Ryuu1011
Ryuu1011 Battles the Machines 400/400hp Inventory: 1 Health Potion (+50hp) Last challenge was not my best effort and I've been thinking about a fun way to keep me focused and on target to my goals, with flexibility for the days that I know I'm going to fail, but also with a system to let me mentally say "ok that's fine, its ok to fail sometimes, but don't let that one thing de-rail your day or week, get back up and try again". To that end I give my my Horizon Zero Dawn Challenge RPG. I will start with 400hp and 1 health potion, I will gain and loose health as I train and work towards my goal. Then I will use my goals and habits to try and take down the machines in my own world. Goal 1: Strength to kill the Machines This challenge I will continue to use my Gymnastic Bodies Foundations classes as I continue to build strength, flexibility, and balance. GB Foundations (UB, LB, C) x3 per Week ___/ 3 = ___/12 Stretch Series (FS, MS, TB) x3 per Week ___/3 = ___/12 Handstand Series x3 per Week ___/3 = ___/12 Workout Schedule- Mon- Handstand, Upper body Tues- Run/Walk, Front Split, Handstand Wed-Lower Body, Middle Split Th- Run/Walk, Thoracic Bridge, Handstand Fri- Walk/Run, Core Sat-Rest or Run/Walk Sun-Rest or Run/Walk Training Mishap: -10hp, Failed to do a set workout on the set day, that was not pre-planned Battle Wounds: -25hp, any workouts left uncompleted at the end of the week Goal 2: Craft Health Potions to Survive the Battle Working on my nutrition is one of the hardest aspects of health and fitness trying to make sure that I stay on track and keeping sweets away is tricky, but hopefully this system will help me stay within my goal. Record my Nutrition in MFP x 7 per week ____/7 = ___/28 Be within +/- 200 cal of 1700 (+ exercise cals) x6 per week ___/6 = ___/24 Starting Metrics (3/16/2017): 163lbs, 16.2%bf Waist: 32.5" Hips: 33.5" Craft Health Potion: +50hp 6 days at +/- 200 cals of my goal Handful of Berries: +10hp Chose the healthy option Scratch: -10hp Bad Choice Gash: -25hp Bad Meal Gorge: -100hp Bad Day Goal 3: Explore and Find new Machines I know that Running club will help me with my running goals, and hopefully since the days are becoming longer now I'll be able to go on more walks with my GF to accomplish my walking goal. So to help with that this challenge I'm making one of my goals to check in with everyone on my own thread, and to catch up with my fellow nerds on their threads and help motivate them and keep them going too. Check in here 5x per Week ___/5 = ___/20 Touch base on at least 1 other person’s thread 5x per week ____/5 = ___/20 Consumed by Battle: -10hp per day missed on my log or others. Ryuu1011
Week 1 Day 1 Monday 3/20/17 The Adventure Begins! Hp: 400/400 Metal Shards: 10 // Crafting Materials: 80 Today went very well. Accomplished a lot of things that I wanted and killed a few machines too! I managed to take down a Strider (Flossed), a Grazer (healthy meal prepped), a Scrapper (cleaned after cooking), a Shell walker (gratitude statements), and even took down a Stalker (Cleaned the Living Room) netting me 10 metal shards ($ towards a health/fitness related reward at the end of the challenge) and 80 crafting materials (gaming minutes). No damage taken today. G1: Upper body and Handstand workout completed G2: Recorded my Nutrition in MFP, and was +/-200 cal of my goal G3: No Scouting today, danced around to Nightcore while I was cleaning but I don't think that really counts... hahaha G4: Checked in here and Touched based on a few friends threads today. Gratitude: David Bowie's amazing bulge performance in The Labyrinth. A clean house & kitchen. Taking apart the vacuum to clean it out and actual being able to put it back together and it still work (and work better!) Great Days. Ryuu1011
Week 1 Day 2 Tuesday 3/21/17 Hp: 405/400 Health Potions: 1 // Metal Shards: 14 // Crafting Materials: 115 Pretty good day overall in terms of health and fitness. Though I had a very (sad?) situation in my 4th Grade class today where a young boy wrote a sexually explicit note to one of the girls and I was just dumbfounded that something like that happened in my 4th Grade class (9-10ish years old), my middle school classes ok it would have still been bad but at least it would have been somewhat more expected. :/ *sigh* kids these days >__< I swear the longer I teach the closer I get to saying "whipersnapper" on a regular basis, and all crotchety about how bad the "next generation" is lol I don't wana turn into a Grand Pa yet, I'm too young! Another flawless day of adventuring, no health lost today. Machines killed today: Watcher (bojo), Strider (flossing), Scrapper (clean right after cooking), and a Shell walker (Gratitude Statements) netting me 4 metal shards, and 35 crafting materials. I also managed to make it to bed before 11 today getting me +5 HP from a Soothing Campfire. G1: Middle splits and Handstand workout completed. The handstand workout today was brutal 5 sets of 30 sec Prone Floor Handstand Flexion with 5-10# weights. I managed 2 sets with the 10# weights before my traps completely gave out and I had to downgrade to the 5#s. Probably the hardest exercise I've ever done specifically for my traps. G2: Recorded my Nutrition in MFP, and was +/-200 cal of my goal for the second day in a row, woot! small victories :3 G3: Since my phone is being a colossal butt and deciding to die by 10am even with an extra battery and a full charge, I was unable to record my statistics but I did run at running club today and was please with how my feet held up. G4: Checked in, yep. Posted encouragement, yep. Good Gratitude: Eating right while still being able to have a sweet treat, in moderation. Starting off strong. Improving myself one day at a time. Clean house. Getting healthy groceries. We try to do what we can but sometime when the home situation is unhelpful and unwilling to change there is little teachers can do besides provide a rock amidst the storm, and hope to pass on a few peals of wisdom. Thankfully, after talking with the parent and having the student read what they wrote exactly to the parent I don't think it'll be happening again. 5 hours ago, deftona said: Here to follow to watch Pancake Fever take over I love the set up of your challenge too! Very accurate, like I said to Terah it is really hard to try and change them when their home life is unsupportive, unstable, or just plain bad, even so we still try and do the best we can to make the best individuals out of each student that we see. Times are so different from when I was growing up too and I still feel like I'm "growing up" >_< and then I realize that I'm 25 now and an "actual" adult, teaching how to adult sometimes and just hoping that I'm doing an ok job lol Yeah! Ryuu1011
Week 1 Day 3 Wednesday 3/22/17 Hp: 400/400 Health Potions: 1 // Metal Shards: 43 // Crafting Materials: 210 Today was a pretty challenging day, but I managed to keep my head above the water. I had a lot to get done today and then kept getting phone calls today (who knew I was popular occasionally?! ) The main chore today was getting my Taxes done, which took about 2 hours, but now that it's finished I can finally look forward to my refund (~$1000) Even loosing the two hours to taxes I still managed to get everything that I wanted to get done completed today and even got in an extra short walk with my GF to the local Pokestop by our apartment. Had a small scratch today -10hp on my nutritional goals getting some extra candy and some sugary cereal, but still managed to be with in my cal goal range of 1700 +/- 200 cals (currently at -117 for the day) and only had one serving of each when I normally would have had all that was left so still doing good overall. I've found that for me a great way to stay on track it to actually measure out one serving and then put the food out of eye sight keeping me from eating the entire container, especially with sweets. Machines killed today: Watcher (bojo), Strider (flossing), Scrapper (clean right after cooking), a Shell walker (Gratitude Statements), and my first big beast a Behemoth (taxes) netting me 29 metal shards, and 95 crafting materials. I also managed to make it to bed before 11 today getting me +5 HP from a Soothing Campfire for a second day G1: Completed my Front Split, and my Lower Body workout today. Its amazing how tight I am even though I've been doing my stretches for about 3 months now. G2: Recorded my Nutrition in MFP, and even though it was close I was still within my +/- 200 goal for the day. G3: Had a lovely walk with my GF to the Pokestop by our apartment not long enough to normally count for one of my weekly walks but I'm giving myself credit since it was such a busy and and I still managed to fit it in, plus it's the first week. G4: Checked in, Posted encouragement Gratitude: Steak, having my taxes finished (and refunds!), and getting my Fitbit fixed. Ryuu1011
Week 1 Day 4 Thursday 3/23/17 Hp: 395/400 Health Potions: 1 // Metal Shards: 46 // Crafting Materials: 255 Today was rough day. Started off by taking my weight and I weighed in 164.1 and 17.3%bf, almost 1lb and 1% higher than my starting a stats. I know there are a lot of factors that could have made those numbers be the way that they are (primarily my awful two previous weeks) but it's always disheartening seeing the numbers. Hopefully that just means next weeks numbers will be that much better. After school was running club and even though I walked instead of running today my feet still started bothering me. So I think I'm going to change my running goal into a walking one. I just sucks because I want to improve my cardio but my body just doesn't want to cooperate. :'( I've tried staying off of it, and I stretch quite a bit, but it still doesn't want to cooperate. At this point I probably just need resign and save the money to see a specialist if I want to truly get it fixed. Then after I got home I was extremely hungry and tired so I had a healthy snack (super proud of myself for choosing fruit in stead of something worse) and then tried to take a 5 min power nap and set my phone alarm for 5 min. Little did I know my phone decided to die during that 5 min and I ended up taking almost a hour and a half nap by the time I woke up. >___< Uhhh wat a day. Since I had such a odd afternoon I'm taking a training mishap (-10hp) on my handstand training that I had scheduled for today but I did complete my Thoracic Bridge training today. :D Machines killed today: Watcher (bojo), Strider (flossing), Scrapper (clean right after cooking), and a Shell walker (Gratitude Statements) getting me 3 metal shards, and 25 crafting materials. Worked on taking down a Rockbreaker (finishing up my grades) too but only managed to take down 1/3 of its health, I'll get it tomorrow or maybe Monday at the latest! Also continued my early bed streak bed to getting me +5 HP from a Soothing Campfire for a third day G1: Thoracic Bridge Stretches complete, HS training rescheduled for tomorrow. G2: Recorded my Nutrition in MFP, and was almost exactly on my on my goal G3: Walked during running club G4: Checked in, Posted encouragement Gratitude: Frozen, Simple healthy meals from Panera, students who actually want to learn and value their education. Doodle points for today: ~90% 9/10 6 Quote Half-Elf: Ranger/Assassin Challenges: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6a] [6b] [7] [8] [8.5] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [ --> Battle Log] Old Battle Logs [2017] New Battle Log 2018: Reforged DragonForging My Life: Epic Quests [Google D] Epic Quests [NF] Lifter Profile [Symmetric Strength] Racer Profile [Athlinks] Body Comp [G-Sheet] Running Stats [G-Sheet] Link to comment

That sounds like water weight to me. Plus, do you measure at the same time? Before or after eating? Regardless, try to not let the numbers rule your encouragement. Getting up and doing the workout/nutrition is the real win. 4 hours ago, Ryuu1011 said: I just sucks because I want to improve my cardio but my body just doesn't want to cooperate. :'( I've tried staying off of it, and I stretch quite a bit, but it still doesn't want to cooperate. What do you mean, doesn't cooperate? What happens? Do you like running? PLUS, you killed a ton of machines today! Congrats! Keep up the great work! Don't let a bad day get ya down. 1 Quote 2018 ~ Trophy Guide and Roadmap. 2016 Journey: June | July failed | August failed | October respawn/failed 2017 Adventure: January respawn | February | March | April/May | June | July | Horizon 2017 Dawn year recap 2018 Quest: January respawn | February | May What do we say to the god of procrastination?
