EternalJourno wants to be the Hero of Canton

Thank you, @Kvedulf and @SnowOwl, for the kind words! The comments help to keep me going. I don't see myself as an inspiration, especially when I'm stress eating and thinking about giving everything up some days, lol.

This week was pretty good. I did zumba Wednesday, so I was too burned out to do anything Thursday and skipped my workout. Then Friday I started the day off with too much Easter candy, which steamrolled into other bad food choices. But it's OK. I'll get back on track this weekend. I started today off with some zumba and had breakfast at my favorite spot, but I've been gradually adjusting my order to make it more paleo-ish. I got the veggie omelet with green chile and hashbrowns, and instead of toast I added a side of bacon. It's so damn good. And it's a lot of food, so it usually holds me over until dinnertime. My weight keeps fluctuating, which is OK. I'm not going to dwell on it. At one point I was at 206, but after yesterday's food binge I was at 210 this morning. No big deal, not at all, not even a little (see how hard I'm trying to convince myself of this, lol). I can't stop trying to do chinups and pullups ALL the time, lol. And I took some back flexing pictures for the first time and was pleasantly surprised (photo below)! It's a little frustrating to put in what feels like a lot of hard work in the week to see minimal results and then to have one off day and see those results reversed so easily. But it's OK. It just means I have to keep working hard and fight through the down times.

Oh, I almost forgot. Tough Mudder also released some official photos from the event!

That perseverance and struggle is what makes you so inspirational.

Today is victory over yourself of yesterday; tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.

I guess I'll have to struggle even harder just for you guys :P

Week 4 Update

Quest 1 - Workouts: A (This week things were slightly off because of the Mudder, but I still managed one bodyweight workout and two sessions of zumba).

Quest 2 - Walks: C (Only squeezed in one hike and one walk. Just an off week, I guess).

Quest 3 - Alcohol: A (I only had 1 beer!)

Quest 4 - Diet: C (I ate out quite a lot, but I'm making better decisions when I do).

Week 4 Grade: B

TOTAL CHALLENGE GRADE: B-

Challenge Evaluation: I went back and re-read all my posts this challenge (which I never do). I need to remind myself of the things that I'm struggling with and the things I tell myself I need to do. I have a habit of writing checks that I forget to cash, lol. So I took notes and here's a brief recap:

— My weight loss goal is to get to 180 pounds by July 4.
— Stepping back from following others on the forum helped me out a lot this time. I was better able to keep track of people. And checking in frequently myself helped keep me on track.

— I re-read the Nutrition Module in the Academy. I re-evaluated what level I'm at and I'm going to make a few changes so I can level up. The main thing is more veggies for lunch. I'm going to take a break from sweet potatoes and add way more broccoli for at least a week to see how it goes. Reducing red meat may be a side quest too.

— I haven't done so well on getting to bed earlier. I need to be more disciplined here. I need to power down at night and read instead of zoning out on Netflix. Less screen time for real.

— Finances ... umm, to be continued...

— Getting rejected (for the third time this year) sucked but wasn't the end of the world. I'm building courage and putting myself out there more. I'm going to embrace rejection and see how many girls will turn me down, lol.

— I have yet to define my Big Why more solidly or my definition of success. But re-reading old material helped me re-focus.

— Brain weasels are a major problem. They can be so debilitating sometimes. But usually I just need to let the wave ride over me. Then I usually come out refreshed and ready to go. This weekend is an example of that. I was doing really rough Friday and Saturday, but being around friends and having things to do Sunday helped pull me out of the funk.

— Work is still an issue. I'm definitely burned out. I NEED to make a change. I'm still hopeful for my solo project idea, but I haven't made any progress there yet.

— I conquered the Tough Mudder and proved to myself that I am indeed a Beast. That was a major level up and a notch off my Epic Quest. Progress is being made. I am capable of overcoming all fears and obstacles.

Great job, well done, congrats! :D

Rereading your old posts is a good idea, and has inspired me to check out my previous challenges too (as soon as I find some time, obv!)
