milk with some honey, and then some honey lemon tea. I think I was simply dehydrated when I got home, and needing a bit of energy - in the form of sugar or honey. So far it has been working quite well.

Journalling is mostly ontop of things, but if I don't stick to a night routine I will forget.

Daily Dare is maintaining speed, and because I like the competition of sticking in 2nd place in the PvP thats going on. ~Can you tell I'm competitive?~

Hehe, the competition is what drives me when I'm into it :P although I dropped the ball and now I'm way behind.

Keep at where you are now then! I'm just determined not to fall out of second (that reminds me - I need to update my score)

(Ironic considering it's Easter Sunday)

Well, survival was the goal and survival was what I managed, so A+ to me!

I struggled to avoid the cereal in the beginning, but got around it with alternate foods. I think I'm going to try to stop eating so much fruit and nuts next time and see how that will also help.

Study is going well and I'm fairly certain I'm going to get an A/A* in at least one of my maths modules, which will be more than last year. The study plan is coming along well and I am hopeful.

Workout has dropped behind, and I'm about a week behind in my Bible reading, which isn't ace but I'm amazed that I managed to get so far - a lot more than I thought I would ever be  possible.

Journalling is going well, all planned out for the rest of April, and its nice to have that routine.

Well, this is a sign out for this challenge and I'll try to set everything up for next challenge this afternoon as I'll be off hiking Offa's Dyke for three days starting tomorrow! I'm genuinely so excited!!
